This place is a surprise. It is not the best looking store but hey, it's a thrift store, as long as I can get good stuff I'm ok with it. They mainly sell furnitures, home appliances and home goods. We tried to find a refrigerator here and they have like 15 of them, and we got one that is only 249. They got many windows, sofas and dining tables. Some sofas and cabinets are like new or barely used. They do have some pots and bowls but they look old. The people are also nice too. She explained to us about the social media discount thing, and she was friendly.

Okay it's 2019 and I am back hunting/picking stuff out to update my bathroom. I like this place again. They reorganized the store. There are distinct places for ceiling fans, lighting, and sinks. Furniture and 32 inch TVs are on sale for the big game. 75dols for a strong brand name 32 inch TVs good price. Okay. I came in for my bathroom. I purchased a vanity that came out of a hotel. Marble top with a mahogany wood base 100 dollars. I have to touch it up but I am VERY pleased. I do miss the clothes but I love the Wal-Mart bed sheet sets for $7.00. I enjoy the cool glass sets that kind folks donate for me to use to drink vino. Sweet!! I did pick up a few items our of the FREE basket. Yup junk is in the eye of the beholder. Actually it's trash but it's cool trash that I can reuse. No shame in my DYI game. Back to the real review. Their selection of Windows. Doors Paint and Appliances offers a lot of variety. A house Flippers dream come true. I did find a nice faucet set for my sink. Zing!!!!

Habitat for Humanity stores are different from most thrift stores in that they specialize in building materials and home improvement and repair items. This one in VB does carry clothing and other standard thrift store stuff, but there are also a lot of light fixtures, doors, windows, toilets, counter tops, you name it. Most of them are used, a few are new. I was in there the other day and I saw outside in the back, for example, boxes upon boxes of tile--all different shapes and sizes. A lot of the boxes had been opened and there was maybe a chipped tile or two in each box. If you were willing to sift through the piles and use a little creativity, you could probably tile a bathroom for next to nothing. And of course all the proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity, and you can't argue with that.

Felt very overpriced. No good deals and stock was low. Maybe I just went on a bad day.

Fast forward to February of 2021 I replaced the dishwasher again using Dr. Johnny's and received the same awesome service and price. If your trying to shop local for appliances this would be one of your only area choices. It is important for me and reason to try and give the little guy business. Dr. Johnny's carries all the major brands and often if they do not stick can order it. The sales woman was fantastic over the phone. I had already completed my research over the internet for a replacement. She needed to tweak the model number in order for me to receive next week. I got a price better than the big box with delivery and installation included. On the day of delivery they hit the window of time. Both men wore mask in my home and were professional. They brought all the necessary tools and an additional part purchased that morning from the hardware store. So a funny story was that I owed him $5 for the part and he made a deal to purchase a box of my daughters Girl Scout cookies and call it even. The install took around an hour and they left the area clean bringing a small vac. After 30 days use of our Kitchen Aid it's worked flawlessly. This type of service must be awarded with a full 5 stars. Dr. Johnny's services the entire Southside, maybe the peninsula but do ask. They have a showroom off General Booth in Virginia Beach. I cannot imagine a purchase elsewhere.

East Coast Appliance has been a total disappointment and I would avoid buying here at all costs!…read more The story begins with my husband and I needing a new refrigerator for our summer rental. The ice maker was no longer working in our old refrigerator. We went to East Coast Appliance in search for a new one. We repeatedly reiterated to the salesperson that we needed a refrigerator that would make lots of ice because of the number of the people in summer rental every week. The salesperson told us he had just what we needed. He insisted the refrigerator he showed us would make lots of ice. No worries he said. We even commented how large and how perfect the large compartment was at the bottom of the fridge that we thought was for ice. Our salesperson should have corrected us if it was not a compartment for "refrigerator made ice". We purchased the fridge and had it delivered the next day. We had to return home immediately following, the next day delivery, so we didn't get to check out how much ice it made until 3 weeks later when we returned. We were totally surprised when we found out it wasn't making any ice except what came of the outside door where the water output is! We were even more shocked when we called to find out how to get the ice machine working that there wasn't one offered with the model we purchased. After multiple calls trying to speak to our salesperson, we were told that the model we purchased does not even have freezer ice maker. According to our salesperson and his associate we were told that no kitchen-aide refrigerator has a freezer ice freezer maker-WHAT?!? We wanted to return this new unused "no ice-making" refrigerator and so we went to the store to confront and resolve this issue. We were told that it was too late to return the refrigerator and there was nothing they could do about it. They did not give us any way to resolve this issue other than buying a new refrigerator. Needless to say, we are not happy with this establishment and do not recommend their business.
