Had started going to back Habit Burger La Costa again, only because so close to my house, until tonight. Ordered from Kiosk, one double char plain and one single char with fries. When I got home, the bun on the single char was burnt to a crisp. Completely black and crunchy, hard as a hockey puck. Why would you put a burnt bun on someone's dinner? Did you know it was a takeout order and too lazy or too stupid to toast another bun without burning the chit out of it? I noticed the ditzy cashier girl was making the burgers tonight, perhaps she thinks it's char burgers and char buns? What a joke, I called to get refund and they said I need to goto their website and fill out complaint form so they can maybe process a refund in 10 days. No thanks, I'm going to Shake Shack or McDonalds or anywhere that they know not to give paying customers burnt disgusting buns. We were going to use Habit catering with the Habit truck for my son's upcoming birthday...no thank you keep you dirty burnt buns. We'll get pizza!! Man, I cant believe this place gets bad reviews. I laughed when I read one that said they've been coming here for 6 years, 5 times a week with their grandchild, but in their defense, now I see why. Disclaimer: 3:30pm on a Sunday. I got a double with cheese on Ciabatta for $8.50. Thats barely above price of IN and OUT and it was more filling but dang, CIABATTA, yes please! Price and amazing bread choices The whole menu seemed very reasonable for all the items. The burger was perfect and the Ranch is really good. Other than the restaurant being clean, what else can I say? I'll never wait in line for IN and OUT again, not in this area or before 10pm anyhow. I guess the three stars is for the new kiosk system, I always loved habit for its customer service and that you could order a burgers or sandwiches the way you wanted them and I've even had a staff member suggest something that I have never even thought of. The kiosk takes that away today I had a crispy chicken sandwich and I didn't want all the stuff on it, it was so confusing for the staff that I only ate about half the sandwich. The onion rings which again I asked for just a little crispy came out almost burnt as you could see in the picture. The good news is the shake was good. Restaurant is filthy on a Sunday at 2:30. The outside trash cans were overflowing, bathrooms needed to be cleaned and paper towels refilled, kitchen had trash on the floor, and there was a HUGE puddle in front of the ketchup and ice tea area. A child slipped and fell then afterward, an employee told another employee the puddle needed to be mopped up. 15 mins pass and it still didn't get taken care of. My daughter walked to the lemonade to refill her cup then slipped and went down on her knees. Myself and another customer spoke to the employee that was now mopping the floor saying this is a liability. Someone could seriously get hurt. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was not a manger here today. They were short staffed so I asked for an office number and I was given an email. I was given the email posted in the picture and keep getting returned mail as undeliverable. We won't be returning. This location is poorly managed. read more

This is so disappointing when you place an order and you watch it move out 15 minutes 20 minutes half an hour an hour an hour when the store is actually five minutes from you. Super frustrating in the response was that we had another order in front of yours. I have an entire family of six actually eight tonight waiting for our dinner that we thought was going to be here at 6:30 and now I was gonna arrive an hour late. From what I have seen, this place needs better management. I ordered from Postmates, and when I walked in to pick up my burger, it looked like there had been some sort of big spill in the back by the grills. There was a trashbag full of paper towels and the water was all the way up to the register. The workers were mopping everything up, but I felt really uncomfortable eating my burger after, mostly due to the association. Stored in on a Tuesday night. There were a few people in line, but it moved very quickly. Outside seating was basically closed because it was cold outside and they didn't have any heaters set up. No biggie. We easily got a table inside. The order was fairly fast and it was correct. The seasonal Pretzel burger was kind of small (even my daughter commented on it). I think her Kids menu burger might have been bigger than mine. That being said, the seasonal burger was very good and was more than adequate. The onion rings we're fresh and crisply. Perfect. My daughter liked her cheeseburger and ate the whole thing. Overall a great place with great food. Everyone was polite. Oh yeah, they have a pepper bar. I LOVE this. Really wanted to like this place. But it was a huge disappointment. Came here for a quick grub and ordered their double cheeseburger. The whole place was not very clean and the floor was rather greasy. Kind of a bad sign. The staff at the counter was nice and friendly and took my order in a fast and efficient manner. I didn't have to wait too long to get my food, however the burger was really bad. The bun was crumbly, the meat patties: one was overcooked and one was grossly undercooked, and it was really chewy and it had some cartilage bones in it. eating it was like chewing on paper. The lettuce was also starting to show that rust color so the ingredients were absolutely not fresh. The whole burger tasted bad. Two hours after I ate I had major stomachache. My grandson & I eat here 5 times a week (Carlsbad) and have for the past 6 years. I love their salads, chicken sandwiches (made with thick & delicious juicy chicken), sweet potato fries, and their soft serve ice cream & shakes are the best! Ugh. Tried to order online and you can't order certain things the way you once could, so my husband drove there and placed our order. After sitting there, waiting, returning home, we were missing a burger. Now, the whole dinner is cold, we can't eat as a family and he goes back to retrieve the missing burger. I've been in quarantine for too long, was craving a habit burger and onion rings. Downloaded the habit app, placed my order and paid. It told me the exact time it would be ready or you can schedule a time... super easy. I opted for curbside pick up (they have designated spots) pulled up and out came a masked/gloved employee (to my passenger side window). My order was bagged up on a tray which she put through the window for me to take, so there was Zero contact. I think that if the burger is made right (and I'm in the mood for one), I can kill a pretty large burger in one sitting. I really like their food, especially their garden burger, but, unfortunately, the past two times I ordered pick-up from the Ap there were items missing from my order. I tried to get a refund, but when you call the restaurant, you are told to use their customer service website. When I used their website to request a refund the first time, I did not get any response. This time, I was reluctant to use the website again, so I tried calling again to customer service. After waiting on hold for awhile (for as long as it took me to eat my burger), I was told that there was nothing that they could do and directed me back to the website. The food is good, but such a hassle, I wish they could get the order right or at least give me my money back.
