Paid nearly $400 for a service, my hair color was no where near what i asked for, the cut was terrible and insignificant and for EVERY bowl "extra" used of bleach i was charged $25 when thats not something disclosed upon setting the appointment. i've gone twice to this place now to give it another chance and both times i feel i was entirely ripped off and that girls in salon gossip to each other and made me feel uncomfortable both times. I felt like when i spoke my mind about MY hair and the service i was judged and then rushed out of the salon so other clients wouldn't hear. Anyways, i will not be going back and highly recommend anyone who wants a service where you get what you pay for and treated like what you have to say matters don't go here. read more

I've been seeing Alexis for almost two years now. She has single handedly raised my confidence. I have had multiple surgeries in the last four years making me lose majority of my hair. Both volume and length. It was heart breaking. I first started with just getting extensions and was extremely nervous initially. I heard that extensions ripped out your hair no matter how well you took care of them. Alexis assured me that wasn't true and I'm SO glad I listened. Two years ago my hair barely touched my shoulders. It really should've been cut just below my ears to be considered "healthy and even." Now, including trims and cuts, it's grown at least eight inches. It was also so thin and frail and now it's so thick. I don't even wear extensions anymore because of how confident I feel with my hair. Alexis is extremely careful at installing, move-ups, and taking them out. Because of her care, my hair is so healthy. I just had a blonding service done by Alexis and she slayed. I feel like myself again. I 1000% recommend Salt & Waves. Alexis is amazing, but I know they only give the best stylists chairs there. The vibe is so relaxing, beachy, and feminine. Called to schedule an appointment for a cut and undercut. It'd been since before COVID since I cut my hair. Was told Cora would be able to do what I was asking. My appointment started about 10 minutes later than scheduled, no big deal. They are connected to a coffee and beer spot so I grabbed a drink while I waited. Cora was great at making sure everything was how I wanted it before proceeding with each major cut. Got a wash and hair blown straight afterwards. The products used sent great. I may go back just for those. It all ended up being around $65. read more

I see Cora for hair cuts and foilage and have loved it every time and I'm usually very particular. She takes time to understand my likes/dislikes. The inside of the salon is nice and connected to a little coffee shop. QR codes are placed in salon to place orders while you're getting your hair done. Cute touch! I cannot rave enough about Salt and Waves Salon. I've done my fair share of salon hopping over the past 10 years and I must say-- they take the medal. I come for occasion styling, blowouts, cut and color. I've never been disappointed. Chelsea is my main gal! She's definitely perfection when it comes to anything and everything hair related. BUT I've tried quite a few other stylists at Salt and Wave-- they are just as amazing. Booking is more than convenient and easy. The receptionist is always kind, helpful, and sweet. Cleanliness is 10/10. TIP * order coffee from the QR code at each stylist's station. A barista from the coffee shop next door brings it on over. read more

I was super nervous when I decided to switch to a new hair salon, but Kyle at Salt & Waves in Hutto is AMAZING! Making appointments online is so easy, and the overall vibe of the salon is great! For an added bonus, it's right next door to Dwell House, so you can order coffee drinks, beer, wine, and more from the stylist's chair! Since I've started going to Kyle, my husband and my mom have also made the switch to him. I'm lucky to live close by, but this salon would definitely be worth the drive! read more

I've been to the Leander location a couple of times and had a great experience, but did not have a good experience at this location. The girl who did my hair did a supremely half-ass job and it felt like I was being rushed out of the salon from the minute I sat in the chair. I'm sad because I don't think I'll be returning to either of their locations after this experience. read more

I am so happy that I found Katie Davis! I live in South Austin and make the drive up to Hutto to see her for a refresh every few months and I love my results every single time. Can't not mention the deep scalp massage/hot towel portion of the service - The eucalyptus scent is my favorite! The salon itself is super cute and I love that you can order drinks and snacks from the shop next door and they bring it right to your station. Always a treat getting my hair done here! read more

I booked an appointment for my wife at 6:15pm. We arrived at 6pm and Kourtney was ready to do her hair. We specifically asked for a trim about 2-3 inches. My wife repeatedly kept asking if she was gonna eventually cut her hair. She kept saying she was about to cut it but never did. My wife doesn't speak up much because she gets nervous. She came to the car upset not only because she didn't get what she came for but she felt as if she was being mistreated and rushed.I went in and asked Kourtney if she had cut my wife's hair. She responded with a "no because you all only asked for a blowout" even though we told her many times it was also a trim to remove split ends. She told me she could cut her her at that very second and I respectfully declined because my wife wasn't up for it. I asked for the manager and Kourtney said she was unavailable and was unsure when she would be in. I also asked for the managers number and Kourtney said she did not have the managers number. Very unprofessional in my opinion. To top off the horrible experience we have had here. Kourtney and her co workers were all laughing and happy of the devastation they made on my wife. I sit here in my car writing this with a heavy heart and as of right now (6:47) I see them locking up shop and leaving laughing together. They close at 8pm today January 16th, 2023. It is indeed proven that they were in such a rush to get out of there. Unrealistic. Thank you for the experience and I encourage any and all people to avoid this horrible customer service we were just dealt. read more
