Mom had no complaints and neither did we a month AFTER mom passed on 1/9/23 when we received the bill... We visited mom that evening after her death and took everything out of the room except her clothes and unopened personal care items which, when we asked the staff if we could donate to anyone there in need, were told that we could. NO CONTACT UNTIL 3 WEEKS AFTER SHE PASSED. Then, on 1/30 when we received a call asking about the clothes still in the room, we advised that we asked to donate those to anyone in need and were told that we could. Bill time comes around at the beginning of February and we were charged over $1700.00 for the time for the room after mom passed while her clothes that we ASKED IF WE COULD DONATE AND WERE TOLD WE COULD. When I called and explained what happened, I was basically told in a professional way that "they don't do that" and that we needed to pay $76 for every day the room wasn't cleared out. So, instead of maybe calling us a week or so after they realized the clothes were still in her room, they didn't call until the end of the month so they could get $1700 from a grieving family.

Loved one went unwashed and the same clothes many times. Would visit Monday and find them in the same clothes with food and other stains on Friday. The only thing the staff saw as their job was to serve meals. Would not hire them at McDonalds!!! Felt at the mercy of the Sunrise (tried to be nice and not rock the boat). Finally moved to another facility and experienced the difference. Very different when you receive the care you are paying for. Please find another place to place for your family. They have memory care unit, just to say they have one. No effort or care. Very sad.

I moved my loved one out of Arbor, as the facility was unable to perform the care and services it prescribed under the state mandated Resident Supported Care Plan RASP. My patience was exhausted after many many months of complaining about, among many other things, finding her sheets dirty (as in attached photos) and her room uncleaned as well.

Pretty disturbing violations on Arbor Terrace of Exton, along with above observation founded by the state, I would encourage others to review and factor the number of violations against Arbor Terrace Exton from the Department of Human Services (DHS) that range from abuse, neglect, and mishandling of medications. Personal care homes are inspected and their performance is made public so that you can make an educated decision when helping your loved ones. Check out the repeat violations and ongoing lack of adherence to state requirements. In fact Arbor Terrace of Exton was unable to renew their license earlier this year. Check out employee reviews on indeed- very telling as well.
