While I can't speak on Dr. Cardillo Sr., his son Dennis Cardillo Jr., an optician, helped me with the process of getting new glasses. Dennis was friendly, answered all my questions, and never rushed or pushed me into buying new glasses. My prescription is high, and so Dennis explained the different options for my glasses, including pricing. To ensure my glasses would be right, he had me try them on, marked my optical center, and measured my pupillary distance. He said it would take a week and a half for my glasses to be ready which it did (10 business days). Instead of just picking them up, I made an appointment to have them dispensed. That meant Dennis would have me try them on, and adjust them if necessary. This step I definitely appreciated. They also offer lasik evaluations. They are open Monday-Thursday only. No eye doctor in the past had a solution for dry eye which she wrote directions for. Happy for that! I also want to mention that her staff was so friendly and helpful. They went beyond the call of duty staying until 6 o'clock to finish up with my needs. I also wanted to note that the office is in a lovely yellow Victorian, with parking in the back. Dr Moon has one of the best dispositions and patience to listen and understand your concerns. Even when the office is extremely busy you always feel Dr Moon is paying attention to you and not trying to rush you out. There's also a great selection of designer frames such as Raybans, Gucci, Armani and Prada to name a few and sometimes you can catch a sale on sunglasses. For those like myself that are rough on your glasses you can feel comfortable stopping into the office and the staff or Dr Moon will adjust and clean your glasses happily. I've moved over 1.5 hours away recently and had an eye injury recently and still returned to Dr Moon for care. My kids have been going as long as I have and they still look to doctor moon for their contacts and glasses. I would not trust my eyes to anyone else.

I was a new patient and my mother has been a patient at this office for years. I called about two…read moreweeks before our appointments and scheduled both of us at the same time. I specifically made a new-patient appointment for myself and a returning-patient appointment for my mother. During that call, I provided my insurance information and said that my mother's insurance should already be on file. The person scheduling confirmed that it was. When we arrived for our appointments, we were told at check-in that the office has not accepted my mother's insurance for approximately three years. This was the first time either of us had been told that. Had we been informed when I scheduled the appointment, or even when the appointments were confirmed, there would have been no issue. Instead, my mother came to an appointment that the office apparently knew her insurance would not cover. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. The front desk was dismissive and unhelpful, and when my mother spoke with the office manager, the interaction was no better. The office manager also told her that the appointment had been made online. That is simply incorrect. I personally called the office and scheduled both appointments by phone, and I still have the call in my phone log. My mother also pointed out that the office's website still listed her insurance as accepted, which made the lack of communication even more frustrating. I did go forward with my own appointment, and I have no complaint about the eye doctor or the care I personally received. My issue is entirely with the scheduling, communication, and front-office handling of my mother's appointment. Insurance participation can change, and I understand that. But if an established patient's insurance is no longer accepted, that should be communicated when the appointment is scheduled, especially when insurance is specifically discussed during that phone call. My mother ultimately left without receiving the eye exam she had scheduled. A simple heads-up two weeks ago would have prevented the entire situation.
