For a few years I stayed away due to the loneliness of the location HOWEVER....... We took a chance and my oh my!! Best wonton soup, everything is made fresh, even late night! I respect a business like this. May be tired and old but its mainly take out and I can honestly say that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Seriously! Do yourself a favor!! Get some BBQ spare ribs, some Szechuan chicken, fried rice, whatever. Its all good!! Its too bad that strip mall is dead with BigLots and private equity destroying a once staple in many communities. First time here, Ordered take out onsite for a large group. Great service, family run business, with amazing food. We ordered a little bit of everything and it was hot fresh and so good. While I'll admit that I've never physically been inside this restaurant, I do order take out here often. The food is always tasty and delivered fast. Best hot and sour soup around! I've never been disappointed by anything new I ordered and sometimes we even get freebies. They can be a bit abrupt on the phone but I think that comes with being very busy. Give it a try. read more

Hey , don't let a ten year old child take orders over the phone ..... I paid 70 bucks and then didn't get parts of my order . Then I didn't get a part of what I ordered . Hai Ru is awful. Horrible service... the lady at the front is nasty to her other workers. it takes them along time to deliver. (I also live in ontario) the food is descent at best... can tell it's mostly pre-made though... It would probably be shut down if a health inspector went in to this place it's disgusting. I give it two stars only because of it's relatively cheap food and OK at best food. I would not recommend trying this place. read more

I have called in the past, and because I know many Chinese restaurants use fake crab or logostineos, I made sure to ask if the Lobster LoMein had real lobster in it and not fake crab or logostineos. They assured me it was real lobster, after it was delivered and they had my money, all of a sudden they can't understand a word you are saying yet when they take your order and lie straight to your face they claim to understand everything you are saying just long enough to get your money then go back to pretending they are stupid and can't understand the complaint even though the complaint contains most the same word I used when ordering. Happened again last night when they assured me it was going to be white meat chicken and I don't think it was any kind of meat. It was gelatinis, had trouble cutting with a fork, kind of fatty substance, nothing resembleing white meat chicken, and again of coarse when I call back and try to complain and return food for the money I paid, they all of a sudden can't understand anything, even though you are repeating what just took place and then (When they are taking your order and lying to you)they understood you perfectly. read more

mediocre food...I recommend getting the fried dumplings and dipping them in duck sauce. It tastes like a combination of Jesus and bacon in your mouth. The lady in the front constantly gets pissed because of competition between them and Magic Wok. I prefer magic wok b/c the location and they actually clean their tables, while at Hai Ru my shirt got stuck to the disgustingly sticky table. I would recommend ordering instead of pick-up, the inside is nasty. *Stay away from the egg-rolls..... they didn't sit well in my stomach.. read more
