Absolutely love this location! This is probably my new favorite Board&Brew location! Came around 2:30pm and the moral and energy was great. People at the bar having drinks and at the tables having a sandwiches and beer. The energy of the staff was matching the vibe of the people so kudos to them! I went woh my favorite sandwich from here which is Toms Choice, extra sauce on the side. Again, I was not disappointed! I also enjoyed a Board&Brew IPA hit the spot for sure! I went to the grand opening last weekend on Friday. There was only 2 people in line in front of me and it moved quickly. I odered the turkado and the Italian sub and wandered around the restaurant whilst I waited. I love the outdoor area with the bar, such a nice outdoor space. The skateboard decor around the booths is a cool touch. My sandwiches were done pretty quickly and I took them to a friends. We both really enjoyed them. Board and Brew is the premier sandwich shop in San Diego. When I was going to college my best friend worked at the del mar location and she introduced me to the Turkey Deluxe sandwich. I tried their signature Turkado but liked deluxe better because of the sesame seeds and sweet sauce. I have not eaten turkey since college but I wanted to explore the menu today. I attended the grand opening in Encinitas and it was packed. There were people floating around making sure that food was getting out correctly and checking in on customers. The menu is somewhat limited, with only one vegetarian sandwich and for pescatarians there is one option with fish. On top of that they do not offer rye, pumpernickel, Squaw or marbled rye bread. It is either sourdough, wheat or a roll. I took a turkado and a tuna sandwich to go. The sandwiches were gigantic and fresh. The tuna has a sweet pickle in it which I did not care for but I do not love pickles. I know that the Board and Brew will do well in Encinitas! read more

Grand opening! The place is small but there is an outdoor seating area if there are no tables available in door. This place is in a plaza with other restaurants, grocery stores and department stores. I've had better sandwiches BUT the service here was super helpful and friendly. For that, I'd return. I did get a chance to try their beef dip sandwich and I thought it was very well done. We heard there was a new Board and Brew in town and just had to go and check it out. Decided to go on Sunday during their big grand opening and when we arrived I began to question our decision. It was super busy and there was a really long line but we stuck it out. And I am glad we did because the line moved fairly quickly and surprisingly enough with as many people as there were our order was ready in about 20 minutes. By the time we walked over to the local bakery , through Trader Joe's and back they were literally calling our name. The staff was great and handled the crowd like pros. The owner came out and was chatting with us all and even passed out drink coozies and chips. We ordered the chicken club and spicy chicken sandwiches and as usual neither were a disappointment. The club was tasty with crispy bacon and fresh tomatoes and the spicy chicken was loaded with plenty of peppers, onions and melty cheesy gooeyness. The bar was hopping and the décor as awesome as we expect (always love the Powell and Peralta boards lined around the seats). Tucked in the corner of the strip mall this Board and Brew location has plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Whether eating in or taking to go I believe you can never go wrong with grabbing a sandwich or salad (and don't forget their homemade potato salad and special sauce too). read more

We usually love this place. We get food from here a lot. Today was as disappointing as you can get. First of all, our order was stolen right as we got there to pick our order up, but anyone can go in and take any order they want. Also the girl that kept apologizing about our order being stolen, she admitted that she made our food and put it out on the shelf herself, but when we were sitting there waiting for our new order, she was sitting at the next to us as sick as a dog, coughing her brains out and wiping her nose, wiping it on her leg and kept coughing without covering her mouth and kept snotting while sitting with what looked looked to be the owner or manager. So gross!!!!! Come on call in sick! That was absolutely disturbing and disgusting!!!! Then we bring our new order home, and find they left out the two ranch dressing that we paid for. I ordered a gluten free tortilla wrap and it was barely wrapped, and I couldn't even eat over half of my sandwich cause they chose to put the most fatty parts of the meats in my wrap and I kept having to spit out every bit so I didn't even get to eat my food. Service was great!! The parking lot does get busy during the day when the rush hits. They do have alternate parking, which is nice. Came in on a busy day, high schoolers from the local area were in to have a delicious lunch. I don't blame them. Tried the San Diegan toasted for the first time and it was so good! Tonight a drunk man through a fit when the workers tried to change the channel to a padres game, which forced 80% of the customers to go outside and watch the game so they could stay inside and very loudly watch the basketball game. I come here at least once a week and there is a new younger woman who seems as though she has taken on a roll of manager? She is bossing the workers around very loudly for all the customers to hear & is not kind to customers. Seems very unhappy. She had friends that were sitting at the counter she was talking to, but was rude to the other customers. I've eaten at this location many times great place with friendly staff and delicious sandwiches. The only thing I didn't like was the last time I ate here, I selected avocado to be added to my sandwich and the avocado was over ripe, brown and tasted gross. I wouldn't mind being told there's no avocado, then being served that. It ruined the sandwich, because it's mashed up and spread onto the bread, so I couldn't easily take it off. read more

Service was amazing- super friendly and informative! Ambiance was nice, it has that fresh new feel. I used to LOVE the Baja wrap - I don't know if my taste buds altered, or the recipe is different, but it's just not my jam anymore (not just at this location). I wanted to knock off a star because the wrap wasn't wrapped properly and it fell apart as I was eating it- but I think it was just a fluke.
