We went on a full day event at North Fork on 4/12/2021 just for a family of 4 and loved it so much. The guides talked about the Middle Fork, so we came back for another full day event at Middle Fork on 6/9/2021 with the family plus my husband's niece for a total of 5. My family of four (the boys are 12 and 16) rafted the Middle Fork of the American River with Devin last week. It was an amazing day! The rapids, especially Tunnel Chute where we all took an unexpected swim, were legit! This is my second year with this company. Super friendly and professional staff, exciting and fun trip. Our guide Evan is amazing, he tells us a lot of landscaper and history and story. Me and my friend had a wonderful time! I also tried cliff jumping and swimming in rapid. I feel so good conquering my fear. The weather was a bit cooler than expected that day so I got so cold after felling down go the water. The staff gave me fleece and waterproof jacket so we are able to keep warm and have fun. Our family decided they wanted to do something different this summer so we decided to go rafting with this company. It was a total of 9 people ranging from 9-47. I took the half-day rafting trip with Janae, and it was an amazing experience from beginning to end. All safety measures were thoroughly explained, and the safety equipment was all in great condition and fit well. Janae did an excellent job guiding us; she explained what we needed to do on the boat, and also went through everything we needed to know before each rapid. I felt very secure, and in great hands. The water, rapids, the greenery and the rafting environment were so much fun. We were given opportunities to swim, jump, and experienced everything in full. Getting brownies and a cold water bottle at the end gave the whole trip such a personal touch. You could tell the level of care the guides had for each other and their clients was high. We chose to do the South fork with my family of 4 (17 yr old & 12 yr old). It was a perfect balance of thrill and fun for the family. Nikola was an incredible rafting guide. She was extremely knowledgeable of the river and put those nervous at ease. She was quick to read what our limits were (aka surfing). Her and Dave were the perfect match; they made us laugh the entire drive down to the river and we got to create a bond with them. As for planning, Fianna was amazing at her job. Gave us a great perspective as to what fork we should do. She was very patient and understanding as we have never done white water rafting before. This was our first time river rafting. We had a party of 14 people (5 families that all went together). The kids and adults had a blast!! The staff were super kind, supportive and made sure we were safe at all times. My wife fell into the water at one point and our guide Lexi moved quickly to pull her back into the boat and ensured safety. Lexi is AWESOME!!! As someone who had minimal experience river rafting in my hometown before, I truly wasn't sure what to expect for the middle fork of the American River. The few times I'd gone before was with family and friends: all where we had to do our own work with preparation, cleaning, camping, etc. Let's just say it's going to be VERY hard to ever have to do a trip like that ever again without H2O Adventures. I took my four children rafting last week on the Middle Fork of the American River with H2O. Steve was our guide for the day and I immediately knew we were in good hands. It was awesome! All five of us had a fantastic time and it was nice to see everyone smiling and having some adventure without their phones in their hands. Steve was an awesome guide. He was great with the children and kept our boat from flipping over with very detailed directions and patience with first time rafters. He was also interesting with lots of good conversation. He was very knowledgeable about the area and its history during the gold rush, the wiped out bridge, and the animal life. It was a beautiful day with some awesome class III and IV rapids, great weather, great food, very high quality equipment, and well organized logistically. We went for the north yuba river full day rafting experience on memorial day weekend. I called the company the day before and left the voice message. They matched the offer on groupon and waived the river fee and just got the booking done on phone. We reached at the address which was basically a strip mall in grass valley where the van with raft was waiting for us. It was about a 40 minute drive from where we would start the rafting . Person in the van was very friendly and explained the next steps. We stoped after about 30 minutes where we got wet suits. I was pleasantly surprised with the gear as I never got the full gear in my previous rafting experiences in tennessee and north carolina. There is no need to bring anything as the gear they provide is all you would need. We also got a fleece, helmet (with gopro adaptor), life jacket and water jacket. We even got a gear to protect our feet (donno wat exactly its called). Since there was bit of rain we were told that we would get the lunch at the end of the trip instead of at the middle of the run. We were provided with snacks before the rafting trip so that we would survive the full 11 mile run. Once we put on the gear it was another 10 minute drive where we would start the raft. We were provided with the safety instructions . The run itself was very scenic (north yuba run) and I can say this was the best rafting experience I have had. We stopped before the level 5 run (they cal it maytag) to view the flow and if everyone in the group was comfortable doing it. Few of the members in the group were not ready but eventually decided to do it . The flow was at its peak as it seems its one of the wettest season for may. Since the Yuba does not have dam this may be the highest flow they have had this year. It was pretty adventurous and I would not hesitate to do it again. Most of the rapids were level 3,4 with one level 5. We were about 3 to 3.5 hours on the river. After the run was over we were provided with the lunch and snacks which I thought was pretty good. We got a veggie burger as I had notified them about dietary restrictions the day before. Overall I am very satisfied with entire experience. We got the photos/video via dropbox couple of days later. Company did not charge for the photos which was great, as rafting companies I have dealt with before would charge extra for photos. read more

Today, I had the greatest adventure experiencing the 1/2 day South Fork American River lower gorge rafting trip. There were four rafts each with a guide. Kelly, Trevor, Pierce and Nate. We met at the River Bend Resort. We were suited up with helmets, life vests and oars. We were clearly explained safety rules and paddling commands. We then made our way down the river going over level 1 rapids and towards the end experiencing level 3 rapids. It was truly an adrenalin rush. When we arrived ashore at the end, we all got on a shuttle and we're driven back to the resort. I would do this again. read more

My friends and I went on an adventurous beginner course with Steve! We had so much fun and it was a very rewarding experience. Importantly, we felt safe and ready as beginners because Steve was so great in helping us understand the process, what we needed to do, and what to expect. The lunch was also wonderful, filling, and healthy. I loved the wraps especially the sauces and vegetable spread. All the other guides were so great and encouraging as well. What an amazing adventure this was! I went with coworkers on the Middle Fork of the American River on the 2-day trip...we were a group of 7. I've rafted before, but nothing compares to this 2-day overnight trip. Our rafting guide Ben was clear with paddling instructions and let us practice on the first day before the rapids. He was patient, funny, and very knowledgeable about the river and nature. He was a great guide and instructor. He got us working as a team and none of us fell out of the boat, which I was happy about. Ben--along with Dave & Trevor who handled the cargo raft--set up & took down camp and made wonderful meals. It felt so nice to relax and have everything taken care of. I was pleasantly surprised with the food as I was expecting camping food, but H2O Adventures went all out to provide delicious meals that included dessert. Because we did the 2-day trip we were able to take our time paddling down the river and stop for hikes. Both days we went on incredible waterfall hikes. I've done one full day of rafting before and that's fun, but going at our own pace and adding the hikes made it so much better. Tyler (the owner) joined us for the second day lunch and waterfall hike. We'd be marveling and taking pictures and splashing around in the waterfalls and Tyler would ask if we'd want to go on as it gets better. I couldn't believe the waterfall hike COULD get any better, but Tyler was right: each waterfall we got to was even more awesome than the one before. (And thanks, Ben, for catching me so I didn't slide down the waterfall.) Oh, and camping on the beach under the stars was so much fun! Ben, Dave & Trevor made it easy for us to relax and enjoy ourselves. And they all had a great sense of humor and put up with our crazy group. They really do make it the best day(s) ever! Amazing rafting with H2O adventures!! We had a fantastic time rafting the south fork of the American river with H2O Adventures. Zara our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It was our first time on the river rafting, Zara and Pheona were so patient , they gave us a crash course on rafting, a safety talk, and we were on our way. The first part of the trip was class2 rapids and some calm stretches. Zara is super knowledgeable about the birds and trees of the area and pointed out different birds and trees around the river. The second part of the trip was more of the class 3 rapids like Satan cesspool and Hospital bar, be ready for a boost of adrenaline. We had so much fun, there was so much water, Zara maneuvered the boat and ensured our boat did not flip. I would definitely come back again to raft the upper and middle fork with H2O and Zara. This was easily the best rafting trip I've ever gone on! My friend and I drove up from San Diego to have a relaxing weekend in Tahoe! We decided last minute to throw in a white water rafting day and it was incredible. Blake was the best! I definitely have some social anxiety so the fact that he made the conversation seem so natural made it even more awesome. He also warned us ahead of time of any upcoming rapids which helped ease our minds. Although we took a dive at the hardest rapid, it was thrilling! Scary... but fun! 6/3/22-had another great day with H20 Adventures. It's the only company we will ever use. There is a reason why this company has five stars. They never fail you. You always have a good time, the guides are always awesome, and I always felt safe. Today we had Steve "Heart" as our guide. He was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and everything he told us made me feel safe but excited about whatever was going to happen next. They all have their own personality and Steve is called Steve Heart because he hands out wooden hearts. Such a kind and positive thing to do. The class 3/4 Middle Fork rapids are very exciting. We went the full day and had a great time. With H20 Adventures they always go in groups of five or six rafts and you all stay together for safety purposes. Adds to the fun too. You take a lunch break halfway through. Food is wonderful. They really take care of you. And shout out to our driver who took us from Auburn past Foresthill down the windy roads. Very good driver This review was 5 years ago-Can't say enough about this company. We went down the South Fork last year for Fathers Day and this year we went down the Middle Fork. They have experienced guides. This year we had Tyler, last year Danielle, both are great. They make for a relaxing day knowing we are in good hands as they really know what they are doing. An enjoyable trip. We did the South Fork of the American River 1/2 Day Lower "Gorge" rafting trip on a hot day in July and it was an enjoyable day. The guides were great! They handled the rafts half full of 9 year old kids well, allowing them to swim/float in the river next to the raft when possible, yet prepared and safe for the rapids. The process of parking and getting on the water was handled well, despite it being a very busy day for them. The organization of the end of the trip and bus ride back to camp was very well run as well. They handed out cold water and fresh brownies, which was a nice touch. They have showers we could use, which was appreciated since we had a 2-3hr drive back home. They offered restaurant suggestions before we left. We go through some intense rapids (meat grinder and trouble maker are the name of couple lol), but embrace the thrill of it and know you're in good hands. Prepare to get soaked during this time of year, but H2O provides with you high quality gear (wet suits, splash guards, and of course life jackets and helmets). 9/7/20 This was my first time ever rafting and let me tell ya, it was literally the BEST DAY EVER Especially since Covid. I think Keegan ( our guide) really made the experience even more enjoyable. We were on class 2/3 rapid in the south fork and even my friends, who'd been rafting before , said Keegan really made the day better. He's a new guide so he's more wild ( but the good kind) To the point I HAD TO COME BACK. 9/25/2020 This time I wanted to try and even crazier river so I went to the middle Fork which is class 3/4 rapids. We were fortunate enough to get paired with Ben , who lemme tell you is a DAMN GOOD GUIDE. I felt super safe with him as this was a crazier river. He's a super chill guy. If your Nervous or just scared I highly recommend, he knows his shit. That day I got to jump off a huge rock, ride the front of the boat during a rapid (aka bull ride) Ohhhh but this is not the end of my rafting adventures I had to go back for MORE ( it's so freaking funnnnnnnnnnnn) 10/11/2020 At this point I can't stop it's just way to much fun. So my I got my friend hook in it as well so this time she brought her 10 year old son ( who had a blast and wants to come back ). We went on the south fork , different then the first one, and we had Hippie aka Jeff as our guide. He's a dope ass dude n' easy to vibe with. He's also a great guide. Let me just say that all of these guys we're awesome and made my experience so damn good I had to go back again and again ...... This is an amazing company with amazing peps.
