I thought about it for weeks too many. Then I met Lisa. She and I come from different walks of life, but she is genuinely one of the kindest, most caring individuals I've ever met. I didn't know what to expect when I walked in to her studio, but I quickly found out it would become my haven. For a first-timer like me, the idea of lash extensions was kind of overwhelming. So many different styles! Lengths! I had no idea what I wanted, and she was patient and walked me through the process every step of the way. We settled on a natural look with a little extra flair on the outside corners, and I couldn't have been happier. I can't believe what a difference they made! I've been back twice since my first visit and I can't say enough great things. I don't know that I'll ever go anywhere else. Lisa is just the best, both personally and in the work she does. My appointments with her have quickly become something I so look forward to. And if my review isn't enough to seal the deal for you, when I visited with my professional makeup artist friend shortly after getting my lashes done, his first comment to me was "YOUR LASHES!" When I told him they were extensions, he about fell out of his seat, swearing up and down he'd never seen them look so real. So yeah, she's pretty great. I received an important phone call that I was not expecting during the service and because of that I opened my eyes during the service. I messaged the business soon after the service and told them I was disappointed with the results and asked if there was anything we could do. The only thing I was told after a lengthy conversation is that I could come back in and pay for the materials and get it redone. I wasn't confident that the result would be any better and I would be disappointed if I paid even more and was still was not happy with the result. I asked the business to provide me with a partial refund as I took accountability for any wrongdoing I had, but never received it. I think my biggest issue is not the lack of result (I have pictures and there was very little to no result), but the communication with the business. They didn't seem to understand or comprehend what I was saying and just kept making excuses rather than saying, "Hey, I'm sorry you are unhappy with your results. The stylist felt rushed and wanted to let you get to the phone call because that seemed really important to you. Could we provide you with a partial voucher for a future service or a redo of the service? We want our clients to be pleased with their results and we stand behind our work." Their messages to me were confusing and had typos that made it hard to have a productive conversation. They didn't listen to understand. They just doubled down and focused on formulating their next defensive response. For example, at the beginning of the conversation I sent a picture of what my results were and what I had hoped they would look like. The picture was a screenshoot of video from another Pittsburgh Lash Artist. It was labeled as a korean lash lift. They pointed out that they 1) didn't offer a korean lash lift (true) 2) believed this picture had filters/false lashes on it. I acknowledged that could very well be true and they sent me a picture in return of what a realistic lash lift looked like. That picture looked great to me! I told them exactly that and said I wished my results looked like that. However, they ignored that and kept referencing the previous picture I sent & saying that they "didn't offer that service" (in text message and in the BBB complaint). I know that and I understood that the first time they told me. I was no longer paying attention or referencing the korean lash lift once they told me it was not realistic and that their lash lift was not that and subsequently did not produce the same results. At the end of the day, I would not recommend this business. If you are looking for a lash lift, I would look for someone who has pictures and proof of extensive experience in the lash lift and tint space and actively posts and shows their results. They truly don't come across as slightly professional or nuanced in professional communication. This could have been solved a long time ago if their response was different.
