I was delighted to find some 8" X 8"s which were exactly what I was looking for. The workmen were very helpful in assisting me with handling the piece I wanted and once I'd agreed on a price with the manager they graciously provided a cut. I felt the need to tip the workmen as they were so helpful - even carrying the lumber out to my vehicle. All in all I was very pleased with my purchase and the service provided. The only thing that troubled me was that I found nails in the street immediately outside the yard and the next day - found I'd picked up TWO nails and had a ruined tire. I regret to observe there was road debris up and down the street. Perhaps I'm fortunate that I only had to replace one tire. Visitors beware of these road hazards !

Dasi, the person that takes the calls and makes the appointments (likely the owner of the company), is the WORST part of this company. Home and Art removed a huge Italian crystal chandelier (8' tall x 4' wide) from on office space in West Hollywood and had to install it onto a residential ceiling, 25' high. Granted, this is not by any means an easy job and the chandelier had hundreds of pieces, but the last thing I want to hear when the guys first see the job (the day they show up to start working) is "WOW! That's the largest chandelier I've ever seen!". That doesn't really promote much confidence in their ability. So my fault for not stopping them right there and then and heeding that red flag. I was confirmed to have 4 people (by Dasi) working this job and a little while in, 1 has to leave to "bid on another job". He didn't come back for a few hours!! I stepped in for those few hours, as the other guys needed the extra hands. - UNPROFESSIONAL They took apart all of the pieces of the chandelier but did not bring enough trays to transport the crystals (by like 10 trays!). - UNPROFESSIONAL Eventually, chandelier was taken apart and transported to the new location. Fast forward quite an extensive amount of time...chandelier is put up and while rehanging crystals, over 20 fall to the ground and shatter. (NOT at once but over the period of the installation!). - UNPROFESSIONAL Job is done and bill is served to me. I withhold $150 (HUGE MISTAKE for withholding so little and TRUSTING THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE CRYSTALS AS THEY/DASI HAD PROMISED!!) until they come back to replace the crystals they broke. (Mind you, I already paid them over $1,500) *Note that they were VERY upset that I would withhold ANY money and not "TRUST" that they were going to come back to replace the crystals, as they are "a very professional company"... Weeks go by with me calling and leaving messages for Dasi, asking when they were coming back with the replacements for the crystals they broke. Now it's been months and I've left many messages for the "oh-so-professional" Home & Art and DASI and not a single reply. Home & Art/Dasi are THIEVES! Learn from my mistake and don't trust them with anything of any value!!

They SAID they knew how to use the special "3 piece secured picture hanging hardware" we sent them photos of in advance. 1st: they made several mistakes with their spacing & measuring & had to re-hang many items. This put many extra holes in my newly painted walls.. some hidden, some visable. 2nd: They also did not use the secure hardware we provided (Thankfully my assistant actually checked & so they had to redo their work another day). 3rd: they knocked over & broke a beautiful pink candelabra that I've had for 15 years from a company that doesn't exist anymore. Irreplaceable and unfixable. 4th: then they BROKE my one-of-kind Lenny Kravitz platinum record! I was so upset, as this was a very special gift to me and is irreplaceable. Asi (from Home & Art) apologized & promised she would fix. she found a place to repair my plaque & sent her guys back to our home to pick up the plaque & fix the botched installation. That was almost 2 months ago. We have repeatedly called and emailed since then.. to no avail. They have not returned my plaque (nor have they refunded the candelabra AND I had to hire a handyman to repair & repaint the holes that were still visable from their hanging attempts). I forgot to mention that they charged my credit card (about $500) without my authorization. I sent one more email today & if they don't return my plaque ASAP & refund these crazy charges (which won't even cover the cost of the candelabra, handyman & time & stress), I will have to contact the authorities, with the hopes that they can help us receive our money back, and especially, my Lenny plaque back!
