From the moment I called and made my appointment, I had a very good feeling. Lynn was so very polite and accommodating. Was able to book the appointment within days of calling. I had searched for pictures of what I was trying to achieve, ( she would have NO clue from looking at all the hair on my head) Upon entering the salon, I noticed all employees were wearing masks and gloves. She took my temperature too. I proceeded to show Lynn the pictures and running my hands through my hair explaining this and that. She asked if she could cut my hair it by spritzing it with water. It would help her get a better feel for my hair. The thickness, the volume, strength and health. Made sense to me....and I had just washed it a few hours before. Very professional and skilled. It was like magic Lynn cut and snipped, and snipped some more. Took out her hair clipper to get it nice and tight by my ear and around the back of my neck. In about 30 minutes it was shaping up looking more to my thoughts and wishes. I wear my hair shorter these days. Asymmetrical too... Located in this area, stores are known to be always closing by Hair By Lynn has been here for a while. I made my appointment by calling their phone on the Google page, it was a Friday at 1:45 PM and I asked if they had any at 2, they told me 2:30 would be great, and that I can be a bit late if I would like. I came at exactly 2:30 and they were able to take me in at my appointment time. I don't know the name of the person who cut my hair but she had purple and black hair. She walked me to the seat. She brushed my hair out and made sure it wasn't hurting or getting caught too much. Really cared for my comfort. She asked what I was looking for? Are you looking to cut a little bit? I said yes! as I am very attached to my long hair. She took some of the hair and asked if the amount was good, I confirmed. Later she recommended that we cut just a little bit more to get rid of the split ends. In addition she asked if I wanted any layers or shorter hair in the front. I got light/little layers and said yes I would like shorter hair in the front. She recommended it as it would look nice when my hair is tied up. She spent around ~15 minute for my trim and I absolutely love it!! There are no longer split ends and the hair looks cute when tied up! Cost was $27.00 for women's haircut on July 23, 2021 I love that she respected my wants of keeping my hair long and made sure my bad split ends were gone! ****DON'T GET A PERM HERE**** The lady completely destroyed my hair when I went in for a perm 2 years ago. She purposely made me pay and leave all while my hair was wet, so I didn't know my hair was fried up. On my way home, my hair dried up and it looked like Hagrid's hair from Harry Potter... I called and went back to show her the hair, and she said it was my fault for getting a perm on dyed hair. If that was the case she should've mentioned it beforehand not after frying my hair up. Then she offered to chop off my hair because it would look "better". I didn't want her to play with my hair again so I asked for a refund and she straighten up rejected and started to give me attitude. I absolutely loved my haircut by Jina! I had some pictures of short styles but was still a little unsure of what I wanted. Jina weighed the pros and cons with me and really made me feel like I was being heard. Because of that, I felt at ease discussing with her what I wanted and what I did not like. She was sweet and easy to talk to. When she saw that I had a cartilage piercing on my ear that hadn't fully healed, she was kind enough to ask if she should avoid hitting it, which I thought was really thoughtful. I have very straight, medium-thickness Asian hair and wanted to get a short, funky cut that ended around my chin. Jina spent about a full hour with me, including shampoo, cut, and style. She was very, very thorough with her cutting, often going back and making sure everything was perfect. She even used thinning scissors so that my hair could look more like the pictures. Then she styled it with a blow-dryer and round brush, used a flat iron for parts she wasn't satisfied with, and then polished everything off with some kind of conditioning cream around some of the ends. I was impressed that she gave me so much attention when the cut I wanted took much more time than I've usually experienced. Jina gave me excellent service and a great cut that I would expect from an expensive salon. But the total price was an incredible $27, including shampoo. I went to a much more expensive place at Tyson's (it's one of the most reviewed salons for that area, actually) and was completely disappointed by the rude staff and mediocre cut for over $50. I am never going back to that place again, and will keep coming back to Jina! read more

This place is great! My family and I have been getting our hair done here for like ten years and we love it. Unfortunately I saw a review here claiming that the hairdresser yelled at a customer and whatever but that person failed to include that she herself started it by yelling and making a huge deal at the shop and even had the audacity to post a picture of her "fried hair" (that seems to have been taken at home and not at the shop) after not taking good care of her hair knowing that getting a perm will cause some damage to it. I'm so upset to see the effect of such a post. The customer had the nerve to keep harassing the hairdresser demanding to ruin her business or whatever and then came back and told the hairdresser to do something and the hairdresser decided to give her a choice of taking her money back or receiving a treatment and apologized for the customer's feeling bad and yet the customer still gave her trouble.. I have been going to Hair by Lynn since early 2016, and I have always been very happy with their service. Lynn and her husband are both professional, polite, and honest. Lynn is very good at what she does and she never forces you into getting any service you don't need. I used to get digital perms at Hair by Lynn until I got pregnant. Thinking that perms may be harmful to my baby, I started to cut my hair short and have been maintaining a bob ever since. Whatever the style Lynn helped me get (long wavy permed hair, shorter wavy hair, straight (my natural hair) bob) I always get compliments on my hair. Another thing I want to mention is that when I asked her if I should get a perm during pregnancy or while nursing, Lynn actually told me I should wait until I am done nursing the baby to get a perm. She could have made over $150 with a digital perm, but she actually suggested that I just get a haircut ($25.00!) for the baby. I actually had another salon urging me to get a perm saying it does not affect the child. Setting the medical accuracy of the impact of the perm aside, this just shows she cares more about you than making money. So I will remain a loyal Hair by Lynn customer!!! read more

My hair cut was SPECTACULAR and my stylist didn't use any product and I loved her for it. I've left salons with an unbelievable amount of styling products in my hair as though I had an elaborate hairstyle done instead of a simple haircut. I have literally had to ask stylists to stop! I was also very appreciative of the time she spent to carefully shape and get my hair just the way I wanted it. However the overall customer service wasn't exactly stellar, long wait, no one came to talk to me when I came in, hair cut was constantly interrupted because my stylist had to answer the phone as well as cut my hair, etc. Sadly I didn't get my stylists name but if the rest of the staff is like her, your hair is in good hands. read more

I just went there and spent 5 hours to get a digital perm. Knowing that perms normally take a long time, I was ready for the wait. Hanna had done everything from consultation, to washing my hair, to coating my hair before the perm, to perming. She had multiple clients in between since I had a lot of sitting under heat for a while, she would always check up on me in between! Shes awesome and very friendly. She told me how to manage my hair without me asking, told me in 2 months that ill need a trim and another coating to help with the hair damage from the perm. I recommend this place! I was stuck on traffic on my way home one afternoon on rt. 29 and saw this new hair salon next to Smash Burger and decided to give it a try. Boy was that the most worth while risk I ever took. Every staff at the salon was very nice. Lynn carefully recommended a style to give myself a new look for the warm weather and compliments on my new style has been non stop. I went back to color my hair and decided to give mani/pedi a shot. Young's service with mani/pedi was superb. You feel like you just got a massage package along with your mani/pedi. WOW. I took my entire family back including my husband and the boys. This place now became our whole family salon. For the price, you cannot beat the excellent service and its convenient location.
