I love this store, and go here for the meat and produce. But... they need to be more aware of the state of the fruit. I just purchased eight white peaces. They seemed reasonably firm, but when I got home I threw two away. They were clearly cold-storeage peaches, mealy, tasteless... they are $3.99/pound. And they are horrible. I bought a $31 Dungeness crab today from the seafood department. The man who wrapped it up said he would "double wrap it, to make sure it doesn't leak on the way home." So I didn't smell it until I got home and cleaned the thing. Rotten as could be! Taking one whiff of the shell had me gagging something fierce. So I take the rancid crab back to the store for a refund so I could buy something else. The Asian lady at the register whose name I didn't catch told me because of the Covid policy, they couldn't do any exchanges or refunds. Not even after selling me $31 worth of rotten crab! How do I go about getting my money back, I asked. "Put it in the freezer and come back when the pandemic is over." Excuse me, what? You want me to hold on to a rotten crab for untold months before I can get my money back? That's absurd! "Well you don't have to keep the crab. Just the receipt. Put it in a plastic bag and come back." I understand we're in unusual times, but customer service does not need to suffer for it. It's not like you were going to put the damn crab back in the case. AnYou bet I'll come back for my refund, and it will be the last thing I come back for ever again. You lost a loyal customer over a $31.40 crab. Congrats. UPDATE 6/11/2020 Shortly after writing this review I was contacted by a store manager to begin processing my refund. A few days after I gave them my contact info, Daryl the store manager called. He was very nice and apologetic, and we arranged for me to come back to the store the following day to get my refund. He was in an interview and unable to speak with me when I came, but he had his staff take good care of me. I was issued a full refund AND given a replacement crab, which I totally didn't expect, but was a very pleasant surprise. Accidents happen, but the manager and staff went above and beyond to make it right, and that's what counts. Thank you so much for the swift resolution. read more

Best deli and bakery in Marysville. I know this is a grocery store chain but everything there is 10 times more fresh and appealing compared to places like Safeway, Winco, and Fred Meyer. You can tell that they use quality ingredients in donuts, sandwiches, deli salads, and even their fried chicken. My daughter and I love their fried chicken. They have a good drumstick deal, 10 drummies for $7.99. I think that their donuts are so much more better than Henry's. I highly recommend going here for all your bakery and deli needs. read more

You are NOT getting the prices they advertise! If you do, make sure and check the expiration date! I have picked up "sale" items COUNTLESS times only to find the expiration date is MONTHS passed. Today (November 20) I picked up holiday cornflake cookies, only to find they were expired in the beginning of September! I then picked up some Noosa yogurt marked "on sale". I checked the date and it wasn't expired! When I checked out, the clerk greeted me with a curt "Bag?" I had no idea idea what she was saying so I said, "I'm sorry I didn't hear you?" She responded in a slow and demeaning tone, "W O U L D Y O U W A N T A B A G?" I told her "no thank you." And then, BIG SURPRISE, the yogurt rang up normal price. I challenged the clerk because this has happened COUNTLESS times. She rudely responded "yeah and you got the sale price." I told her that the discount on the screen was for a different item I had purchased. She checked the screen and admitted it was for a different item. She then said, "well I can send someone back to check the price if you want to wait." I told her "sure" even though the dollar and change was not worth the time, because I am so tired of this happening at Haggens. Another clerk who's name tag was "Aidan" came up and the first clerk handed him the item for a price check. As Aidan was leaving an older man in an electric scooter blocked Aidan's path and gruffly barked "Sunday Times!" Aidan attempted to help the man by handing him a newspaper while the elderly man barked at him for giving him only part of the paper or something. Aidan returned shortly later with the news that the item was not on sale unless I bought 5 more of the same item. I said that the sign had nothing about halving to buy 6 in order to get the sale price. The original clerk did NOT give me the sale price and I said I didn't want it then. I completed the transaction and went back to check the sale. The sign said "6 for $10" with nothing stating you had to buy 6 to get the sale price. Aidan was checking the sign as well and he apologized and said he had made a mistake and asked if I still wanted to get the item. I thanked him for taking responsibility but declined to go back through the line again. I have caught Haggens NOT ringing up sale prices more times than I can remember. If items appear on sale, the first thing I do is check the expiration date. More times than not, the items are expired. People are losing the ability to communicate in person. One-word questions or commands are demeaning and rude. Somewhere along the line Aidan learned something about customer service and treating people with respect regardless of how the other person treats you- but I highly doubt it was learned from management at Haggens who routinely sell out of date product and have computers that somehow routinely ring up "sale" items at normal prices. read more

11/23/2019 Bumping them down a star. Reason: Their complacent attitude in the meat department. This morning 1/2 of the meat / fish department smelled like an old nasty fish locker on a fishing boat. Either they're not cleaning things properly or they've got a lot of really rotten stinky fish they're trying to sell. When I nicely mentioned it to a couple of the employees in that department they just gave me looks like they don't give a crap and why am I even bringing it to their attention. I went in to do some grocery in between my busy schedule at Haggen. Bought all I needed though Haggen is usually more expensive in most items than Safeway or Fred Meyer but I like their meat produce for some reason. Lately the availability of variety of quality meat has gone down, disappointed. And the worst experience last night was that they didn't have a turkey for customers who bought $100+ of grocery as advertised. The printed advertisement said nothing about "while supplies last" but apparently the manager or the company decided its "while supplies last" bases. No signage at the door nor meat department for letting customers know free turkeys are not available. Such a false advertisement! Stand by what you offer publicly. It's very deceiving. Update: I don't know where to post this so here it goes. It's extremely odd that MacKenzie responded with the advice to leave the contact info on submissions@haggen.com. Haggens is my favorite store but it is not conveniently located. We love buying sushi and the fresh fruits and vegetables are top quality. They have good brauts and ham. It's about the only source for coffee flavored Brown Cow yogurt. We love their bakery for cakes and bagels. read more

This review is for Jackie in the cake department. I went a few weeks ago for some last minute birthday cupcakes for my daughter's class at school. Jackie quickly whipped up 24 cupcakes and she was so sweet and friendly! We got to talking and she mentioned that she designs many of the cakes at this Haggen, and she takes custom orders. I went home and found some panda cake inspiration pics on Pinterest (my daughter was having a panda themed party), and ordered a few panda toys and bamboo leaves and brought them in to her along with a printed inspiration picture. We picked up the cake only five days later and it was far beyond my expectations. It was the absolute cutest cake I've ever seen! Everyone at the party raved about the cake and no one could believe that I got it at Haggen!! Jackie is amazing!!! My daughter was so thrilled. Thank you so much, Jackie! Love it here! it is very homey, with little grandmas and gramps all over wandering, having tea time etc during the day. They have yummy sushi made fresh, and lots of local goodies throughout the store. The prices are a tad high for the area but you get great quality. The customer service could improve with eye contact and a friendly hello from time to time. I like the rotating seafoods, in season items, and all of the yummy pre-made food. Breathtakingly bad service. A beautiful store that runs exceedingly well, some reviews help to prove that. But pray to the Gods you never require actual service beyond simple pleasantries. As an LQBTQ person, this an unfortunately common theme for me. This now marks the 4th pharmacy I have had in 12 months and the 3rd Haggen. All 4 have mysteriously had nearly identical "technical bugs" resulting in me not getting my meds for a day or two. All 4 have had managers persistently talking over me and refusing to listen. THIS PARTICULAR STORE THOUGH, went above and beyond. Trying to avoid "technical bugs" again in the future, I have questions for the Pharmacy's recommended communication model. Not knowing all the answers, the Junior team member connects me to the Manager. The Pharmacy Manager accused me of threatening her team when I just had questions about communication, just completely flipped the topic, never even once came even remotely close to being aggressive or negative in any way. That one was waaaay out of left field. Like straight up only the dots a bigot could connect sorta thing. Trying to speak to the Store Manager just resulted in him constantly speaking over me not allowing me to even share my grievances. It was to a point I had to ask if I could have a voice and be heard at all. He said he wouldn't speak until I said I was done, he started talking again after my second sentence. I asked again if I could please have a voice and be heard, he just rambled on for a bit speaking over me more then hung up. Being part of the LGBTQ community I expect to be silenced and spoken over by 'certain people'. But this is a freaking pharmacy, I just want to exist, go get my meds, go back to existing. If a problem happens, cuz that's life, maybe I call and ask the best method I can do to avoid missing a dose. But no, the managers of Haggen would prefer to silence me and make a simple request for information into a HUGE ordeal. But hey, this place is an awesome place to go as long as you are not LGBTQ and have a problem. read more

Because of Covid Jackie and Laura teemed up and sent my bakery items along with the floral department delivery. What great service and thinking out of the box. Jackie has now done 2 custom cakes for me and both have been absolutely perfect! She is so friendly and easy to work with. Haggens has always been the top of the line grocery store in the northwest especially in Marysville. Our plan to shop there for thanksgiving was decided last week. Haggens in my opinion has always been the Nordstrom of grocery stores. I was very disappointed today to find out after shopping $190 worth of groceries that no free turkey was available. I would have thought a replacement of your choice would be given. I think it's a poor decision on their part not to take care of the customer. I'm a very loyal customer here in Marysville and am very disappointed. They are in their forth day of the holiday sale and people are being told to hang on to their receipt and come back Sunday night to pick up their free turkey. Now she is making my moms white cake with buttercream vanilla frosting. She has gone out of her way each time and so pleasant to work with. This is for the meat/sandwich section. Never assume that a customer has been to the location, thereby knowing the section's procedure. When asked if I wanted it to go or for here, I looked around to identify the eating location to ensure I would not be in the grocery section, and not be near the shoppers, this way I could enjoy my lunch. The lady behind the counter got annoyed and curtly re-iterated her question as though I had not heard the first time. I responded politely by saying that I had not been here and did not at first notice that they had a location to eat my sandwich. She laughed, then she my Reuben in there warming oven. She then walked off, so I went to where she was so I could wait for my sandwich. Making this relay shorter, a second lady behind the counter is rude, when I informed her that I didn't realize you cannot pay back at the deli. This is the worst Reuben I've had. The bread is warmed and soggy from the thousand island, the cheese is partially melted, and the middle of the meat is cold. This costs 5.99 plus tax. With the behind the counter service, the quality of the sandwich served, and the cost, this is my last experience here. I can get sh!t food for less and better food for the same amount in the town of Snohomish. read more

Fantastic grocery store. Best produce! Love this place for lunch. They have a big, indoor seating area for after you buy your lunch, with a fire place. On Wednesdays they have sushi specials. I had their wasabi crunch roll for lunch today, YUM! only $5 on Wednesdays. Everyday their salad special, is a good deal. Also they have a 1/2 a panini, cup of soup and a drink special fr $5. Really love this place, for lunch alone, or a group. The girls at my work love it, cause you can get so many different things and yet still eat lunch together. They have a Deli, a salad bar, a sushi maker, fresh made Chinese food, a bakery. Always fantastic service. Really great store! read more

The wine specialist at this store knows us now. We go to this store every weekend in the summer on our trek to the beach cabin on the res. This store is big by urbanite standards. I love their huge produce selection featuring Washington berries. They usually host a fireworks stand in their parking lot before July 4th for those who want to avoid Boom City. They have a pretty good seafood selection, but it's iffy on special cuts of meats, like veal, if that's your thing. But still, they have a lot. I like that they sell those small bottles of Coca-Cola too. During the summer, they offer a pretty good selection of bedding plants and hanging baskets along with other garden accoutrements. read more

I bought some delicious wedding cakes some years and came back to find a birthday cake. I spoke to the decorator who by the way is an excellent decorator. One of the employees commented that the carrot cake was the best she ever had and was convinced into to buying one. It was awful and put it in the rash. Dry and chewed mostly nuts and no hint of pineapple as she said was in the cake and dry with no taste. The frosting was off tasting and dry also. You might consider adding a pudding mix for a softer and more moist cake and a better tasting frosting. I also bought the chocolate drizzle cake which was very nicely decorated however the cake was dry! Again add pudding or find a moister cake. ZERO STARS IF I COULD************ On the day of Mother's Day, my fiance (out of state in the Army) had Haggen FTD florals hand deliver a $70 bouquet of flowers to my mom around noon at her house. He had ordered this five days prior. I had work the whole morning and very, very unhappy when I called home around 3 pm that day and she had NOT yet received it. I called Haggens in Marysville immediately, requesting there ETA on the delivery. The lady looked up the recipient (My mom's name) and couldn't find any information what so ever in her system, She recommended I call the 1-800 number on their website. I called and talked to a representative, Alyssa on the East coast and she informed me all her supervisors have left for the day and there's nothing she can do about it. She asked for my name and number and informed me that her supervisors will get back to me ASAP in the morning. It being Mother's day of course all stores are wipe out of their bouquets, although I found an alternative at my local Fred Meyers, I was still unhappy with Haggens Floral and their lack of communication. The next day 12pm PST which is 3pm Eastern Time, I had not receive one phone call. I called that 1-800 number again and explained to the representative, (Brandi) the problem. She then said, "Oh... yeah I see your order here,,, hmm.. let me call the delivery people and see what I can do..?" No, you need to let me know what the hell happened to my order! She says, there was no note that said the bouquet wasn't delivered or not and that she had no idea I called the day prior about this because her worker did not leave any message for her!! I was very angry at this point and I asked to speak to her manager and she stated she was the supervisor there, I ask her what can she do now? She said, "I will get them to deliver the bouquet sometime today..?" That's all?! I don't need your flowers anymore, I needed it YESTERDAY! She said she can "upgrade" the bouquet and sent an apology with it as well. I said I need my full refund and her name. I understand it was Mother's Day and it gets busy in the floral industry but for them to not call me that day and say, oh sorry we are unable to deliver or call me back when they said they would. But for them to blindly look past my order was ridiculously uncalled for! And all she can do for me is "upgrade" the bouquet? My fiance has been purchasing flowers through them for a couple of years now and every time he has them sent to me at work its always at the wrong times he asked. We are officially done ordering flowers from Haggens. Worst customer service ever. I even went on their website to write to them but NO email information to be found. It just brought me back to the 1-800 number with the SAME damn lady. read more

This grocery store is a tad outta my way - I'm in Seattle, it's in Marysville. But anytime I venture up to Marysville to visit family, I have to make a stop at Haggen. A huge, tidy, and oddly quiet grocery store tha'ts a respectable mix of an upscale market like Larry's with Safeway. But what really drives me to put 5 stars here is the other day I stopped there with my daughter. We were looking for munchies to get us through our drive home. I, trying to eat healthy (oh shaddup), wandered through the produce section. What caught my eye were 5 artichokes for $10, they were huge too with tight leaves - sounds perverted I know but seriously this is how to pick a good choke. Anyhoo, knowing that this grocery store, like so many these days, has a store card with special savings, blah blah blah. I looked all over the sign and where the chokes were on displayed to find that bit about savings only applying towards a store card. Nothing. But of course that's not the case when I get rung out. The cashier stated it was a card savings, and I replied with a chuckle that I had a feeling even though it wasn't stated. She refuted my claim that no signage noted that it was a club savings. I tried to laugh it off, but she mentioned it again. I declined wanting the chokes at that point, and told the cashier that she was making me feel awkward about that pricing and if we could just move that would be great. Turns out, she felt bad that I was "confused" and sold me the chokes for $1 a piece. $1 each! Holla! read more
