I told her and showed pictures of highlight I wanted to do, and my hair came out completeley different color than the pictures. Plus, usually when you dye your hair, they rinse and shampoo your hair really good but she only rinsed my hair like 3 seconds and I still felt there was something chemical in my hair. For a change, I wanted to go blonde. I have been dreaming and obsessing about it. So I scoured the internet, calling every salon in Monterey, Marina, Seaside, and Salinas. The responses from these other salons were discouraging to me. Though they're all nice and seemed accommodating at the beginning, they all ended up not responding after sending them my current hair picture. (I wasn't surprised, but leaving me on read, or after consultation they never called back was kind of... a waste of everybody's time. At least say no you can't do it). My expectations weren't high since even in Asia, they almost always say "No, what you want is impossible let's try a different color." I found Parvin on Yelp. Went to the salon in Seaside 20 minutes before closing. Showed her the picture that I wanted. She looked at it, looked at my hair, asked if it's naturally black and I said yes it is. I was already prepared she was going to say No. And she was like, "yeah I can do it. No problem." I was like, "Are you sure?" "Yes, I'm sure honey." Imagine the happiness and excitement I felt that day. To those considering going to Parvin for Hair extensions: -Show her your hairgoals picture/s -You need about 2 (non- consecutive) days available to get this done. A day for your hair color, a day for your hair extension installation. - She doesn't have the hair extension, you have to buy it yourself. It's up to you where you would want to buy it from,/but she would tell you what kind to get. She told me to get it from Olympia beauty supply because your girl wanted it done Asap. I could've bought online but I wasn't willing to wait. -She only accepts Cash. But if you have Zelle pay through your bank account (instant money transfer) I think she does that too. *not sure just ask her* -Her prices wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Very affordable compared to other salons around here. -She would work on your hair all by herself; no assistant, so it's only understandble that it gets messy in there. I went to Hair by the Bay in Seaside today and had my hair cut by Parvin. She is a very talented hair stylist, a delight to talk to but more importantly very skilled in cutting hair. I would highly recommend her to anyone but particularly to men like me looking for a solid haircut. The salon is a little humble but clean and the staff are friendly and very good at cutting hair. I'm a 62 year old man, have a job in which I must present myself to students, colleagues, and professional associations. The COVID restrictions, while very understandable to me, made taking care of my appearance challenging. Since buying a home in the area, I have been holding off switching from an expensive salon in another area. I am very happy that I found Hair by the Bay on Fremont in Seaside and in particular that I was able to get my hair cut by Parvin, whom I highly recommend. Well, the only good thing about this place is the price, it is cheap. The hairdresser was super nice and everything. Unfortunately, they do not seem to understand what the word 'short' means. I wear a very short haircut. So I walked in, showed the photos of what I wanted, asked if they could do it. The result was awful - very far from what I wanted, the hair remained much longer than I wanted, the left side and the right side of the head were uneven, the right temple was 1/2 inch longer than the left temple, so i had to fix it myself.
