Food is great, teenybopper music is annoying, service is polite and fast. HOWEVER: A-1 is no longer a condiment. Discontinued per assistant manager. I could use hotsauce, or buy BBQ sauce. People!! Long time phone order customer for a tray of tempura green beans, usually at the Almaden Expressway, San Jose store. BTW, the management team there is crazy good. This time, though, I ordered from the Gilroy location by phone. For the umpteenth time, the computer system had not retained updated exp. date/security code on cc I've had on file for a couple of years. So transaction failed. Gave the agent, again, the new info. Pause. Agent says okay. Order is submitted and will be ready 15 minutes. Order is for an event, and I am expected to be there at a certain time or hold up the rest of the group. I didn't get any confirmation text like usual. Get to Gilroy store. Mgr tells me cc failed, so there's no order in place, and giving the impression I have poor credit. (I don't) Embarrassing and not an impression that goes away easily when you get that "sorry, your credit card failed" look. Used same card in store when I re-ordered. Worked fine. I was beyond aggravated at the phone agent telling me order was submitted when it wasn't, (Yes, I referred to him as a dumbass), cc failure unnecessarily, and now being late because of both. 5 Stars - Lydia is AMAZING! I had such a great experience at The Habit thanks to Lydia! She was super friendly, patient, and made sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. Her energy honestly made my whole visit better. You can tell she cares about her customers and takes pride in her job. The food came out fresh and fast, and Lydia checked on me to make sure everything was good. Customer service like that is rare these days, so she definitely deserves recognition! I just had a Caesar salad w Ahi. Absolutely hit the spot! The salad was chilled, crunchy and FRESH. The ahi was just the right add-on for this tasty Caesar. The dressing is chef's kiss. I'll def be ordering this again. read more

Honestly, A bit of a fiasco. Brought in a team of 6-7-8 year-old soccer players after a important game that they won. Spirits were high! Until ... dum dum dum ... I tried to keep it simple by asking everyone to just order burgers and fries. I used to work in fast food so I know how challenging large orders (over $250 for all the orders) can be. Almost everyone's orders were incorrect. The burgers ordered without cheese had cheese (we have some with allergies, so that was fun). Across the board the fries were cold and had an insane amount of salt. The toppings were all a mess. Those who asked for no onions got tons of onions. One that asked for no tomato had three slices of tomato! I hate to say it but I think mine was the only order that was correct. But that didn't matter too much since, by the time I was done trying to get everyone else's order corrected, it was ice cold. It was a nice idea, I thought, to celebrate with the team at Habit. Restaurant was very clean, staff was friendly. Food was very good, except for the new tempura avocado (this was the main reason for dining there today). Flavor and texture was terrible. We've had deep fried avocado previously at other restaurants, and thoroughly loved it, but what we had at the Habit was very off putting. Love this place! It has a little bit of everything for everyone. The chicken nuggets are actually really good. It's not so bready like other places. You get a lot of meat in there. Pops and I walked into this Habit Burger today shortly before noon. I Immediately noticed how clean and organized it was on the inside. They also have great photos purposely hung throughout the interior with Great music piping to the stereo system. We were Greeted immediately upon walking in by a smiling face. Pops and I Both zeroed in on the Santa Barbara Char burger which comes With lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, cheese, two patties, and avocado on grilled sourdough + we added Bacon cuz dats how we roll. We also ordered 2 onion rings and two medium drinks. We were handed a buzzer "which buzzed about 5 minutes later" and sat down. They have cushion bench seats throughout with some pull up chairs. They have about 5 different fountain drinks as well as iced tea and lemonade. The have Coca-Cola instead of Pepsi (sorry to all you Pepsi "losers", I mean lovers out there) lol! The burger was actually quite big and tasty and the onion rings are not ground up but whole also quite good and they offered us ranch dressing on the side as well. Overall they are a solid 4 stars in my book and yes we will be back, maybe next time I'll get a milkshake ;D read more

This is our family's favorite burger spot while in the area. Service is fast, facilities are clean, location is ideal (near several major shopping areas), and the product is great. Bonus #1: it's not overly crowded, even during peak lunch hours (for example, this weekend we visited at 12:50 p.m. on a Saturday and there was no wait). Bonus #2: The self-service kiosk actually works great. Not sure why more people don't use it but oh well - even faster times for the fam. Is it a luxurious fine-dining experience? Our first time to the Habit Burger Grill and we were pretty impressed. My son said The tri tip sandwich wasn't that good, the meat had no flavor. But... Peach ginger nector was excellent! They make their juices daily. They also had strawberry lemonade, will have to try this on another day. Double char was so good, super cheesey and really juicey. You'll need lots of napkins. Santa Barbara burgers were excellent. I could only eat half of one, they're big! Excellent fries and sweet potatoe fries. My daughter said, Restaurant quality food at a fast food joint. This place was so much busier than Pieology, a Chipotle, and Mimi's Cafe but I wanted to get my son a burger so we waited on 'this long appearing line. Service was prompt and efficient. I just don't get the tip jar for a place that you go up to the window, order burgers , fries, and salad and then your number is called WITH A TIP JAR????? What are you tipping them for? Straightforward menu. They've got good burgers and great fries. I've gotten a couple different things over my visits: tri tip steak sandwich and the original char burger. Both good, the tri tip was surprisingly tender and the char burger lives up to its name with a nice crisp char. I love the fries here, they always taste freshly fried. Enjoyed the food here. It reminded me of a mix between 5 guys and in n out. I came here once for a school charity event. Im not one to give a bad review but i got some sass for getting my order wrong but in the end they made it right. The charity was cool because we got 20% of our order to go to it so i bought for my family. There were a few hiccups on taste but overall it was ok. Maybe i didnt order the right burger but i gotta say it was not a contender at all. Over priced for the same taste as a few other local fastfood joints that im happier with honestly.
