This company does not have bus aides that are trained to handle children. Least of all special…read moreneeds children. My child is an autistic boy who has to use this bus company to and from school everyday. In recent weeks we have had a serious issue with one aide in particular. She screams and scolds the children on the bus saying things to them to purposely antagonize, intimidate and torment the young children. I witnessed her telling my son that he should shut his mouth because she was going to write him up and throw him off the bus. I asked her if she had spoken to the administrators at his school (fully knowing that the administrators had addressed this several times) and her response to me was "I don't do all-a dat." Then she walked back over to my son and said rude things to him under her breath so I couldn't hear her. For weeks I had wondered why he kept telling me that he was going to get thrown off the bus. This has not only caused disruptive behavior on the bus by the other children but now my son has anxiety and thinks about going on her bus all night. Last night he woke up four times to ask if he was going to be ok on the bus. I was expecting for the dispatchers to make it a point of firing her for this behavior or at the very least, change buses. Nope! Same aide came along today but I refused to send my boy. So instead of getting to pick on him today she decided to talk down to a younger child who can't communicate. This is disgusting behavior and I find it shocking that even after MULTIPLE complaints from both parents and school staff this company chooses to not make any changes and allow her to continue humiliate and belittle children. ***UPDATE I wanted to write to update my review. Changes were made. I've called and spoken to Virgin & Isabel they have been nothing but helpful, respectful and nice. Our normal driver William is ALWAYS amazing. Regardless of the day he always has a smile and greets us well. The new aide that you sent today named Dinirda (not sure of the spelling of her name) received my son, said hello to him and my husband and she made sure that he was safely secured WITHOUT having to be reminded. I wish that all parents could have that experience with your workers. People like those two make all of the difference.

This company is really bad. I wouldn't trust putting kids on the bus. They speed and not safe!!read more

It's a decent NJ Transit train station at the edge of Fair Lawn and Elmwood Park (the RR runs…read morebetween those towns), having trains run above grade, so it doesn't interfere with Broadway/Rt 4. There are no elevators in this station, whether it's to go to street level, or rapidly switchover to the other track, no bathrooms on site as well, or other amenities, unlike other popular stations. The next stations on the line are: Radburn (also in Fair Lawn, north), and Plauderville (Garfield, south), on the way to Hoboken (southbound, track 2) or either Waldwick, Suffern, NY, or Port Jervis, NY (northbound, track 1). On average, it takes 35 minutes to get to Hoboken, assuming there's no delays, and as of this review, it's 6.50$ for a ticket to Hoboken, and 20 minutes to Waldwick, 40 minutes to Suffern, and 2 hours to Port Jervis from this station. There's two tracks on this station, track 2 (on Elmwood Park's side) has the TVM and shelter, which can help on rainy/snowy days, while both tracks have benches lining along the pathway. Unfortunately, this station isn't accessible to those with wheelchairs, the closest one being in Paterson (which has an elevator). Street level, there's a dedicated spot for those who are expecting rides, and parking spots are across Broadway lining the station in Elmwood Park, which requires a permit. Definitely quiet on weekend mornings, a slightly higher amount on M-F mornings.

New Jersey Transit - Broadway - Fair Lawn Station - Train platform on a quiet weekday afternoon. Mind the gap while boarding. Train shelter on track 2 side, plenty of benches. (10/26/2017)

You are jolted around. Take the ferry before the one you think you should take so you can get to city in time for whatever you want to do. At $336 a month this Another week and more delays. Aaah yes, taking the ferry home on a Friday that also happens to be a prematurely warm and sunny not-quite-spring day. The ferry is too expensive to be a part of my daily commute. Comparing the $5.50 ride from World Financial Center to Jersey City (Paulus Hook) with the $1.75 PATH ride between World Trade Center and Exchange Place, you can see why the ferry is the Rich Man's PATH. Or, the poor man's cruise ship. Even the ferry terminal at World Financial Center is luxurious, at least compared to a PATH station. It's floating, and has a little balcony on the water where you can soak up that precious March sun while you wait for your ship to come in. It even had a nice clean bathroom, if you can handle the motion of the ocean. The PATH can't compare. The ferry ride takes about the same amount of time as the PATH ride (7 minutes from WFC to Paulus Hook). But unlike the five minutes you'll spend on the PATH, you can feel the salty wind in your hair, and the sun on your face, unless of course you get the boat where the upper level has been enclosed. But, still, you can pretend your itinerary takes you to somewhere more exotic than your average PATH stop... maybe Venice. A tourist you're not, but remember that some people travel far and wait a lifetime to glimpse these sights... the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Colgate clock, the tallest building in New Jersey, the tallest building in New York, cruise ships and tall sailing ships, all that and you can be home in time for dinner.
