I brought my 93-year-old mother, who is on a fixed income, in for a basic haircut with one of the lower-priced stylists (online quote, $55). Without clearly disclosing any additional cost, the stylist added a $41 "gloss" treatment. Total cost: $96. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we were at the register and saw that her bill had almost doubled, I asked what the extra charge was. The cashier said "haircut and gloss." I turned to my mom and asked, "Did you get a gloss?" (I didn't even know what that was.) She seemed unsure so the cashier went back and asked the stylist and confirmed the charge. The cashier offered no apology, no explanation, and no option to remove the charge.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I spoke to my mom later and she told me that the stylist had asked, "Do you want your hair to look shiny?" and she answered yes, having no idea she was agreeing to a $41 add-on. Had she understood it cost extra, she would have declined.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My mom has very short, fine senior hair that she washes every day. A $41 gloss is completely unnecessary and the way it was presented to a 93-year-old woman feels predatory. This is the second local salon that has done virtually the same thing to her (previous one turned a $25 cut into $50 with similar undisclosed add-ons). The haircut itself was fine, but targeting elderly clients with confusing, expensive extras they neither need nor fully consent to is unacceptable. They have permanently lost both of our business. Seniors and caregivers: ALWAYS ask for the total price upfront and specifically say "no extras or products." I'd hate for another elderly person to be taken advantage of the way my mom was. read more

I was able to easily schedule an appointment on Organics Salon's website. Brenda was my stylist and did an excellent job with my cut and style. My hair is healthy, shiny, and my cut makes it easy to recreate how she styled it. They have a variety of Aveda products to keep your hair looking great. They also threw in a complimentary travel sized hair mask with my purchase. I'll be coming back in a few months for another cut and style. read more

I wanted to treat my mother out and make sure she was pampered. She flew out to be with me right before my wedding & I am so glad I scheduled Organics for her! Besides the fact that Pflugerville was being infested by crickets and they were EVERYWHERE, the salon was clean and inviting. The receptionist was so sweet and accommodating to my mom. We had pictures ready and our hair stylist listened. The cut was perfect! I wanted to book my mom a facial and we were able to be squeezed in! Jess was phenomenal. I scheduled a hair appointment days in advance for 5:30 and did a phone consultation with Paige. When I arrived at my appointment not only did I have to wait for 20 minutes but I was told I would now be seen by Maria. Maria told me that the service I requested would require more time than she had available (not taking into consideration we were 20 minutes behind because of no fault of my own) and was unwilling to work with me to find a resolution. She suggested highlights and when I told her that I'd like to do highlights towards the top of my head she said there was no time for that even though the highlights were initially her recommendation. On my way out, I didn't receive an apology for the front desk and Maria offended me by offering me two samples of hair products. Like a child being given a lollipop. This used to be my salon of choice up until about a year ago and this experience cemented my decision to stay away from this place. So much for respecting a customer's time. read more

My first time there. My appt was at 3pm with Christopher. I arrived ten minutes early. I walked in and there were about ten boxes of product being opened by two people. Boxes, paper, product, staff and clients leaving very little room to walk to the front desk. The three waiting chairs were occupied and one person standing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told the front desk I was there for a 3pm appt. I was told they would let the stylist know. I stood there for about ten minutes before a chair was available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A couple clients came in and were taken back immediately.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After about another ten minutes I saw the person who was to cut my hair go to a station with a client with wet hair. So I'm thinking he is just starting on that client and I have been here at least twenty minutes. I go up to the front desk and ask how much longer. Her reply was " not much longer because that client has been here since 1pm for a color and cut " she goes to ask and tells me he will be another 30 minutes. So that would be a wait time of 50 minutes I told her I wasn't willing to wait and I left. I wouldn't recommend this salon if you value your time. read more

Staff across the board are SO NICE, and I super loved how everyone helped each other - from training/coaching to keeping the place clean. I got my hair cut by Paige, and she was so great! I went there for my roots touch up. Came out with all over chocolate brown color. I was left to process for so so long! 2 hours for root touch up? I walked in blonde and left chocolate brunette. $ 146 plus tip No cut no blow out( it was pouring rain so why blow out) , just root touch up and gloss. Had to find another salon today to redo my color and full head highlights, and toner . Such a drag $220.00 to fix it . I got ripped off read more

I will just say that Organics salon went out of their way to make it right. They responded immediately to my emails regarding my experience and made an appointment for me when there were not any available appointments on the day and time that fit MY schedule. I've been taking my 10 ten year old daughter to this place for at least a couple of years, once every few months. Rachel does a great job with her hair while we're growing her bangs out. However, today we arrived at 5 minutes before her appointment time and there was someone at the counter checking out. So I waited 15 minutes and finally someone can up and asked if they could help us. She said Rachel was still busy but would be with us shortly. At 3.30, some other person came up and said they could shampoo my daughter's hair. Finally I was able to tell Rachel what I wanted for my daughter, and she did a great job. I've been coming here to see Mel since October '19. She has been the most amazing hair stylist. My color has been getting compliments ever since she got her hands on it. I'm naturally brunette and came to Mel with a brassy, damaged balayage. She took the time to understand what I wanted and how we can best get there while improving the health of my hair. It's been about 4 months and my color is the beautiful beigey balayage i've been hoping for. Every visit with Mel has been great. Took my daughter yesterday for a haircut. Been bringing her here for a couple of years now. Our normal stylist was out, but my daughter needed a haircut bad. So they set me up with a senior stylist and promised not to worry. Biggest mistake my husband took her in this morning to correct and it's even worse. My daughter hates her haircut. I feel as Maria made it worse on purpose. The salon is a great place, but I don't feel Maria is cut out for doing a pixie cut . My daughter is walking around looking like a mushroom . I feel bad for my daughter and wanted her cut to look great for my birthday photos. My husband is going to have to still clean up around her neck as she still has hair patches. I had been going to Breeze salons for over 10 years and after being overcharged for the last time I decided to find another Aveda salon in the area, let me tell you BEST SWITCH I'VE EVER MADE!! At 38 weeks pregnant I needed a full color and cut that could last me for awhile- ELLA went above and beyond to give me the best cut and color i've had, honestly, ever! My hair has never looked so blonde, healthy, and cut perfectly around my new pregnant face shape. I am re-doing my maternity photos just to capture this hair cut.
