So what happened was My stylist did a great job with my blowout, and I absolutely loved how my hair turned out. The reason I'm reaching out is because of the overall professionalism during my visit. Unfortunately, I noticed a strong body odor coming from my stylist. I don't mention this to be mean, but when working in such close proximity to clients, personal hygiene is an important part of the experience. I also noticed several employees were dressed very casually in baggy T-shirts and leggings, which made the salon feel less polished than I expected from the Drybar brand. I hope this feedback is taken constructively because the hairstyling itself was excellent. I would definitely return if the overall presentation better reflected the quality of the service.

Yep...it's time! Walking into the hair salon to get my hair relaxed was like preparing for hair warfare. I came prepared with my phone fully charged (in case I need to abort this hair mission), snacks in my handbag, and fully prepared to sit patiently as the process was activated. My stylist, Naana, took one look at my hair, nodded slowly, and said, "Ok...it's time. Exhale! I told Naana I needed a relaxer. She had previously sent me an emoticon stating, "maybe yes or maybe no." I need my kinks gone...quick, fast and in a hurry! At the point where she said yes, I wanted to do a happy dance. The base and then relaxer had been applied. The big guns were out pointed at my head. No burning...good sign. Then like magic my hair goes from super coily, i.e. kinky to relaxed and straight. Naana rinsed out the relaxer solution and applied conditioner. Then I was off to the dryer for a deep conditioner. Then conditioner was rinsed out, my hair dried and flat ironed. There is nothing like having your hair flat ironed. Sleek. Glossy. Wind ready. I walked out of the salon feeling brand new, like a super model. Ok...maybe not a super model...just a grocery store model. Smile. That confidence lasted two seconds until I walked into Texas humidity. The good news was that the kinks were gone. The bad news was that the curls were back, just not kinky this time. Look forward this process in 8 weeks...Naana is actually an amazing stylist and love get my hair done with her.

She recently gave me a trim with lots of added beautiful layers to my naturally curly hair & as always, she did an amazing job. Each time the hairstylist has been very friendly and attentive to each kid. We're still working out how we want our son's hair cut but that comes with the territory. I've never gone at a busy time but they've always gotten us swiftly taken care of. I recommend making an appointment online because calling isn't the most reliable. Thankfully they have plenty of lollipops for the kids because my kids go through at least two every visit. If you're hesitant because of the other reviews, make an appointment online and make up your own mind. I've not yet been disappointed.

What made matters worse is that they do not accept walk-ins, which would be fine if they were actually responsive. I called three separate times and not a single call was answered. No callback, no communication, nothing. Because I couldn't get through to anyone, I had no choice but to go there in person just to ask about appointment availability--only to be told they don't take walk-ins. The lack of basic customer service and communication is unacceptable. If you expect people to schedule ahead, the least you can do is answer your phone. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend unless you have a lot of time and patience to deal with the hassle.

Also, I understood that the salon was located downtown and how I would have to pay for parking because of it, however, I had even asked via text message if they recommended a place to park which they were helpful in sending a picture of one and with it showing their side door for me to enter on the weekend. However, when I got up to the salon, they had asked me for my license plate information to cover or waive the parking expense. Unfortunately, this information wasn't relayed to me in advance that they would be covering the parking expense and the parking lot states you have to pay when you park and when I told her I had already paid for it nobody told me anything even when I asked ahead where to park, Lili's response was "oh well next time." It would have been nice to save the $21.56 that I had spent for 2 hours of parking. Again, super appreciative that they even offer this it's just nice that if it is offered that the information is relayed so I could have appreciated/benefited from it as well.
