Had dinner at the bar on a Wednesday. Fantastic service, wonderful creative cocktails and some great wine selections. The ambiance /decor was a bit weird/plain and undefinable. This was a fun spot--the change to mix both Chinese and American cuisine. My group decided to do a bit of both. We started off with a few seasonal drinks and wonton appetizers. We got the crab Rangoons first and they looked great and were cooked great, only issue was the filling was lacking to be kind. However, they made up for it with our meals. We were worried, after the Rangoons; but they were all cooked perfectly. The quality was great and for the price--job well done. We were served cold food that had so evidently crossed the temperature danger zone. I personally asked the waiter for heated food and still spent the weekend recovering from the poorly prepared meal we were served. As a tourist and visitor I am 100% certain that I will never patronize this business again. From the menu we ordered the salmon, lo mein, a side of mixed veggies, and egg drop soup. read more

Not only was the food some of the best we have had since moving down here to Kinston, but our waiter (sorry I don't remember your name) was a young man who was content to carry on a conversation with us "old people". I have only been to H.O.W. II a handful of times. The first few times I visited, the food was excellent. The short ribs were to die for. However, the last two times I have visited, I left very disappointed. The ribs weren't the same at all. The Asian dishes were bland. For the price you pay, it's quite the let-down when the food is sub-par. read more

Our party of 4 went on Friday night 5/7/2021. We were there for 3 hours. Waited 30 minutes to get our drinks and order. Only 4 other tables were full in our waitress' section. We finally got our entrees 15 minutes before we left. A total of 2 hours and 45 minutes waiting for food!!! Absolutely flavorless Sesame chicken with rice that looked like it had fallen between the cracks on the floor and someone swept it up and put in a bowl. Baked potatoes were cold. Broccoli was cold. A bug crawled out of the mixed veggies as we were paying to leave. Not once did anyone apologize for the wait. I don't mean to be a Karen, but I will NOT go back. Save your money!!! read more

This is my third time here and third time having the salman mary. The first time i had it it was luscious. It was right after they opened on a weekend night. Sauce was great crabmeat was plentiful. Everything about it was good. The second time was on tuesday the 14th of march, my daughters birthday. It was medicore at best. It was watery and bland. Decided to try it again this evening. It was alot better than the last time but very little crabmeat. The meal is not bad but inconsistent, especially for one of the most expensive items on the menu. I will be back but not for that. I would recommend this restaurant though. It is really nice with nice people. read more

Food has really declined in quality over the last year. I ordered over $75 in takeout and some of my order was left out, contacted management with no response. Ordered 2 separate dishes with shrimp, they were so over cooked they couldn't be eating. It was sickening, in fact my boyfriend did get sick. I myself have ordered Mongolian bed which was my favorite, the times now with a couple of month period it's been so gross, so much sauce it took 3 orders of rice to help soak it up and in the end I just threw it away. Extremely disappointed, I even specifically requested very light sauce, you couldn't even find the beef and there is such a things as way too much sauce. I have no other words to describe except for terrible. We have tried to give them a chance 4 additional times but each time it gets worse. The one consistent great entree is the steak. read more

HOW II is a great place for dinner and to meet friends in Kinston NC. The menu includes a great variety of both American and Asian dishes. My husband loves the steak. I like the seafood and Asian dishes. It is a friendly atmosphere with owners Ryan and Ernie checking on guests. Try the potstickers appetizer and the fresh salads and soups for starters and don't miss the desserts. HOW II also has a private room for parties and a bar. We definitely recommend HOWII! read more
