After several minutes, the manager came over and asked if we had been helped. We simply answered, "No." The manager spoke with the server, apparently reprimanding her, and from that point on it was obvious she no longer wanted to wait on us. Another server took over, but didn't seem very happy about it either. The food was also disappointing. My smash burger was extremely greasy, my wife's salad arrived without any dressing, and no one ever came back to check on our meal or ask if we needed anything. To make matters worse, the customer our original server had been chatting with kept giving us dirty looks, as if we had done something wrong. We never complained or asked to speak with a manager--the manager approached us first because we had been sitting there without service. It made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. I was also surprised the manager didn't make any effort to recover the situation, even something as simple as comping my wife's glass of wine would have shown some concern for the poor service. When it came time to pay, no one even asked if I was using the Beef's rewards app, so I missed out on the $10 discount I had available. At that point, we just wanted to pay and leave. Having worked in the restaurant industry for 12 years, I know everyone can have an off day, and I'm normally a very generous tipper. This wasn't about one mistake--it was the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and no attempt to make things right. Too bad. We expected much better.
