The atmosphere is amazing. Our server was excellent. Starting off we were served copious baskets of crop hot chips and yummy salsa. The menu is a good balance of Mexican staples and some interesting unique items. The food was not only priced well, but the quality and taste was excellent. I reviewed this once before, but I can't find the review to update it. I went there with my son yesterday and the food was horrible. I had a fajita taco salad and you couldn't even taste anything but sour cream very few vegetables in it. It was just disgusting. It was my fault for not saying no sour cream, but I didn't realize that Hito's were made out of sour cream as the sauce. It was disgusting. I swear I would never go back there last time this time. I swear I will never go there again and the stuff is in particularly friendly either I left him way too much of a tip for the service. read more

As somebody who travels for work, getting a decent and stress free meal at the end of the day is sometimes what determines how good my day went. This place has an awesome atmosphere, and very clean establishment. ALL staff seem very friendly. Juan served me at the bar with a new drink he is testing out called the "Chilango Mule" and it tasted amazing. Very personable service, excellent bartending, and phenomenal food. The serving people there are friendly, and the decorations look fantastic there. this place is horrible, my mother asked for a dish that supposedly has fish in it and other marine based foods but everything but the main fish came! and when i ordered a "Quesadilla" you'd think that they actually give you a quesadilla but no. they give you half a quesadilla and other vegetables that MIND YOU weren't even INSIDE the quesadilla but literally spilled outside of it like this was a "make it yourself" quesadilla. don't promote food you know you can't make. one star, absolutely never coming back here. Service was excellent, my dish was okay, I had the pacos agave bland tasting, my husband had the seafood enchiladas, he said was amazing. The boys had a dish that had chicken with bacon, they both said it was so good. The decor was awesome. read more

The service and food here is fabulous! Very attentive, and got us everything we needed in a timely manner. Our food came out quickly, hot, and was VERY good. We ordered the pollo agave or "chicken on the beach" which was very flavorful and exactly what I wanted, as well as the burrito croqueta which was one of the best burritos I've ever tired. The ambiance was very well done and all seemed to be brand new. Welcoming, with a lot of space for quests and things to look at. My margarita was great, I believe I got a peach on the rocks and was VERY happy with it. Will be coming back. read more

This restaurant is in the former Alexander steakhouse building. The style and decor inside are on point. Leather seats with their logo engraved and leather booths. However, they need to raise their food game up to the level of their decor. I ordered a chicken fajita taco salad and my friend ordered the chicken chimichanga. Her's came quickly but there was a 10 minute longer wait on my salad. The only thing I can say about the salad is that the lettuce was very fresh. They severely lacked with the seasoning. Truthfully, I have made better fajitas in my kitchen at home. the chimichanga came as a small one and also lacked seasoning. We both ordered a house lime Margarita on the rock. Literally like what you would buy at the grocery store. Pretty sure they use the premixed Jose Cuervo margarita in a bottle for $13 at Walmart. not only were we both guilty of not even finishing half of our food, we barely drank the margaritas because they were so terrible. Don't be fooled by their aesthetics and decor, there are far better authentic Mexican restaurants in Champaign Urbana to spend your money. I don't foresee this place lasting very long. read more

The food and service are great! The chips/salsa and burrito grande are fantastic! You get a beautiful "fire" candle for your birthday!

The place looks awesome.....BUT!! The food was bland and got a chimi changa it just didn't wow me like the decor did.. Service was ok a little pushy and the menu was a little hard to read..(small print). Whats up with c/u's mexi food its all gone to crap and the prices are high for what it is .. cheap meat in a tortilla.. I can do better at home and make 10 x's as much for the same price. read more

Hacienda Agave's interior looks fantastic. Unfortunately, their food is pretty forgettable. Most of the dishes seem to be the same generic stuff you'd find at El Toro or Dos Reales (they seem to be using the same recipes). In a town with Hauraches Moroleon, Maize, Los Hidalguense, and Fernando's, there's zero reason to go to a place like this. I ordered a chimichanga, which (as I understand it) is a deep fried burrito, often covered in a cheese sauce. Their version is a non-fried burrito covered in a cheese sauce. Seem like, by definition, not a chimichanga, but the server assured me "that's how we make it." It's hard to mess up Tex-Mex, but they found a way. The vibe is cool, but that's about it. read more

Great food and service! As Latino's who recently moved to the area, my partner and I were itching to find a Mexican restaurant that met our standard. I ordered the fajitas plate and my partner the enchiladas. I loved the fajitas, although it could have had larger cuts of beef. But, I did appreciate the flavor and smell. My partner says the enchiladas are the best you can find at a restaurant outside of the kitchen. Nice decor all around a place we plan to return to in the future. read more
