I've been bringing my children to Pennie's Place for the last 2 1/2 years. I've pretty much had a child in every class from Infant up to Pre-k. They have done a wonderful job caring for my children. If there was ever and issue with falling and scrapping a knee, or scratching it was always brought to my attention. Children do those things. My favorite teacher's were... Miss Donna was excellent with getting my oldest son ready for Kindergarten. I'm sorry, my younger son won't have the opportunity to be in her class. ( We moved out the area, but I made the extra half hour commute so my oldest could finish out the year) She loved to have fun with the kids, and it showed. Both of the older boys adored her. MIss Rita( 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 yr olds) was also wonderful, the crafts she did with the kids were fantastic and she was always taking pictures of the kids and sending them home. Miss Kathy, in the Infant center, was there every morning before 7 am if I had to drop the kids off. I would go to her with any questions or concerns and she was always very helpful. Last but no least, Miss Courtney (infant center), she is always so thoughtful. I would often see her playing on the floor with the little ones.

The infant center we were comfortable with. The next class up from infant she would cry not to go... and if you said the teachers name she would look concerned and say noooo then say the ladies name. The owner is never around... I would never send my child there and still regret it! Even looking back at her pictures while she was there that they took of her, she looks sad she didn't open up until she was out of that place.

It was one of the first nursery schools and summer camps in the area. In May 1979, the Hutchinson family took over. While continuing the tradition, providing a quality preschool and kindergarten program they added child care. Today, two of the Hutchinson sisters, Marge McElroy and Susan Hagan, along with the help of their mother Marge Hutchinson, continue providing quality preschool and kindergarten programs for both the half day and full day student. The school has grown from thirty children in September 1979 to a daily enrollment of about one hundred children. Presently the aim is to support the current registration level without increasing it further. Enrollment is open to any toilet-trained child, age two and a half (2Â 1/2) years by September, through six (6) years by June, provided the school can meet the child's needs. Children enrolled two to five days a week for either half or full days. This allows families to choose the hours that best meet their needs.
