I appreciate the calls from Lisa a day in advance to remind me of my appointment; this is an extra courtesy. To be honest, I would never forget an appointment. I love seeing Lisa, Mia, and Liv; they're friends! And I never leave Hair A Go-go without feeling better about myself because Mia and Liv are Grade A+ professionals. There is no push to have me buy products, but Mia is great about providing advice when I ask for it. A good experience with a stylist is not about products; it's about a great style that is easy to maintain because the haircut is so good! Mia provides me with a great cut every single time. I love talking with her. She's warm and fun. She did my hair for our daughter's wedding and told me that, even if she had not been scheduled to work that day, she would have come in just to do my hair. I think the world of her. Book my appointment online and they had several spots available, just to find out couple hours later they canceled my appointment and couldn't offer a reasonable explanation or convenient time. I looked high and low for an Italian product that I had originally gotten from a friend. Only place I could find is on Hair A Go-Go site. I was so happy to find tho. Ordered by mail. So disappointed. Original was a nice thick cream. The product I got here appears to be terribly watered down, almost liquid. I went in the service was good. All I needed was new hilights and the experience was good except for the fact that when I had got hilights I wanted blonde hilights and they ended up orange. She said it would take time for them to lighten up but I'll follow up in a week on yelp for the complete review. Right now I am not satisfied. Went to Sarah yesterday to get some damage cut off. After a consultation and gathering a game plan, Sarah knew exactly what I wanted. She took her time with the cut and the texturizing added much needed volume to my thin hair. I couldn't be more pleased with the final product. A previous reviewer commented this place is targeted to teens. That is just not the case. It's a Gen-X salon, playing the greatest alternative hits of the 80s. It made me happy and upbeat because of all of the nostalgia. The only thing that would have made it more fun was if the B-52s themselves were doing everyone's hair. My appt was with Tara. I brought in a pic of a cut I liked, and I walked out with the exact same cut, and it was fabulous. That's only happened to me once before in my 45 years. I felt very welcome. The employees were not stuck up but were very entertaining and hospitable. I was offered all different kinds of beverages, including hot tea, which was a great thing to offer someone on a rainy, dreary, gray February day. It was one of the most pleasant salon experiences I've ever had and I highly recommend it. It's a total experience, complete with plenty of kitsch! This salon has good reviews, so I feel like they most do something well, but to people like me who just want some layers, go somewhere else. High prices do not equal high quality. read more

This salon environment is a bit gimmicky and I feel like it caters to teens more than to grown women, and a lot of the salon is devoted to shelving for products, and as you might guess from hearing that, they do put a LOT of effort into trying to sell you expensive product you don't need the whole time you're there. The cut + color is pretty pricy but standard for the area. Service was just okay, I don't know what it is about hair stylists but they quite often just seem to have the most better than thou attitudes ever. Cut + color, again just okay, there are better salons here in Nashville where I am now so I'm thankful for that. I've yet to find a stylist who will drop the attitude though, I guess it's just standard in that industry. read more

I called and scheduled an appointment with Alisha Day after having a bad at home bleach experience. I am trying to get to an ice blonde and had a lot of yellow and brass tones in my hair. After speaking with Alisha we decided to lift my hair as much as possible with a full head foil using bleach and olaplex. She did an absolutely AMAZING job!!!! My hair was not damaged at all and lifted to a beautiful blonde without any brass or yellow tones. It isn't the ice blonde I eventually want, but that takes time to get too. I wanted to like this place. It's been so long since I've had a bad haircut, I forgot to throughly research suggestions beforehand. I was trying to find a place that is close to downtown so I thought I'd give hair a go go a go (hah!). I walked in and got an appointment within the hour with Alisha. The lobby makes me think of american eagle, couches with televisions with music videos playing. She was very friendly. Hair wash was standard, conversation a little forced but that's to be expected. Biggest haircut pet peeves: 1. Multiple complaints about how fried my hair is-hmm maybe that's why I'm here so that I can get the damage cut off??? 2. Going overboard with the products. I don't use any products because I have fine hair I don't need 5 different products in my hair. 3. Overdoing it with the suggestive selling. I just want a hair cut, i understand that it's probably part of the job to sell your products but it doesn't need to be mentioned multiple times. 4. Doing the opposite of what I say. I want long layers, I've had long layers for the past 4 years and I like how they look. Please don't cut short layers and tell me that it's better after I know what I like and want. Usually a haircut is bad because they cut too much off but four days later I'm seeing so much damage left over after all the complaining about my fried hair. I said 2 inches off and long layers. I've got some random short layers in the back, a few snips from the bottom and a whole lot of damage left over. ugh $36. Money down the drain. read more

I went to this salon based strictly off of yelp reviews and their Facebook page. I recently moved here and needed a new hair stylist, and thought I would try this place. I called and got an appointment within a few hours with Autumn. The salon itself is very nice, the atmosphere is very lively but I was a little worried when I walked in that I was going to wind up paying a fortune. Autumn listened very well to what I wanted done, she listened and repeated it back to me to make sure we were on the same page. Th cut is great, however she tried to dry my curly hair straight with loose curls and it looked awful. I wound up having to restyle it when I got home because my hair was trying to overcome what she'd done and curl it's own way. I will definitely be back and ask for Autumn, but I'll ask her to style it differently after. read more

I have been to Hair-A-Go-Go once, but was satisfied with my cut. I had made another appointment to have my hair colored/highlighted but received a call (and message) from the salon telling me they would no longer see me, that they have not been able to "satisfy me in the past". I tried to tell the rep that I had only been there once, and was satisfied with the stylist, left a generous tip, AND purchased their products. I was hung up on. I am bewildered and disappointed that a business reaches a point that they think they can treat people in whatever manner they choose. read more

I went to this place last week to get burgundy highlights and a side cut. I had an appointment with Alicia and my hair came out awesome! I went to a different place in town for highlights earlier and the color did not stand out in my dark hair. My hair is a bright burgundy color that stands out and Alicia did a great job of speaking with me about how I wanted my hair done (especially since I was shaving part of it off). Great salon! I walked in without an appointment and was immediately assured I could get a cut. Alisha was friendly and listened to my cut requests, then suggested several B&B products and a new drying method that I loved. I couldn't believe the price was only $36, when I've paid $70 in Atlanta for a lesser-quality cut. Everyone at Hair a Go Go was down to earth and not snobbish like at other salons. I was attracted to this hair salon because it looked hip and modern, and the reviews online were very good. I was really excited about this salon because I have been on a hunt for a hairdresser in Chattanooga for awhile but haven't had luck, so i thought I might have found THE one. I booked an appointment for a haircut-- when I arrived for my appointment I had a few questions, the receptionist was not knowledgeable about the products and hairstyles that is described in their website. Initially the hairdresser was friendly, then she was constantly pointing out how I had so much hair and how thick it was. The whole experience was a disaster. I have Latina hair curly/frizzy hair and the haircut was terrible. I do not recommend this salon it's pricey and you do not get your money's worth. Still on the hunt for an an excellent hairdresser that knows how to work with curly/frizzy hair and won't complain about it! ;) read more
