Tiny shop with…read moreinferior tools products and scheduling Instead go to IVO Salon in Campbell H17 @ Hamilton/Bascom. Excellent service better salon, more equipment better products nicer people and better prices Scheduled a hair cut with consultation for a color for my son. We live in Saratoga however lived in Santa Cruz and Santa Cruz Mountain area for 15 years so always looking for a good reason to go over the hill. Precious did not provide exact location details for the first visit. Had no idea this location was so hard to find on first try. I've been to the Hemp clothing and Sports Apparel hemming location 10 years ago, but unless you know EXACTLY where it is in this complex, add 10 minutes to driving around in circles We arrived 15 minutes after. I know I know, late. After driving in circles I dropped by son off with his friend so they could try to find it on foot. They ran around and in/out of buildings and were directed by another business how to get there. Before I got there, Precious had told them (they are both teens) that said its too late to be seen for a haircut and she would only give a consultation. Anyway once I found the business, my sons friend approached me and she said that Precious was turning him away but will give him a color consultation. I was shocked. Yes it was My bad, We were late. I just didn't think she was going to be so rude and blunt and hard lined about it. She did not even call her next appt to ask them arrive 15 min, so she offered my son only a color consultation. She was headlined about it even when I explained CoVid is more hectic than ever with work, driving over the hill, no directions had us driving in circles and running on foot. Nothing. The place is very tiny and forget about an additional person being inside. I did not know that either. She could have said "sorry" but that is definitely not her personality. The wind was blowing pretty hard and it was cold waiting outside Anyway, when my son came out from color consultation she gave us two options. 2 weeks from now for haircut or 3 weeks from now to do cut/color. We preferred cut/color. She told us Feb 24. My son said that is my birthday, Precious said "well you can sit in the chair" I asked for other options. Precious said "2 weeks for cut" Clearly Precious ONLY wanted us to take the date of my sons birthday. The 24th. We made it clear we had plans and it's my sons birthday. Precious was inflexible. So we scheduled Feb 24th, my sons birthday. He moved a few birthday plans to Tuesday Feb 23rd so he could accommodate Precious, not the other way around. So here comes a short 2 days before and Precious texts him to move to cut/color from Wednesday 02/24 (His birthday) to now Tuesday 02/23 - the date that he changed his his rescheduled birthday plans to accommodate her. Precious expected us to be accommodating and flexible while clearly she is not. Precious was dismissive on our scheduling, driving over the hill, WFH during CoVid and birthdays but when it came to HER needs, she somehow thought they were valid and meaningful but ours were not. Skip this establishment. Truly.

About halfway through I realized I've been coming often enough that the monthly membership would make sense for me. Slightly discounted from the regular price. I've had multiple stylist and all good experiences but some I liked more than others- Phoebe, Gabby, Scar, and Iannkel are my favorites. I show them inspo pics of what I want and they work their magic. I love the products they use in my hair - it always smells so good when I'm done. It's that dry bar signature scent. I will say I've been to other dry bars like in Palo Alto and SoCal that didn't do a great job but I've had great experiences at the LG location. Just find a stylist or two you really like and stick with them.

Unfortunately, we got stuck in traffic, so I called ahead to see if we could push the appointment back by about 15 minutes. The person I spoke to on the phone was rude and immediately shut it down, repeatedly citing their 15-minute grace period. I explained the situation and still tried my best to make it there within that window. We arrived at 4:44 into the parking lot and ran into the building at 4:46pm, I was parking and helping my elderly mother-in-law out of the car--I wasn't going to rush off and leave her behind just to check in a minute earlier. When we got to the front desk, they refused to accommodate us. The receptionist said she would "go ask the manager," but the time spent doing that could've been used to actually start our services. There was zero flexibility, zero empathy, and no effort to make a birthday visit feel special. We ended up leaving without getting our hair done. For a service-based business, especially one centered around pampering and customer experience, this was incredibly disappointing.

I always entrust my clients to Aime from Glamology, she is hands down the BEST hair and makeup wizard there is, she has the experience of working with brides that get married along the coast and it is so important because the ocean mist and the winds are usually not something to be taken lightly. When it was my turn to get ready for my vow renewal, I wouldn't have trusted anyone but her. She understood very well that I am not someone that normally wears makeup and she listened carefully to my request to make me look as natural as possible. I was glowing, she enhanced my natural features without making me look like a different person, which I was admittedly very nervous about. My hair was done by Malerie, Glamology's curly hair specialist and again, WOW! my hair had never looked better, what's even better is that despite the strong winds and mist in Big Sur that day, my curls looked amazing for 3 days!!!! Also, something that I have not experienced with other stylists, is that she takes the time to talk to you about your expectations, she is quick to respond to any questions and very professional. The whole experience was amazing, the couple of hours that I spent at Glamology on my wedding day were as special as the rest of the day, I would never trust anyone else with doing my makeup, Aime and Glamology forever!

I am absolutely in love with what she did with my hair this session. The color is spot on and actually better than my original inspo. Stefhanie is well educated in her suggestions and helped me decide what would be best for my hair goals. The whole process was informative and thorough. love that she takes her time but also times her bleach perfectly to avoid potential damage. I washed my hair for the first time after my appointment and it feels so healthy. The products she recommended helped lock in moisture and I appreciate that. Location wise This is a new studio and I prefer this over the previous salon she was in. It feels more intimate and private. The atmosphere is homey and relaxing. Aside from the salon and her skills, Stefhanie is also very easy to talk to and the 6 hours speed by like nothing! 5/5 stars please do yourself a favor and go here!!

I really wanted to love this place, but for the price... it was mid at best…read more I came in for an extra-long blowout with extensions $135 + tax (which already felt questionable since personal services like hair in CA are generally non-taxable... Google is free). Add $12 parking at Union Square garage, so close to $170 deep for a blowout. For that price, I expected polished. What I got felt rushed. I paid extra for extensions but was paired with someone who clearly didn't have much extension experience. The wash was super quick (definitely no massage), and when she brushed my hair she was rough, like yanking-my-head-around rough. At one point she even asked, "Does that hurt?" which is never a comforting question mid-service. By the end, one of my front extension beads had been pulled out, leaving a noticeable bump at the front of my hair for weeks. When she finished the blowout, we both kind of looked at it like... ummmmm. It just didn't look good. She asked if I wanted her to touch up the front, so she grabbed a curler for my bangs, and literally picked old hairs out of it before wrapping my hair. I wish I was kidding. It felt very last-minute. She adjusted a few pieces I pointed out, and I left saying, "Maybe it'll fall and look better later?" She said, "Yeah..." It completely fell the next day. I ended up touching it up myself. Before leaving that first appointment, I asked if I could come back for the complimentary touch-up and upgrade to a half-up style by just paying the $30 difference. I was told yes, of course. Three days later I came back downtown for my touch-up. New stylist. I asked about upgrading to the half-up and paying the $30 difference like I was told. She checked and came back saying no - I'd have to pay the full $165. I said I didn't have time for a full wash and everything, and she said, "Oh you don't have to wash, we can just do the style." But for the full $165 For just styling. Wild. So I just did the complimentary touch-up. Ironically, she used a straightener for the curls and it looked way better and lasted way longer which only reminded me how poorly the first blowout was done. Overall, the vibe felt slightly annoyed and not very welcoming. For this price point, I expect consistency, extension experience, and a polished result. Instead I left feeling overcharged and underwhelmed.

Thankfully, Blowology Dry Bar and Spa came through! I needed a slicked-back bun for an event, and my stylist, Ali, was awesome. He took his time, made sure it wasn't too tight (huge win for my scalp), and the end result looked great. He even gave me a discount since it was his first time doing a bun for a customer. which I thought was super thoughtful. I also thought the ambiance of the salon was super cozy and brought all the vintage vibes!
