Did a work volunteer event here and it was great! They actually have some great items and the Caraway pans caught my eye. They have home goods, furniture, outdoor construction items, appliances etc. Great people that run this store and volunteers were amazing and welcoming. Great place to volunteer and shop!!! Anyone who owns a home should have Habitat for Humanity ReStore on their Rolodex. It's better to help someone in the community who may be in need of what you may be about to discard (if it's in working order) rather than just throwing it away or waiting for trash collectors to pick it up off the curb and worse, sitting in your yard or garage being useless. You just might get a tax deduction out of it to boot! ReStore has been building homes, improved homes, and assisted Arizonans in need since 1985, and they need our help. When you go thrift store shopping it's always hit or miss whether you find something good or anything you actually need. While we didn't find anything here to purchase I did like what they offered when we browsed. They offer a little bit of everything home improvement related. On this particular outing we saw a brand new set of really nice looking acacia butcher block wood countertops, various portable AC units, and some cool looking pet items. Other items you'll typically find are various fixtures, sinks, tiles, rugs, furniture, and paint (They had Glidden brand when we were here). The building is a very large warehouse and it seemed fairly well ventilated and cool enough to be comfortable while shopping. If you're in the area and are looking for any good deals on remodeling projects this might be a good place to check out. read more

Do not donate to Habitat for Humanity. It was beyond difficult to schedule a pick up for charitable items. We attempted to donate to Habitat for Humanity. Rather than get any assistance, you have to leave a message and a phone number. Which we did. Then, we gave an itemized list of what we were donating. It had to be itemized. They would not give a time frame or a window of time for pick up. On the day of pick-up, they called and indicated that they would be arriving between 12 and 2 and only had some of the items listed for pick up and they would not pick up the rest of the items. When I explained we had gone over it and called and left multiple messages, their response was essentially too bad. Then, when the driver's got here, they refused one of my donations, which was too used and then would not help me lift two bar stools from my backyard because they are not permitted to assist customers in the homes. I will never donate to these people ever again. I am beyond disgusted with their service. This is a DONATION and they acted like they were doing me the favor and were supremely unprofessional. I cannot believe two grown men would not help a middle aged woman lift a bar stool. It's unbelievable. read more

Some of these donators that are commenting on the post of Habitat for Humanity, now you have to realize these facilitators have people calling so much to drop off and want Pick-up to give donations. These people have so many donations and possibly of the same items and most possibly out-of-modern date. They need people that need these donations to come and pick them up or to, get calls that are getting into their new homes or apartments and need furnishing. These people already have donations. They have many donations. They don't need more donations. They need people to to take these things off of their hands to furnish places for new "coming into stability in society" individuals. Thank you.. You wanna really donate go downtown to tent city and take them people to get a small group some haircuts and Groupon special day spa hands, nails and feet treatments. Don't think just because you got some outdated stuff that you don't want no more however still good and intact that you can just call somebody to come pick stuff up for free to get out your house so that way you can feel good about yourself cleaning your house out for the day, giving it away to a place that don't even need your outdated shoes, clothes and luggage bags that don't roll! read more

OMG!! Not sure WHY it's taken so long for me to write I review!! I shop at Habitat on COMMERCE here in Prescott almost weekly and can't say enough abt the staff and the locale! They have the BEST prices and some of the best merchandise in the area (and I go to tons of resale shops in the area). And all you have to do is go online and check prices of other Habitat(s) in AZ to find that the one here in Prescott has the BEST prices of all! I have been trying to coordinate a pick up with this place for 3 weeks. I submitted pics they were approved and here we are. No one EVER answers the phone in the donation department and the response is always a day later. Email is the same way a simple phone conversation of 3 min has streched into 3 weeks with these idiots. I have donated a lot of pavers and furniture thru the years to charity's along with this one but NEVER again. I am donating a gently used 3000 couch and I have never been so aggravated GIVING something away!!!This is a poorly run organization and not worth the hassle. read more

A great place to find home improvement items / furnishings at prices that are way easy on the pocketbook. The used items are in good condition and of higher quality than you would normally find in a place such as Goodwill, and there are many new items as well (see the pics). Screw the Depot, this place rocks for cheap DIY! You'll never know what you'll find at this hardware thrift store. They mostly carry used home improvement stuff like doors, windows, sinks, furniture, door hardware, oops paint, etc...but from time to time you can find a great selection of brand-new stuff that contractors donate. I scored a brand-new-in-the-box Moen kitchen faucet for $37! I was super excited over that bargain. I've also gotten a bunch of little things here like a soffet vent for the roof, door knobs, paint brushes, windows, etc...and you can't go wrong for the price. Their prices are a fraction of the cost of home improvements chains and you're helping recycle and giving money to a good cause. read more

Habitat Restore, at least here in south Phoenix, is WAY overpriced. Saw a lot of things that I KNOW I can get for less at Home Depot or Lowes. They used to be THE go to place for good, bargain priced home improvement. Hardly anyone in the store... wonder why??? read more

I'm a ReStore fan. The place has all kinds of good condition item from furniture to lighting to building materials. We landed a bed frame and headboard at 60% off that was a great deal. I discovered this by accident and have to say it was bittersweet. Having just finished packing & unpacking, cross country I was overwhelmed with stuff and determined (still am) to pare DOWN. Regardless, the home-design freak/scavenger in me went mentally crazy looking at all the stuff I wanted desperately to get ... and would have if I had a house here. I limited myself to a pair of lampshades in a pattern (Waverly Cottage Rose I think) that I've been collecting guest room items in forever. I waited more than a year to write this review. I went here over a year ago. My main interest is electronics, I noticed that they had a vintage Color television for $688. It is labeled as a 1950's TV. This is incorrect, it is a 1963 Zenith 6050 or 6060 Color television set. Fully restored it is worth about $300. In its present condition it is worth about $100. This particular TV (at this location) has been discussed on several old radio and TV forums. Several people are interested in it, but not for anything more than $200. When I got there today, it was still there. Per another person who I know that is interested in old TV's it has been there now 6+ years. They have one other item, a 70's magnavox console stereo end/coffee table (also been here more than a year). They claim one like it sold or was listed on ebay for $435. They want $288. There is no record on ebay of a console like this selling on ebay at all. Pro tip, this item is worth less than $50. I have seen them at goodwills marked at $50 and they did not sell until they went to half that. so here is the skinny on old console TV's and Console stereo's. They are not very collectable because they take up a large amount of space. They all need parts replaced in them because they can be over 50 years old by now. On old consoles, most people only want the electronics out of them. the cabinets are not worth much because of their size. Even the electronics are not worth very much unless they are certain models and brands. Just because something is old/"rare" does not mean it is valuable. Even if the TV was priced at $50 I would not buy it because I have no room and why would I want an old CRT TV when I can get a much better picture on a modern TV? Thus endeth the lesson. Also their other items are priced so close to new that for most of the things they have you are better off buying new. read more

I've only been to the downtown Phoenix location. As with any rehab store...they had their share of crap. Some people seem to think, their broken down, unrepairable stuff is somebody's dream come true. But then you have people that donate things that are cool and worthy of re-purposing. And that alone is worth checking out. I loved the bulk items...nails, screws, bolts. They were very-very cheap. As was Flashing, and plumbing supplies. Some of their ventilation hoods, and stove tops were super cool.And they had some nice patio/sliding doors and a few super cool exterior doors. Lighting was a disappointment....but thats just the way it goes. I don't dock them for that at all. The One and Only thing that I saw there, that made me cringe a little is - Paint. Only because Paint typically has an expiration date, whether you know it or not. I personally would only buy paint in a high volume store, that I know they are moving it, in and out.But if you don't know good paint from bad....then go for it. But good paint doesn't last forever. I was surprised to find that had a TON of brand new irrigation supplies. As a gardener, I am always fiddling with the irrigation, and am in constant need of emitters, hose, and connectors to support my filthy habit. I was disappointed and slightly shocked by what I found. I understand that everything is donated and/or taken out of renovated homes but it was mostly junk that was outdated and everything was dirty. My shock came from noticing the prices for everything. I couldn't believe how HIGH everything cost. I found cheaper items that were new at Home Depot. I don't think I will return to buy anything from them. read more

It's sad to see how many people are complaining about the prices and products. The store provides jobs, helps the environment by recycling products that could end up in the dump, but more importantly the money goes towards building affordable houses for those affected by poverty.
