The application of hair dye was messy and washing out my hair was very tense and harsh. The straightening of my hair was rough - and felt like something was scraping my hair verse smoothing it out. Fortunately, the color is nice but the path to get it was not pleasant. Then to get to the end and pay for it was a bit shocking. From there you can sort by the availability of each stylist or by the day. You are able to control who does your hair and there is a brief description of the stylist that you can read prior to scheduling. I booked my appointment on Sunday and made it for the next day. Kendra was my stylist and made sure my cut was exactly as I wanted it before leaving. She was pleasant and didn't rush. I was very happy with my results. I also ended up scheduling an appointment for my teenage daughter with a different stylist (Natalya). She cut my daughter's hair just as she asked and even put some waves in it. The salon is on the larger size with many stylists working at once. I know prices of haircuts have gone up, but they seem to charge the same as other salons in the area, if not less. I payed $60 each for our haircuts, and after looking around at other salons, some were charging $70-$80 for the exact same service. I would definitely recommend trying then out if you haven't already. I don't know why it has taken me so many years to try this salon for as many times as I have driven by over the years.

Because of the pandemic, it had been about 10 mos since my last trim, so I really just wanted someone to lop off the ends. Summer was super friendly, completely fine with me just wanting a trim, and I was out within an hour--complete with blowdry. My hair was soft , shiny, and smelled great, and the head massage was perfect.  I'm from LA, but love it in Montana and get up here when I can, so I'm here for a break from work (social services). Altruist is within walking distance of where I'm staying, so it was pure luck I wound up here and I'm so glad I did. Like I said, Summer was super friendly, sharing trails she likes and things to do -- if you're reading this, Summer, we're doing Blue Mountain today! -- and it was neat to hear she and the others at Altruist provide free haircuts at the Missoula Community Project Connect Days organized by The United Way. The fact that I can get a haircut, here (unlike in LA b/c of COVID), and by someone so easy to talk to, at place involved in the community, was icing on the cake of an already great trip.  Thank you, Summer and Altruist! I started getting my…read morenails done by Alex and absolutely fell in love, her creativity and talent is through the roof!! I have never had my nails left at all whatsoever and the only time I've ever had a nail break is when I got into a huge altercation and they perfectly broke right at the Apex, which saved my nails from literally getting ripped out and I couldn't be more grateful for her! Then got connected to Meg for eyelashes, I get the wet set done by her, and I've never had such little to no fallout anywhere! They always look so flattering to my face and she also gave me a kit for them to keep them clean and beautiful. Then I was looking for extensions and applied for the mirror mirror extensions so they can make sure I was a good candidate and that my hair would work well with the extensions. That's when I met Kitty! She was there every step of the way to make sure that my hair was perfectly curated to me! They made sure that the extensions perfectly matched my hair, which is actually insane because my hair has a lot of natural highlights to it and it literally just looks like my natural hair! When I went to get my extensions, they paid for my parking and bought me whatever I wanted for lunch which was so nice. They had three people working on my hair the whole time I was there and made me feel like a princess. I got to sit and eat my food and enjoy my complementary mimosa and just feel on top of the world! They don't stop until it's perfect, kitty will never let you leave her chair until your hair is absolutely beautiful and exactly how you want it to be. I am so surprised that extensions can feel so much like my own hair, look like my hair and just be so comfortable. I don't even know that they are there. I can style it myself, and I got a whole entire little backpack with a bunch of huge sized samples and a whole list on how to take care of my extensions. I also can call and message anytime and they are so happy to help with any questions I have and it just feels like I'm part of a family there. Kitty runs the most amazing salon I have ever been to and since I am an exotic dancer, her, and her team have helped me make so much more money. I feel like they give you the best deals and pricing for the most exclusive, one of one experience. I never leave there, not feeling absolutely glamorous and perfect and just beautiful! Words really couldn't describe how amazing they are. Thank you so much Kitty and your whole team. You changed my life!

Was so happy to have this picked up and delivered at a gathering of her friends on her bday---July 7tb. Brook was only in town for 2more weeks after her bday because shes moving to WA for graduate School and ended leaving Missoula on the 29th. Couldn't get an appt for the mani/Pedi before she left. No refund even though they couldn't get her in before she moved. Said we could of course give the certificate to someone else to use---but that's not really the point. It was $130 and all her friend's there can't afford that. So apparently we are just out the money. Even though NO service was rendered. Seems very unprofessional and a bit unethical!

If you look closely, she also damaged her cuticles! My daughter kept asking for her to shape the nails and cut them to an active length, but she kept refusing saying she could not. When she walked in, she asked for them to be French tip with one accent nail for a wedding she will be attending! After the third hour, she told my daughter she was unable to put French tips on her nails. At the very end, of course wanted a tip on a $65 job! She took total advantage of a teenage girl! Now we need to pay to get them off and re-done! What a mess! I have truly seen nothing like it. Please do not go there!
