H2O was amazing! Dave "Peaches" was our guide! He was hilarious and professional at the same time! We rafted down the Middle Fork of the American River! We met our group at Raley's in Auburn. The drive down to the river was about an hour. Once there, the team explained everything from wearing our PFD's to what to do if you get thrown out of the raft! We had such a fun time navigating the rapids! The chute was amazing! Dave explained our surroundings along the way! They had Cliff bars for us as a mid-morning snack! The weather was perfect and the water felt wonderfully refreshing with the Northern California heat! We stopped for lunch, prepared for us by the guides! Delicious and healthy--bathrooms were clean and didn't smell! The second half of the trip is a little more mellow, so Dave kept us entertained by his stories! We had to get out of the raft so our he could navigate Ruck a Chuckie; that was a sight to see! We also pulled over so our boys could jump off a rock, which they loved! We had an awesome time! Camping and rafting with H2O was hands down awesome!! I booked the reservation over the phone with Fiona who was a pleasure to work with for locking in all the logistics. The campground was spacious, the community kitchen had everything I needed to feel at home, comfortable and welcomed as their guest. The rafting trip was a blast, especially with Josh (Hippie (sp?) as our guide. He was super informative about many facets of the river, each rapid and gave us a variety of ways to approach each one depending on everyone's willingness to take the riskier approach and luckily everyone was pretty open minded to having fun and falling off the boat several times including myself at a nameless mini rapid--haha! Even more special, I got to be the lead paddling up front! I highly recommend rafting with H2O and I can't wait to go again in spring for the Yuba River north fork! read more

This is the BEST company to go rafting with, plus they're LOCAL. They have high quality equipment and the highest quality guides. They are fun and knowledgable, they have true passions for white water! We did the middle fork American recently, Ben was our guide and he is PHENOMENAL. My mom was so terrified at the beginning and he walked her through everything and explained the instructions thoroughly. She left feeling like a pro and brave as heck! Give these guys a call, they'll recommend what area is best for your group and give you a great price! Don't waste your time and money on any other company (I should know since this was my fourth time on this river and they're the best!) We went as a small group of 3 this week and Dave our guide was great! I was pretty nervous at some points and he did great and reminded me we were all working as a team. We made it safely and wow was it awesome and the surroundings were gorgeous! Ted who was in the "safety" canoe was great to watch, I cannot believe how effortlessly he made it look. The owner Tyler was there before and after with refreshments, nice guy. Thanks to Dave for teaching us the ropes, giving us a good time and keeping us safe!! My husband already wants to go back! H20 adventures gave us a memorable time. They accommodated 9 of us. We split up in 2 boats and we had Eric as a guide. He made the trip fun and has years of experience. The company provided us with a good lunch of pizza and fruit which included water and juices. We haven't seen the pics online yet but we are looking foward to see how they came out. Our boat did flip once and some of us fell in the water but it was a family experience we won't forget. Shout out to the driver he was a nice guy as well. This was our first time rafting and WOW! what an experience. Our guide was Eric and he made it superfun for our 12 and 10 yr. old. He made sure we're safe but not compromising the fun. You can't go wrong with any guide as the 3 other rafts which were also rafting with us were very informative and entertaining everyone with their humor. H2O has wonderful staff all the way from checking in to giving instructions before you begin. They had clean restrooms and shower area so you don't go back dirty or wet back to your car. We went on a weekday so parking wasn't an issue and I think it should not be a problem even if you go on a weekend as it seems plenty. TIPS: Apply enough sunblock as there's no shade Be on time so you could try out the life jacket, helmets and listen to instructions. Don't carry any valuables even if you're comfortable to put them in waterproof container or ziplock. Carry your own bottle (store bought, as it might flip out) even though guides do carry water but it's in a steel bottle to share (if you're ok with that). Make sure to tip the guides. read more

Went down for a day trip. I had Dave as my tour guide. He was awesome, we went rafting, jumped off rocks, and one person even got to "ride the bull" or ride on the front of the raft when we went down the rapids. Was totally worth it, I feel llike I got my moneys worth !!! read more

This was our first time white water rafting and we were nervous and excited! Zara was our guide and Teal was our safety guide. Zara was very accommodating and explained safety before we got on the raft. She kept us safe and was very clear about what we would be getting into before we approached big waves. It was a blast!!! Whoa!!! We went on the BEST rafting trip this past weekend with Natalie as our guide. We were a group of 3 adults and 4 kids (ages 9, 9, 7 and 7). H2O adventure operations were seamless. Easy to check in, get equipment, do a safety briefing and then on our way to riding some awesome white water! My youngest daughter was a bit apprehensive at first but Natalie was so good with the kids that she was able to play different games with them and keep them engaged! My daughter woke up the next day and said "I want to go rafting with Natalie again!" Thanks again for such an amazing trip! I don't usually write reviews but our experience with H2O was definitely worthy. Dave was our guide he was awesome, very knowledgeable and a cool guy who was able to do the impossible by putting up with my mom talking his ear off for the entire 8 hours!! However I wonder if the few times we flew out of the raft didn't have anything to do with that?!?!? Prior to our trip I purchased three Groupons that expired before our trip 100% my fault however Tyler was more than accommodating applying those to our trip saving us hundreds of dollars. He always asked if we wanted to do fun things like surf the rock or jump off the rocks, etc. and he told very entertaining stories. I really liked that he prepared us for each rapid coming up - telling us what to expect. He also knew a lot about the area as he has been rafting the rivers since he was a kid. My experience with H2O was amazing. I had never been before and had it in me to try. I couldn't find anyone to go with me so I signed up myself. I went the last week of July. Everything about the experience with amazing! It was hot but the water so refreshing, so timing with nature was perfect! The guide for our boat was Jeremy. He was so much fun. A mix of interesting California gold rush history and playful fun! His steering was amazingly spot on, he really knows the river. I was concerned about not knowing anyone on the boat but doing the 21 miles together, we created a bond. I am in my early 60s and am the adrenaline junky, albeit a little less daring. I felt safe and had fun. There was a 10 year old on the boat and he had a great time too! read more

H2O Adventures provided hands down the most epic camping/rafting trip my friends and I have ever experienced. Campground: The campground area was amazing! You have to park a little away from your campsite but they provide a few wheelbarrows to help cart your gear to your site. At our site we found a outdoor kitchen hookup that came fully equipped with a bbq pit (propane included), kitchen sink, soap, dishes and tables, trash bags. Our site was right along the river where we had access to swim and float about 20' from our site. There was hammocks in the trees and cornhole game set up for anyone to use at each site. H2O Rafting: Wow! What an experience! It was my friends and my first time rafting so we had absolutely no idea what we were getting ourselves into! Tyler picked us up from the campsite in his shuttle van and drove us down to the river where all the rafts were. There we were given detailed safety instructions. Our raft guide LINDSAY was amazing! She made us all feel safe on our ride down the river. We did hit a rock that tossed a few of us into the water but within moments Lindsay was able to grab them and pull them back into the boat to safety! I would definitely ride the river again with her as our guide. What an adrenaline rush! We had an AMAZING time and can't wait to book another trip! read more

These guys are awesome! We did the half day trip and had a total blast. H2O Is a smaller company and they operate like a family. Everyone were very friendly and helpful. This is a pro because they travel in smaller groups compared to the bigger companies. This way we didn't have to stop and wait around for other boats. Our river guide Keegan was the best, super skilled, knowledgeable and had great energy. We were definitely in great hands. He made the trip exciting and fun with lots of jokes. We got to jump from a cliff and swim a raffle. When we reached our destination, we were met with delicious homemade brownies and a bus waiting to take us back to our car. It was a beyond perfect day. We had the best morning on the river. Our guide, Anne, was top notch and gave us all the information we needed to have a really fun and safe day on the water.
