Ordered: - Baja Tacos - I liked this one, but I don't know why but I do gravitate towards seafood tacos whenever it's available. - Castacan Tacos - Crispy pork belly was a little too fatty for me. - Fuego Marino Tostada - Honestly all the tostadas were pretty good - Tulum Tostada - Rey Marino Tostada - Ashes of the Sea - This one was ok. Located at the edge of the property by the beach. It is the go to spot for seafood. This was located right next to our room so we went here pretty often. While we were waiting for our food, they always brought over guac and chips. The ambiance is nice. I'd say it's the nicest out of all the restaurants because it is literally right by the sand and you could easily throw your cup into the water from where you sit (don't do this lol) They have a bar that serves everything (beer, cocktails, wine, alcohol free beverages, etc). The servers are all nice and helpful. The food is what highlights this place. Very VERY delicious fish and seafood. They have oyster shooters too. Located towards the end of the beach. This restaurant was right next to our room. If you're looking to feel the ocean breeze and be close to the shore, this is your place. They also had fans all around in case the temperature picks up. Before dining, the server always ask if we had any food allergies. This restaurant specializes in seafood. While we're waiting for our food, each table was served chips and guac. The chips were super crispy. I wish they also had salsa to go with it - maybe I should have asked. They have a bar that serves cocktails, beer, wine, and alcohol free drinks. The sergeant pepper cocktail was not spicy, and a little bland. I enjoyed my rose lemonade, which was a nice change from all the water and orange juice I've been drinking. The top seller is the booster zhot; it's octopus with their house recipe cocktail sauce. It was super flavorful - I highly recommend it. As for the food, I really liked my baja tacos. There was a nice batter around the fish. The chipotle dressing did the trick. The fish tacos, ceviche, all other tacos and small plates were all to our liking. Flavors and presentation was beautiful. The hostess, waiters and cooks were friendly and attentive! Quick note because some people don't seem to realize it: this restaurant is only available to people staying at the all inclusive Hyatt Ziva So out in Mexico on the beach, you have the options of a French, Chinese or Italian restaurants...none of them are bad, but unsurprisingly the seafood taco spot rises above them. What we did find out quick is that your enjoyment of Habaneros is directly tied to one thing - the weather. We came here often for lunch during our vacation, but the heat and humidity was so intense my son later came down with heat exhaustion and I had a sun rash. Habaneros is outdoors with limited shade and one of the fans they have was broken, so make sure to keep that in mind if you're sensitive to the temperature. Among their items is a deep fried catch of the day. This is a really good option, but the fish depends on supply. On our first day they had red snapper but we didn't order it, then it didn't show up again the rest of the trip. Other days they had tilapia or mojarra (another whitefish). The star here though are the tostadas and ceviche. Partly because they're nice and cold to contrast with the heat, but it's hard to beat fresh seafood when you have a beautiful beach view. The tacos are good, but I think the steak taco beats out the shrimp and fish ones. They're only open for lunch, but they're open relatively late (I believe until 4pm) which is nice if you're enjoying your time swimming before getting some food. The wait is much shorter later on too. Definitely don't miss this spot. read more

If you don't eat anywhere else, eat here! This place is amazing. My friends and I ate here for most lunches of our trip and we still wanted more before we left. I basically tried everything on the menu over the course of our 8 days, so instead of recapping every dish, I will share my highlights and recommendations: Fish Ceviche: Fish marinated in lemon with pico de gallo, cucumber & chili mayonnaise - so fresh and delicious, and the sauce is incredible with the perfect blend of spice and flavor to offset the fish. I ordered this every single time. Flank steak Tacos: Marinated accompanied with caramelized onion - I tried every taco here and these are by far my favorite. Fried fish: Fresh Mojarra fish - if you aren't scared of eating a whole fish, this one's for you. I ordered it after seeing another table with this dish on my first visit and am so glad I did. It's probably the best dish here. Very simple, but excellently seasoned and cooked golden brown and to perfection. Deviled shrimps: Creamy sauce with a touch of chipotle - again, if you aren't scared of eating seafood in its natural form, this is another dish for you! The shrimp are a great size and come with shelled and with the head. Suck on the head a bit and make sure you eat all the delicious sauce that's covering the shrimp. Quite delicious! The bar has a couple swings too,which is so fun but also my favourite margarita options were from this area. I had the aguachile here which was super yummy, as well as the Tuna tosatadas which I have to say we're on 2 toastadas but large! The others had tacos, my partner enjoyed the steak and chicken ones. You really can't beat the view though, it's literally on the beach and so convenient. The best!!! When you are in the crazy heat and want that ceviche all day, you come here! Comfortable, cool, breezy seating. It's outdoor and it's covered. You can also sit inside but it's still have that indoor/outdoor patio thing. So you feel pretty good. Employees have masks on! The menu is simple. All things ceviche- ( Total 7 or 8) , tacos and then some. I came mainly for ceviche's so I ordered all the ceviche on the menu. Some were great, some were a ok. My favorite was aguachilles and the halibut. Get their inhouse habaneros salsa. it is SO hot! They were hesitant to give me second round of it but it was amazing. I also tried their tacos. Tacos were good, I was a little too full. Drinks were strong. And the best part is that you are on the beach seating. Sand between your toes, nice shade and chairs. It was pretty fun. i love this place! i came like almost every day for lunch during the week i stayed here. the dress code is dry casual but if you don't have a cover up, they let you sit at the tables in the sand. i especially loved their ceviche rosarito, habanero, and baja fish tacos. the only thing is the fish they use for their ceviche is a hit or miss. sometimes it was really good but other times it was chewy. they also serve delicious drinks here. my favorite was the hibiscus ginger margarita. read more

Amazing ambiance with location right by the water. Our servers were very kind! Complimentary chips and guacamole - 3/5 - chips tasted stale and as if they were cooked in old oil. Guac was okay. Cilantro salsa was amazing. We decided to get an assortment of tacos to try (typically they come three to an order but we were able to mix and match). Tinga tacos - 3/5 - Not the best tinga we have had, but it was fine. Tacos de Cris - 5/5 - Delicious and packed with shrimp, cheese and refried beans. A must-get. My boyfriend and I went to this little outdoor restaurant while waiting for our room to be cleaned after checking in. All employees are wearing masks and gloves. Customers are only asked to wear masks when entering. This restaurant has a great view since it's right on the beach and has a bar area with swings! Very Instagram worthy! The drinks were phenomenal, but, the food was mediocre at best. We ordered beef tacos and ceviche. We were provided with chips and salsa/guacamole to start off with. The guacamole was disappointing and I was expecting it to be much better in Mexico than in California. The taco shells tasted kind of bland and the beef was pretty chewy. My fam and I had lunch at Habaneros and it was absolute perfection on a beach day. I have a seafood allergy and still enjoyed my meal despite the slightly limited options. To start, the hut is very nicely located right on the beach, so we had a lovely view of the water literally just a couple yards away. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant; I really felt like I was on vacation mode. Our "table bread" was chips with two salsas and guacamole. This was spectacular. The tortilla chips were unmatched to what I've had here in the U.S. Even though most menu items were seafood, the waiters and kitchen did not let any of my items get cross contaminated. I ordered a Zucchini Tiradito and the skirt steak tacos. The zucchini tiradito was gorgeously presented and incredibly flavorful. It was bright from the citrus, tangy, and had a slight kick from the chili. My skirt steak tacos were the best I've had and I don't think I'll have anything like them again. My family got the Habanero and Fish Ceviche for appetizers. Their entrees were the Day's Catch and Fish Filet Tikin Xic. They must have been truly delicious because they did not stop raving about their meal after we ate there. We wanted to eat there again but decided not to because there were only two non-seafood entrees. I'd give it 5 stars if there was more variety! Nevertheless, you definitely have to eat at Habanero's at least once during your stay at Hyatt Ziva, it will be an unforgettable experience, trust me. read more

This is located right on the beach at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun and was one of my favorite lunch spots on our recent trip. The ambiance is very beachy and everything is open air. The bar area has swings that look out onto the beautiful blue Ocean. They were always quick to serve us no matter how many of us came at a time and the menu was top notch with a wide variety of margaritas, tacos, ceviche, and even a whole crispy fish! They start everyone with chips and guac which I really enjoyed. It's hard to find decent Mexican fare at a resort but I really think that this was pretty legit. A decent spot right beside the beach that gets 2 stars due to service. The location: Located by the main beach, it's past the dolphins and it's like a little hut. You can sit outside the hut on tables where you are able to bask in the sunshine and the sand. The food: In terms of the food here, it's pretty good and gracious in it's portion sizes. Everything I ate was good but it did lack a bit of flavor. The service: I am someone with some food restrictions. Most often they aren't difficult to deal with. However, the server I got was rude and could not care less about my restrictions. He basically said too back we don't make accommodations to the menu items. He would not serve grilled shrimp or fish demanding it all had to be battered. He would not remove citrus from any dish. I was getting so annoyed and was going to leave but my boyfriend got the server to agree to make me beef tacos. The whole time the server would pass by he would make a remark about me and my food being special. Habaneros is awesome! This was the first restaurant that my friends and I decided to eat at when we arrived at the Hyatt Ziva! Located directly on the beach this place will give you a great view of the ocean while enjoying your food and drinks! Being that this is an all-inclusive resort I think that sometimes people just automatically assume that the food options will be just okay and nothing spectacular. This place didn't disappoint at all and I really enjoyed that everything I ordered when dining here was fresh! The staff who works here is awesome and very friendly! I love that they went above and beyond to make sure my friends and I were taken care of while being there. If you don't want a table seat and just prefer to grab something quick, going to the bar is your best option because the service is quick! Be sure to check out the cool swings they have for you to sit/swing on while drinking. Directly from the bar they also have some hammocks that are positioned out a little past the shore for you to relax in with your food. read more

This is our favorite place ever. This hotel and this restaurant are beyond exceptional. This is our second time back and we eat here every day. Their traditional ceviche, octopus and chicken and al pastor tacos are the best. Our favorite cocktail is called "boil the water" and it's not too sweet or Citruses which is a nice change from margaritas. My fiancée has celiac disease and they have a million gluten free options and even for the items that are gluten free, the servers go and check to make sure they are ok to eat. Ate here twice during our trip to Hyatt ziva 8/25-8/31. Service is good, food is delicious. My favorite is the ceviche and Baja shrimp tacos, wife loved her tacos as well. You can see large iguanas lounging behind the restaurant which is pretty cool, but my only qualm is the lack of cool air during the day and mosquitoes. We sat at the same table both trips here but mosquitoes weren't an issue our first day, we left rather abruptly our second trip due to mosquitoes attacking us and possibly our son. read more

My first time in Mexico and we stayed at the Hyatt Ziva resort! We loved this place so much that we ate here 2-3 times during our 4 day stay at the resort. This was located right off the private beach and the view was just beautiful. Everything felt so peaceful and relaxed as well. Love, love, loved all the different ceviches and tacos.
