I usually don't write bad reviews but the last time I went here it was impressively bad. The burger was half burnt somehow, they forgot my cheese, and they had new pickles which is extremely disappointing because it was a highlight of their burgers. The new ones are the same as the ones on a McDonald's burger. The fries were also so soggy that I threw them in my air frier when I got home. The fact this place has almost 4 stars is criminal. There are so many better burger places in Layton. I've been going to Habit on and off for years and it has gone down in quality for pretty much every part of their food. Their patties taste like any generic fast food burger patty now. They give you about half as many fries as they used to and they are pretty much always soggy. Fantastic customer service! My husband ordered the Santa Barbara burger (7.5/10). It was flavorful but the toast didn't hold the ingredients together very well. Still, a pretty tasty burger! I got the vegetarian burger with cheese, served on lettuce with added avocado and it was delicious. Id give it a solid 10/10. My face was covered in sauce and my heart was full. We placed our order through Grubhub but ran into the shop early to see if they could rush it. Luckily, it wasn't too busy, and they got our food out in record time. Haven't visited Habit Burger in a while. It was clean, inviting and even some sunflower decorations to brighten the place. We tried 2 of the new salads and liked them very much! Nephew had a cookies and cream shake and it's creamy and refreshing. The service was shockingly great!! So kind when we walked in, helped us add a seat, and later stopped by to see how our meal was and asked if we needed anything! What fast food place does that? Okay. We all know how Utah is about burgers. There's one on every corner just slightly different from the one next door. We love burgers so we usually try all the places. We tried habit for lunch on a Sunday since it was open. The first time we went, I just got a regular cheeseburger nothing fancy with the fries, onion rings, ranch/honey mustard and a Fresca lemonade type drink. The 2nd time we went, I opted for the Santa Barbara cheeseburger after watching my husband eat it the first time. First off, everything was delicious here. For a fast food burger chain, we really enjoyed it. Food was def higher quality than other places and the portion size was huge. The grilled sourdough bread was so good and made me want to get every burger from now on with that kind of bread. The avocado was a great touch and adding bacon wasn't a bad idea as well. The burgers were cooked perfectly too. They were a little messy but the taste made up for the mess for sure. Their ranch and honey mustard sauces are also really good and they give you a HUGE container of them. I def brought home the leftover for future dishes since the condiments were so good. Their onion rings though were crispy and delicious. You know a good onion rings is one you can bite right through without pulling a whole onion out and these were those. My only complaint about this place is that it is TOO SMALL! It is always busy and hard to find a place to sit unless you go really late. Their burgers are always great, the Santa Barbara Char is my favorite. I love the tempura green beans, they are amazing. I like to put a bunch of Cholula in the ranch they give you for dipping to take it up a notch. My very favorite thing to get there is the Grilled Chicken Salad. Good food as always, but the cashier with the face piercing needs some serious training on how to greet customers. Something about me and my girlfriend must have upset him because the people before and after us were greeted/ treated nicely. The Habit burger is the definition of perfectly Average. People really rave about The Habit, and I love me some hamburgers, so I was pretty pumped to come here. A friend recommended I get the Santa Barbara Char, it comes with a Sourdough bun and avocado for $12. Food came pretty quickly, and the burger was a good size. However the good in general lacked any really flavor or kick. Fries were crispy but were plain, lucky the fry sauce saved the day. The only difference between The Habit and McDonalds is The Habit is double the price. I do have to say the patty was much larger that McDonald's. It was nice and clean, and it was full of customers. We ordered our food, there were 6 of us and it was a big order, we thought it was going to take a while to get the food but that wasn't the case as we got our food in a very timely manner. The food was good as it always is, the only thing I didn't care for too much were the garlic fries which had too much garlic seasoning but overall the food was delicious, the customer service was good.
