I had booked appointments for myself and my 3-year-old daughter--a dry style and a kids blowout--because we had a mother/daughter beach photo session scheduled. Unfortunately, due to a poor weather forecast, our photos were rescheduled to the following day. I called to see if it would be possible to move our appointments to Monday, but was told the salon is closed. I then asked if we could switch to other services, like pedicures or waxing, since getting our hair done before a day of swimming (on Monday) would be a complete waste of time and money, not to mention unnecessary heat styling. I was told only hair stylists were available and no alternatives could be offered. I also asked if I could receive a credit for a future appointment and still be charged that day, but this request was denied as well. I understand and respect the need for cancellation policies. However, these were two concurrent 30-minute appointments, and the complete lack of flexibility--even for a long-time, loyal client--was disappointing. I was told there were no exceptions and that I would be charged in full. As someone who has frequented this business for a decade, I would have hoped that loyalty might carry some weight. It feels short-sighted to risk losing a long-standing customer over two 30-minute services. Unfortunately, this experience has changed my perception, and I won't be returning to Cloud 10 in the future.

I have been using Britney for…read moreat least 3 years & because I am severely immune compromised I needed a covid safe hairdresser who would wear a respirator. I found Brittney originally through a Facebook group when inquiring where to find a covid safe hair stylist & she answered. Britney's son is also immune compromised so she understands and has no problem wearing a K95 or N95. I was able to the first appt with Brittney which for immune compromised is best when there are less people in the bldg & she is very accommodating. Brittney does beautiful work with cut & color and she understands hair health. I have always been covering up my greys and my dark hair however when recovering from Long Covid I had severe breakage & hair loss and Brittney said we should wait to color it again because the hair was too weak. Prior to getting long covid we had done things like keratin treatments & relaxers to smooth out my frizzy curls. I was really excited when after many months of recovering we were finally able to color my hair again to cover the greys. Many hair dressers will take someone's money & just color it but Brittney is looking at the long game with the health of your hair and so you can keep it in the best shape possible. I am always very happy with the cut & style Brittney does & being able to color it again finally has given me confidence back after the damage Covid has done to my once beautiful hair. Brittney will suggest shampoos & conditioners to take home which I often have bought but she is never pushy about it. I have recently 2 covid conscious local aquaintances to her and I'm not yet sure if they have gone but I know having a hair dresser who understands hair health is very important. I would recommend wearing a Kn95 or Kn94 with ear loops because it is easier for Brittney or any hair dresser to cut & wash & condition & color your hair with the ear loops versus the respirators with the headstraps. I just double my K95s. I also bring in a mini hepa filter as well as a mini mobile far uvc light because I'm not sure what the ventilation system is in the bldg. There are several stations hairdressers & beauty professionals can rent from which is an interesting concept. I would just suggest to the owner of the building to look into the Grants from the EPA for clean air healthy bldgs & invest in upper room Far UVC light and have it on the the ceiling or wall of each station. Not all Far UVC requires an electrician to install but you do want it filtered & UL certified for safety. I would also recommend every station have a hepa filter as well in addition to Far UVC Light. The UV lights used in HVAC systems are good for mold & mildew but not airborne pathogens only Far UVC stops transmission. Having all 3 is ideal and many bldg owner aren't yet aware they can get grants through the EPA.
