We came here for a special date night and were really looking forward to a relaxing tandem session -- unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming due to a key part of it not working. We booked the two-hour tandem pod experience, and everything seemed fine until the very end when we asked the staff about a button we had been pressing throughout that never did anything. She told us it was supposed to activate the starry night ceiling lights, which sounded beautiful... but we never got to see it because the button simply didn't work. When we brought this up, the staff checked and confirmed that it should have been working, but it wasn't. She offered to show us how it's supposed to look in Pod 1, but even that wasn't fully functional -- only half the lights turned on. We were offered a $10 discount, which honestly felt a bit dismissive given that a major part of the ambiance we paid for wasn't available. Overall, it's disappointing that we spent two hours expecting something that never happened -- and weren't really told or checked on until we brought it up ourselves. The space and concept are nice, and maybe it's better when everything works. But for our first time and a date night, it felt more like a letdown than the relaxing experience we hoped for. read more

I had such a lovely experience! I took my mother here for Mother's Day, this was both of our first times trying float therapy. The staff were very kind and friendly. The atmosphere walking in was nice, they explained everything in details, you then have your own private room with a shower too. We chose the starry night experience, it was lovely for our first time as we did not want to do a full isolation yet. Treated my boyfriend and I to a couples massage and a float (cloud package for $309) for Vday! This was our first time floating and the experience was memorable. From the moment we walked in until we left, the service was impeccable. Everyone greeted you and offered tea/water/anything to make you feel comfortable. The amenities and rooms were also very clean. So first off, we had the massage (1hr) and then the float(1hr)-which were recommended by other yelpers and I totally agree! Massages were excellent and 100% recommended for the ultimate relaxation. I had Françoise and my bf has Cho. They did trigger point massage and relieved so much tension! Felt so refreshed and literally became jellies. (Thank you so much!) Afterwards, we hopped into the tub for our float and it was so soothing. The water was warm and we had the option of adjusting the lights or the music. One thing that bothered me was that the rooms were slightly suffocating (I have asthma) and maybe 1hr was a bit too much for me as I craved fresh air. When we were done, we had ample time to shower, relax in the hallways with ginger tea or espresso and to get dressed. I'm rating the business 5-star and not the experience of floating itself. The business is located on the Danforth, not far from the pizza pizza, just around the corner from Broadview station. Although it took me 5 call attempts in a row to get someone to finally pick up, once someone got on the phone they were very pleasant. Be aware that if you don't cancel 24 hours ahead of your appointment, they will charge you in full because they take your credit card to secure the booking. The business is nice and clean and simple. They have a separate SHARED change- and locker room but you can just change right in your room where your float pod and shower is. You can choose to have a open concept float room where you are not in a pod and more like a pool. No price difference. In your shower there are shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers. During your experience you can choose to have music on or off, or a colored light in your pod. *You float naked* Word of the wise do not get the salt water on your face or near your eyes because it burns a lot. But for this, they provide a rag and salt-free water to spray your face with and to wash your eyes out. So basically don't dip your face into the water with your eyes closed for a facial, because the salt water will seep into your eyes after you open your eyes. Something to think about, this water is not flushed out after you're done using it. It is filtered. However when people are laying in there, you don't know what unhygienic or freaky things they are doing in there, even if they took a shower first. There are gross people out there. I'll be interested to know how often they test for E.coli in the pods if at all. It doesn't seem very hygienic to me. Overall I would like to say I was a very aware that I was in a tank. I didn't feel like I was in zero gravity or out in space. After 30 minutes I was ready to get out of there. I found that it didn't have any impact on me even when I try deep breathing exercises and to meditate. You could ALMOST replicate this experience at home in your tub with the exception of the amount of salt to put in the water. If you like this experience then yes I would recommend this place, but other than this, I wouldn't recommend you wasting your money on float tanks anywhere. Save $75 and just meditate at home in a dark and quiet room. read more

The massuese was very good. The space is nice. However the floating pod was very disappointing. The water was luke warm to tepid. After 15 mins i had goose bumps and was shivering. They said they could not adjust the temperature. So I paid for an hour and used 15 minutes. They also have barely any water in the pod. I'm not even a person who likes very hot showers so for the water to be cool to me, its cool. I mentioned all of this to the reception they did not apologize or offer to discount. read more

We came to H20 Float Spa for my boyfriend's birthday and participated in the Cloud 9 couple's package - an hour long massage in the style of your choosing, and then an hour long couple's float. The experience was pretty good! I would definitely recommend the location for massage, and will say that the float experience was fine but not really for me. The location is really pretty small - you check in at the front desk in the lobby, and then are taken through a hallway which leads right to the changing and massage/float rooms. I do wish there was more separation between the entry/lobby area and the rest of the spa - it somewhat takes away from the relaxation experience when you can so directly hear people coming in off the street while you're sitting there in your robe waiting to be led to your massage/float. They try to combat this with oil diffusers, refreshments, plants, comfortable furniture, etc. but for me the spa atmosphere is still lost a little bit with this layout. The changing rooms are very nice quality and have little individual stalls outfitted with a variety of toiletries (including spray on deodorant, which I really appreciated since I forgot mine!) along with a wall of lockers to secure your belongings. We started with the massage, so that our hair would not be wet from the float during it. I've personally never had a massage before, so I was interested to see how the experience went. Hanna and Francoise asked us about our massage preferences (pressure, trouble areas), and then left the room for us to disrobe and get under the sheets. The room itself was clean, minimalist and tasteful in decor. When they returned, they started off with warming us up by rubbing over the sheets, and expertly draped the sheets depending on which area of the body they were focusing on at the time to minimize exposure. The massage oils they used were heated perfectly, which was very luxurious for us. My favorite parts of the massage were the attention to the hands and face/scalp area, which I now know to ask for more of in the future! Hanna and Francoise continually checked in with us regarding pressure, but other than that it was an hour of quiet and relaxation for us to zone out and enjoy ourselves. Could not have enjoyed the massage experience more, would give Hanna and Francoise a 5 star review. The float experience was a bit less enjoyable, for me at least. We were led to a room that included a large tub to fit the two of us, and given instructions regarding showering before and after the float, using the silicone ear plugs to prevent water from entering our ears, adjusting the lighting, and general information about the float experience itself. Upon taking a quick shower before using the float tub, we noticed that the silicone ear plugs from the person before us were sitting on top of the soap dispenser in the shower stall instead of being thrown out - skeeved me out, and made me question how hygienic the experience could be since obviously the room isn't well attended between guests. Floating itself was just kind of...lackluster. The room is kept very warm and humid and the water is supposed to be kept at body temperature, to create the sensation of sensory deprivation. For me personally, it was just kind of boring! Maybe someone more experienced in mindfulness or meditation would get more out of the experience, but for me it just felt like laying naked in a shallow tepid pool in a super hot humid room. Additionally, try your best to not get any water on your face! The epsom salt concentration in the tub is very high, and I must've gotten some water onto my face which dripped onto my lips. Tastes TERRIBLE! We ended up getting out of the tub after about 20 minutes. Glad we tried it because it sounded cool, but more novelty than actual interesting experience for us. Being a curious and young student stressed out from school, I wanted to give floating a try. I was welcomed to a very serene environment by the front desk. As my appointment began, I was asked to remove my shoes and head to the back and change. Changing rooms were well-suited and their waiting room was very accommodating. Being a first-time floater, I was very curious about how it works. One of the workers was readily able to explain the steps to me and the buttons and so on. Before entering the pod, you have to take a quick shower and you'll have an hour in the pod. My pod experience was...interesting. I was definitely floating on the water due to the epsom salt and I guess my skin felt smoother. Although, I didn't feel completely mesmerized nor tranquil. I felt no difference to myself. According to the spa, you need to follow-up with more consistent floats to truly feel the benefits. As logical as that sounds, I'm not the type of person to invest in floating sessions as of right now. Albeit, my stay at the H2O Float Spa was a pleasant one. read more

My partner and I tried the couples Hydro Float & Massage for $350. Luckily, our insurance covered both or else, it would just be too expensive to pay out of pocket. If you have extended health benefits, ask your insurance if they cover: "Hydrotherapy Massage Treatments administered by an RMT" This was both our first time floating. I was super excited to try it because I read great reviews about it. The spa itself is very clean and inviting. The décor was very soothing and the colours used was very spa like. The staff was nice and friendly. As other yelpers have mentioned, there is no individual area for people to change in the change room. You just have to do it in front of everyone. It was awkward, but do-able. I would recommend having an area for those that are uncomfortable to change in the open in the future. The spa provides robes and slippers. We went to the waiting area and helped ourselves to water, ginger tea, and coffee. They also had tangerines. Our massages were excellent. We both liked the RMTs that worked on us. In fact, we have booked another appointment with them because they were both so good! The price for the massage is industry standard. After the massage, we went to do our float. You have the option of floating first before the massage as well, but the staff recommended the massage first because then you won't have wet hair. I liked this as well because my muscles got a chance to relax in the pool. We did the couples float so we went to a private room with a medium size pool and shower. We were told to put on ear plugs so that the salt water does not get into our ears. The staff told us we could call them on the intercom to turn off all the lights. We took a quick rinse in the shower and hopped in. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the float experience because the salt really itched my skin. I had to take multiple showers to be able to go back in the pool. The salt water did not relax my skin, which was surprising for me. My partner liked it more, but find the salt irritated his skin after the float was over. We spoke to the staff after who said this is not a common experience, but the amount of salt that's in the pool could irritate someone's skin. I think the float experience is great for someone that does not have an issue with salt water. The pool itself stimulated a nice calming river and it is nice to be "offline" for the hour. I told my friend about this experience and she said it sounded like being in a mother's womb. What a visual. It was a beautiful day outside and the gf wanted to go to H20 Float Spa. I had no idea what to expect, except floating. I entered the front door to be greeted by the owners. They were quite friendly and informative on how Float Spa worked. There are solo pods that close up and have interior lighting for individual floaters, and there is a tub for multiple floaters that have lighting in the tub for a more relaxing atmosphere. It is also optional to have it pitch black. So we went in the tub and it was like it was impossible to sink into the water. There was about 10 kgs of Epsom Salt in the tub. So word of advice don't get it in your eyes, ears (earplugs), mouth, or nose. If you have any open wounds use the Vaseline they provide you. So I personally liked it pitch black because I could fall asleep in the water. Unfortunately since I was sharing the tub with the gf and she preferred the lighting of the tub, we kept it on and I didn't get to fall asleep. After it was all done we (gf) noticed smoother and softer skin. Overall I would say this is a great place to experience at least once in your life. The only thing holding me back from continuing to revisit often is the price as it takes a bit of a toll on the wallet to snooze in water. Again that's just my opinion. It was $90 for the both of us for an hour and a half. $45 per person, and this was the price for happy hour. All in all a good time. Namaste! read more

The feeling would be best described as floating in the womb; you're warm, weightless and once you allow yourself to really loosen up and relax to the max, it's like being in a meditative state. I can't even seem to be able to get my foot into the door. I really wanted to try this out but the communication is just horrible. I tried calling many times morning, afternoon and evening and the phone barely gets picked up (once every 3 times it does). And when it does my questions never get answered. I've been told many times "the person who can answer it isnt here right now i'll let them call you back" which never happened. and my emails went unreplied. I then made a booking 2 weeks in advance. A week later I got a call saying that I needed to change the date. I refused and they worked something out where I can still keep my appointment. I called them 3 days in advance and they said it was still ok. But the day before the appointment I got a call saying that I can no longer come! I really wanted to try this but I don't think I will be trying to book an appointment here again! It was very frustrating read more

Fantastic spot. If you haven't floated, you must. If you're checking out H2O on Yelp, I will assume that you know enough about what floating is. I've floated here 3 times now and everything is awesome. Pros: -atmosphere is super clean, calming and spacious -float pods are very clean and comfortable -open concept rooms are relaxing and a nice size if you want some space to stretch or tend to feel claustrophobic in a pod -float rooms are nice, good showers and hygiene products -the ginger tea before and espresso after are perfection Cons: -only one hour to float, would be nice to have a 90 minute option -you will definitely hear the subway trains, or at least feel them vibrating, every few minutes.... It is not as big of a distraction as you would think, but fact is it would just be better without those sounds and vibrations Neutral: -have had massages from two of their RMTs so far and I didn't particularly like either of them...I don't want to call out anyone specific but I think the RMTs should just talk less...I'm coming there to unwind and detach from the world, so ideally I would like almost NO conversation at all during the massage :) it's my fault, really, because I should take responsibility to tell them this beforehand... read more

Upon entering H20, I found it beautifully decorated with friendly staff who evidently work hard to keep the place looking clean. They have everything you need in the change rooms--blow dryer, makeup remover, lockers with a removable key for you to bring in to your float room, etc. One thing that my boyfriend was a little uncomfortable about was the fact the change rooms are fully open and anyone could walk in and see you in your birthday suit. This didn't bother me too much but I can understand how this would be a little nerve-wracking for some people who like privacy. After getting in and relaxing my body, I noticed a muffled, powerful noise that sounded somewhat like thunder. It stopped after about 20-25 seconds and so I just ignored it. But low and behold, 10 minutes later the rumble came again. I began to wonder where it was coming from a quickly realized it was the sound of the subway, right below! Overall, everything was perfect aside from the location--they really dropped the ball on that one. Unfortunately I need silence to get the most out of floating so I do not think I will visit again. read more

Purchased a block of three sessions here. The owner took her time showing me around and explaining the process and afterwards, brought me a nice hot cup of ginger tea and chatted with me. On subsequent visits, no one brought me ginger tea and no one chatted with me. On my third visit, there was quite a bit of unprofessional chatting going on at the front desk. I would recommend floating to anyone who seeks a means to relax and completely unwind. They've put a lot of thought into this place and it shows in the cleanliness and attention to detail. I love the shower gel! The first visit will be awkward. Any muscular tension will be magnified tenfold. I had to cradle my head. I felt lighter and more clear headed after I was done. The second visit was better. Less cradling. More relaxation. Third visit was so relaxing. No cradling necessary. I tried both the pod and the open concept room. Both are very nice. And yes, I could hear the subway occasionally, so chances are, your not going to get a complete sensory deprivation experience here. I'd try this place out one more time. read more

I found the reception staff, ambiance and facilities to be top notch. The float itself was more than satisfactory. The lack of music in the larger pool room due to a broken sound system controller coupled with a wide range of external noises ( the nearby subway could not be helped and was not too loud) diminished the experience somewhat. I had floating there. They have open concept bathtub and a capsule. I got open concept. Open concept is also good for couples. There is a shower in the room. They provide towels, bathrobe, flip-flops, shampoo, etc. You spend there up to 75 min (60 min of floating and 15 min shower). It's like an imitation of the Dead Sea - you float in 30 cm of water and don't touch the bottom of the bathtub. I really liked it. You can also have a complementary tea, water and mandarins after the treatment. It's amazing and relaxing and at the very good price. I will definitely come back there. The only thing to improve is please fix the radio/speaker in the room. I had to use my phone to listen to relaxing music as the speaker in the room didn't work. read more

I'm totally mixed on how I feel about this situation. The spa is beautiful, clean, and friendly. At first glance, everything seems like it'll be just perfect. The tank itself is probably more than you might expect. Sleek, comfortable, and futuristic. The one problem here is one that I don't think they can fix- the subway. They seem to have almost everything else figured out in terms of how to enhance the experience, but every 3-4 minutes you can hear the rumble of the subway beneath you. This completely shifts the experience of the sensory deprivation tank. I have to say that every time the subway rolled by I completely snapped out of the state that I was blissfully entering (and at times it seemed like the world outside was ending). Unfortunately with the rumbling the experience will never been as good as it should. If they relocated away from the subway I'd definitely be back for the prices they are requesting. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to get the subway out of my head next time. Still highly recommended for the experience, but if you are looking for a 100% sensory deprivation experience, I'd say this comes in at 80%. read more

Located on the Danforth right above the subway line is definitely convenient to get to however not enjoyable when you hear the rumbling of the subway every minute - literally. It's supposed to be a sensory deprivation experience and I definitely was not able to relax and enjoy it. The crappier part was when I was asked how my experience was from the reception I was honest and said I was disappointed. I was not able to relax fully and basically cut the float short to half hour - I explained why. I was told ... "well the time of day, being that it's rush hour probably did not help" & "we are talking to our contractor to figure out a solution, maybe put the pods on something".
