We came with a group of 8, we were sat with a table of 5, spanning 2 hibachi grills (they seat 8 each grill) because apparently they were running behind and seemed to be short staffed. The person taking our orders was SO short with us, like zero pleasantries, drill Sargent taking orders that we didn't have a second to ask for gyoza for an appetizer, and our friend who wanted to order sake bombs was denied as well. So odd because we were the last table they took for the night (7p reservation) so there was no rush behind us. Food was fine, I think the portions decreased some over time but whatever. The bill came, they tacked on a 20% bill, I'm going to assume because we were a party of 8, but then the receipt also recommended an additional 20% tip which our friend fell for and they never leveled this. Finally as we're finishing our last bites, they came to clean the grill with lemon juice resulting in this burnt-smelling lemon juice...it was putrid and just a slap in gee face following that whole experience.

It came with a Thai chili sauce that complimented the dish well. As for the sushi, the white tuna roll and the sushi deluxe was probably the freshest tuna and salmon I've had in Syracuse. The rice to fish ratio was perfect. The ginger was tasty. The miso soup was a little bland and the salad was standard for sushi restaurants. Overall, I had a really amazing time here. The service is absolutely impeccable and all of the waitresses were so attentive and kind. I will definitely come here again!

For entrees, the girlfriend opted in for the Teriyaki Steak Bento Box. The steak was tender, and a huge highlight was the tempura. Hot, crispy and perfectly fried. As for my Sushi Deluxe, I was a bit disappointed. The salmon tasted off, and as much as I don't personally like tilapia, even by tilapia standards, these weren't good. I did however enjoy the yellowtail since it was a cut from the belly section and the sweet shrimp (a la carte). We found our server to be on the dull side. He came off as if he hasn't gotten sleep in a few days and didn't seem too happy to be there. This is just our observation and definitely affected our entire revisit to a favorite restaurant of mine. We can also overhear a man at the host stand teaching a young girl mathematics and can overhear her frustration with it. Our Asian Sandwich came with no tempura flakes on top which states it does on the menu. This wasn't the great experience I've had over the years, and I'm on the fence whether to return or just make the drive to Rochester and visit one of the Japanese restaurants there.

Everyone loved the French fries, which is not the norm for AYCE sushi. Kids also loved the chicken nuggets, shrimp tempura, crab Rangoon, yakisoba noodles, and steak hibachi. We also cashed in our points that were on our card to save a few more dollars, so we paid $30 total for the two of us, with non alcoholic drinks included. I'm vegetarian, and there's a lot of options for me. Off the top of my head, there's pizza, garlic sticks, salad, macaroni salad, soft pretzel sticks, fried mac and cheese, baked potatoes, rolls, spring rolls, and a make your own pasta station. Now, of all of that, the macaroni salad and the pretzel stick were good. The rest was just ok. There was also pimento macaroni and cheese, but I really didn't like that. And I didn't do the pasta station this time, but that is usually good. Like all buffets, it changes, so everything isn't available each time you go. On the dessert bar, there is an Oreo pie that I really like. I usually go get that first to make sure I get a piece, lol. Of the whole buffet, that is the one thing that I truly like. Everything is ok, but nothing is amazing. The pie is really good though. My husband is not vegetarian, and he is really why we come here.
