Fun & adorable vintage and thrift shop in the Melrose district of downtown Phoenix. The entrance is located inside Valentine Restaurant. We had such a fun time trying out the restaurant and then going directly into the shop to do some window shopping before heading home. They have everything from jewelry and clothing to records and cassettes, dishware, furniture, decor, and so much more. Items are cleaned up, and the shop is nicely organized. My daughter purchased something and the owner was very pleasant and friendly to deal with. Check out is located at the desk in the center of the store. Prices seemed fairly reasonable. Some items were a little less and some more than a normal vintage or thrift shop. read more

I just want to update my review. The store sells great items and staff is friendly. It's fun shopping here. But I've noticed, on multiple occasions over time, they are late to open. A few times, some other customers standing outside with me agreed it's too hot to stand and wait and we all left and drove away. If you are the owner, please check in to see why this store is always opening late (says 11am but sometimes is 11:15 or so). If you plan on coming here to shop, just know that if you get here right at 11 when they open, doors might be shut, lights off and no sign of life for a little. It's becoming a trend here. And in the summer, most customers want to get their shopping done early in the day before it's hot. read more

Mid Century Modern galore! A wonderful woman named Laura introduced herself and mentioned they also have items posted on chairish.com. No pressure sales just lots of people who seem to enjoy their job - how nice! Walnut, Rosewood & Teak furniture EVERYWHERE! No replicas but rather: genuine authentic mcm pieces. Many items refinished, restored and/or reupholstered. Vintage Zenith Radio with Bluetooth, Brutalist Tall Dresser, Complete Dining Sets, It's all here ready to flex your home! The smallest details such as books, art, drink ware and board games in their original condition are also available. I LOVED all of them! See photos! I have been to Valentine about 3 times and every time I go to the restaurant I stop by this store. This is exactly the type of stores I enjoy window shopping at. All the pieces are unique and some are more lived than others but I can see the potential and the appeal. I like more modern in my mid century but I still think this is a nice place to look around. I lack the knowledge to know what is overpriced vs what is a steal but maybe I walk out with a purchase next time. This is a great spot to bring anyone visiting town. Mid century modern or 2021 modern? I felt like I was turning back the clock at Modern Manor. The furniture was not exactly my cup of tea but it's easy to appreciate the uniqueness and authentic ness of the items in the store. I can easily see how an addition of an item here can be a statement piece in a home. If Austin Powers purchased a home in the valley and was furniture shopping I'd recommend he'd come to Modern manor. The new coffee shop, valentine, in front of the store is icing on the cake. Even if you are not currently in the market for that perfect addition to your living, dining or bedroom, this place inspires your next purchase. Hidden gem in the Melrose District area. It's kind of hard to find, so look for their sign stand on 7th Avenue. It's a great place to find modern and mid-century furniture. They seem to carry furnishings made, and inspired by Herman Miller, Eames and Harry Bertoia. I suspect that they probably do a lot of online business like Ebay and such. read more

If you want to feel like you stepped into a living room on the set of Mad Men, this is the place to go. It is a finely curated collection of furniture that has either been beautifully refurbished or kept in excellent mint condition. They just added a whole new wing of the store, which has an impressive mural by a local artist. My husband and I browsed in here for about 30 minutes. There wasn't much in the way of customer service...by that I mean zero. But I suppose that's alright, we were mostly there to browse. The pieces are beautiful but they are definitely out of our price range. A girl can dream, right? read more

I purchased a mid-century modern dining table from this pretty cute looking store. This is a table with a leaf, accommodating up to 6 people comfortably. Naturally if I was spending $2,000 on a piece of furniture, you better believe I checked it out...or so I thought. After getting the table home, checking it out with and without the leaf in it, we discovered that it was broken! When I tried to open the table to expand the leaf, the leaf slides with the table due to a broken slide rail. We did not notice this in the store because the owner expanded the leaf for us. To see this, you have to turn the table upside down. If you are purchasing products here PLEASE make sure you look it over very carefully! This was for a second home of mine. The owner helped us load it into our truck. It went directly from Modern Manor to our home. Now it will cost me more $ because I have to take it to a furniture repair place. This is a nice store that sells all the mid-century items and they are pretty expensive. I'm pretty sure the owner knew this table was not 100% in working order when he put it on the floor to sell. I was just the lucky sucker for him that came and bought it that day. read more

Whenever we are looking for a piece of furniture or a cool decor accent modern manor is our first stop. They are basically a one stop shop for all mid-century modern pieces. They are off the beaten path a bit in an warehouse just west of 7th Avenue. The staff is always very helpful and never makes pressures you to buy. We picked up an amazing coffee table there for only $60 since it was marked $75 but a 20% off weekend. They have these specials often, just be sure to "like" them on facebook so you can be in the know. The coffee table is an old chicken crate that was put on castors. This is as cool as it gets for a vintage furniture store. Some really amazing mid century pieces filled up their decently sized showroom. All of their furniture and decor is hand picked and you can tell the staff is passionate about what they do. I'm absolutely in love with the furniture here, after shopping around I know I'll be back soon to purchase a modern mid century credenza for our house. They're actually priced very competitively when I was comparing to other furniture stores around town (Copenhagen, West Elm, Restoration Hardware) and their pieces are vintage, not mass produced with crappier materials. If I could afford it, I'd decorate my entire place with the furniture and decor from their store. Can't wait to come back and see what new treasurers they have available! read more

This is less of a showroom and more of a museum to mid-century modern furniture. Each piece in this collection is impeccable, I'm fairly certain the owner is transporting this stuff via a time machine from Palm Springs in 1955. At any second I half expect Charles and Ray Eames to come walking around the corner after a nice dinner with Herman Miller. We visited Modern Manor soon after moving to Phoenix and I was amazed at the quality of the inventory and the quantity of designer pieces under one roof at Modern Manor. It rivals, if not tops, any of the stores where I've shopped in Los Angeles. Let's just clear up some things. If you are looking for mid century to modernized furniture this is the place to shop at. It was pricey so be ready to fork over some change for what appears to good finds. Although they seemed to be doing some remodeling it was really cramped and felt if you touched anything it would fall over. We went during the summer months and it was hot inside. Not to mention there was no customer service as no one was around, not even for a second. So, if I wanted to purchase something it would have been a no go. read more

This is the perfect spot to find mid 1940's to 1970's furniture. After a full day of antiquing with Cole, we parked around the corner and made our way towards the vintage Volks Wagon. Of course this was what lurred me in from the start seeing as I'm car shopping and would love nothing more than to buy one of these bad boys and make my way from coast to coast. Though this spot is hidden, its a true treasure as are all of the pieces you'll find inside. The coffee tables, chairs, and sofas were some of our favorites but I also recommend checking out the lighting as well. Our search for a wooden step ladder continues but my heart has found a home. The Store: There is an abundance of antique stores in the downtown phoenix area, especially in the Melrose district. Yelp reviews helped us weed out the junk and Modern Manor came up highly rated. The shop exceeded our expectations with so many one of a kind pieces that my wife and I just couldn't wait to be wealthy enough to fill a home with it all. Much of the furniture seemed Danish/mid-century/minimalist inspired with lots of leather, wood, and metals crafted beautifully. They also carry lots of recycled/re-purposed goodies like leather bears and the coolest wooden bow ties I have ever seen! Our Purchase experience: The first time we went there we fell in love with one of their large unique metal coffee tables covered in rusty blues and greens. We came back there a few days ago hoping to purchase the table without realizing that they are closed on that day. The owner luckily happened to be there anyways for just a few minutes and was nice enough to let us in for a few while he was there. He not only let us purchase this table during off hours but also made us an offer we could not refuse. Lastly, to top it all off they delivered the table to us across town for a very reasonable price. My wife and I simply love this shop and cannot wait to slowly amass more of their lovely furniture. read more

Best solution in Phoenix for Mid Century items. They have an ever changing but always diverse selection of finds. You have to act quick if you find something you want! The prices are decent given the condition, they typically have repaired/reupholstered any items on the floor and they're usually willing to work with you a bit on the price. Window shopping this place on a regular basis is a lot of fun! Customer service can sometimes be hit or miss but I've never had major issues. They even helped me by driving some pieces over to my house that wouldn't fit in my car! read more

I've never been a fan of shopping, but when I entered Modern Manor an hour seemed like ten minutes. Their selection of mid-century modern furniture was eclectic and intriguing with varied prices to suit any budget. Their selection was huge, but not overwhelming -- you could comfortably walk around the store without bumping into things. During my "ten minutes" I felt welcomed, as if I'd been a customer for years. Jeremy's insight and willingness to share information was just the beginning of a great experience. I eventually ended up purchasing a Danish credenza, but with a few requests. I essentially needed the credenza to transform into an entertainment center, which consisted of cutting out the back so my 80lb amplifier could breath. Without question, Jeremy cut out the back, applied a new coat of teak, and then delivered the credenza by the end of the day. Whoa! I don't know too many businesses that would do all that effort with a genuine smile on their face, but Modern Manor did it in spades. Possibly one of the best shopping experiences to date. I highly recommend this customer-oriented (Nordstrom-like), mid-century furniture store just north of downtown Phoenix. read more
