After my favorite Chinese takeout location closed during the early part of the pandemic, I've been searching for a suitable replacement. I can be a bit picky about Chinese takeout, but Yummy House stood out to me because their menu had a couple unique options - like the Philly Cheesesteak eggroll (which, for the record, I ordered 2. They were delicious!). Originally, friends and I were craving Chinese the day after Christmas - and since none of us had been to Yummy House before, we ordered a number of different dishes. Considering everything we ordered, the food was quite affordable. There were a couple things that we all agreed might be better with a bit more sauce, but the quality of the food was generally pretty good. (Though the fried rice could also do well with more veggies or eggs - it's pretty plain.) I drove to Yummy House itself and picked everything up. It's definitely nothing to look at - inside or outside - but service is attentive and polite. It's quite small inside, with a single table, 2 chairs, and a little ordering/pickup window. Overall, a pretty standard Chinese takeout experience. Not sure if I'll be back, but I appreciate the inclusion of some unique menu options. read more

I was not expecting much because I have been let down so many times locally but this was absolutely delicious! The sweet and sour chicken was the perfect amount of breading and perfectly fried no sogginess the General Tso's was decent the pork friend rice was amazing and flavorful and the chicken lo mein was decent not the best but decent. The price was also good 40 bucks for three people eat till they were stuffed, good portions. read more

I've ordered several times. The food is almost always good. The only time Ive had problems with the food is when ordered less than a hour before they close. One time I had a really large order and it was perfect. Only problem was they said 20 minutes and it took about 50 for pick up so I sat there waiting. Only other disappointment is the spicy mustard packets. A few small complaints won't stop me getting food from here. Probably the best take out Chinese in Rochester. read more

Our Yummy House take-out order turned out to be an unexpected delight! It was the first time we ordered Chinese takeout since moving to Rochester and Yummy House didn't disappoint us at all. First of all, I was impressed with how quickly Yummy House was able to prepare and deliver our dinner. At 5:38 pm I placed an online delivery order from their website, the est delivery time they provided was 6:32 pm. Which is a reasonable time for delivery. However, I was surprised to receive a call at 6:11 pm informing me that my delivery driver was outside. 33 minutes to prepare and deliver 3 dinners and appetizers! Impressive On to more important things...the food! We ordered 3 dinner combos; Sesame Chicken & B-B-Q Wings with shrimp fried rice, Bar-B-Q Spare Ribs with pork fried rice, and Chicken Teriyaki, Boneless Spare Ribs with pork fried rice, and Crab Rangoons. Everything and I means EVERYTHING was delicious. There was nothing that we did not like. The chicken and ribs were cooked to perfection, it was all well seasons and tender. The fried rice was very good and flavorful as well. Our favorite was the Crab Rangoons...Yum! We are all very happy with our meal and look forward to trying other Yummy House dishes. P.S. The best part was our order, delivery charge and tip only cost $49. The delicious meal and the speed at which it was delivered were well worth the cost in my opinion. read more

I'm not sure why this place has been around for so long, and there's barely any reviews and no photos. Are people scared of the location? Anyways, great prices, and the food was excellent. The star out of the things I ordered was the cheesesteak egg roll. OMGoodness, so yummy. I wish I had bought 5 of them instead of one. I had the "Amazing Chicken" house specialty, which was chicken breast pieces with mushrooms, broccoli, those tiny corn things, and carrots, doused in an interesting and slightly spicy sauce. Very, very delicious. Also had sesame chicken, which was also yummy and made perfect, and some crab rangoons, which were not as good as other places, but a steal for 10 at the price. Picked up a lunch order of king po chicken and steamed dumplings. It was ready quickly and the order was accurate. At just under $16, I feel it is a great value for hot, delish food. I will be back. Pretty standard takeout Chinese restaurant on the inside with the faded picture menus. There is a table inside but I'm not sure if it's available for customer use or even if you'd want to use it if it was. It is a bit tight getting in and out of the parking lot. There are lots of businesses around there and Dewey can be busy. The location is what it is and it's still worth going if you ask me but you might go for delivery if that's an option. read more

It was our first time getting takeout from this place and we will definitely try it again. My boyfriend is pretty picky about takeout, but he enjoyed the pepper steak with onion. He said the veggies were still a bit crisp, which he enjoyed, and the pork fried rice wasn't all dried out. I had the special house pan fried noodle and I felt like I was feasting. There were so many tasty veggies and morsels of meat. The huge shrimp were especially tasty. I was able to make 3 meals out of it! My boyfriend liked the cheese steak egg roll. It was different than what we thought it would be, but good. We also tried their sampler platter for one and we thought the chicken wing and chicken on a stick were great. We moved to our home on the Greece/city border 4 years ago and YUMMY HOUSE was the first takeout Chinese food we had delivered and thought it was great. Since then we have tried maybe 1 or 2 other Chinese restaurants but always return to our tried and true friends at YUMMY HOUSE. Their food is ALWAYS consistent and delicious and it constantly amazes me that even though the owners barely speak english (which I think says a lot about the authenticity of the food) they have NEVER gotten my order wrong! Even thou I am certain they didn't understand a thing I said, when I open my order, which is always delivered steaming hot, EVERYTHING is accounted for, even the little extras I ask for, like chili oil and extra duck sauce! Now why is it that the all American employees at McDonald's & Wendy's, who speak and understand english just fine, can't seem to get my hamburger order right...ever? ;).
