Dee at this salon did not want to do a root touchup on my hair!! She said i would not be happy with how it turned out. I truly believe its because my appt was at 6pm and she didn't want to take the 90 min to do it. I made the 6pm appt through the app. She called before the appt and asked if i could come in an hour earlier. I said i could come in 30 min earlier but not an hour earlier. I've had root touchups done at other Hair Cuttery's in the area with no problem. This was unbelievable how they treat their customers. Beware of this salon in Annapolis!! read more

I went and wanted a simple trim to take care of my dry ends. I specifically asked for an inch to be cut, but it is very obvious that more than that was cut. Also, one side of my hair is longer than the other and the cutting on the other side is really choppy. The stylist did not check the length of each section to each other to ensure it was even at all during the service. The best part is that I paid $62 for this awful haircut when the website I booked my appointment through quoted me $49 for a basic cut, shampoo, and blowout service. read more

I recently visited Hair Cuttery in Annapolis for a color and highlights service. Before the appointment began, I clearly explained to Amy, the stylist who assisted me, that I did not want my hair to look blonde. Unfortunately, the final result was much blonder than I had requested. At the end of the appointment, I expressed my concern and explained that the color was not what I had asked for. I then made several attempts to contact the salon over the following days to have the color adjusted. However, it took six days before I was finally able to speak with Amy directly. When I explained the situation and requested a correction, I was informed that I would need to pay an additional $75 to tone down the highlights. Given that the color did not match the instructions I provided during my original appointment, I felt this was unfair and disappointing. As a customer, I expected the salon to stand behind its work and make a reasonable effort to correct a result that did not reflect my clearly stated preferences. Unfortunately, my experience left me dissatisfied with both the service and the customer support I received afterward. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this salon. read more

I got a scissor cut from Jesse ... what a nice young man! This was my second service with him. However, I noticed once I got home and checked my email - Hair Cuttery had sent me an offer for $10 off products in the store for today only. It was sent at 4:33pm for a 5:00pm appt and I was already on my way to the store. They probably shouldn't bother sending an offer to an email address without enough time for the customer to see it and use it ... It's not really a good look. I have never leaved a review before but I felt like I had to this time.. I have been getting my eyebrows waxed at this location for the past 1.5 years. I have never had an issue the wax irritating my skin. I had someone new and I am unsure of her name but I am 99.5 percent sure that she did not wash her hands. I completely broke out all along my eyebrows and it's embarrassing.. she was also on the phone the entire time which was rude. read more

I had a shampoo and blowout today with Hanna. I booked the appointment online for a Classic Blowout $33.00. I had been to Hanna twice before and that was the charge. When I checked out today the charge was $46.00. When I questioned the charge she said it was because of the length of my hair. My hair is shoulder length, the same as the other times. She then said it was for a "Deluxe" blowout, which I did not make an appointment for. It was the same blowout that I got the other times. To the owner of this location, changing the charge after the service should not be allowed. read more

Carrie is a great stylist. We first found her when our son was in kindergarten. It is so hard to find a good stylist for children and Carrie was fantastic with him. So patient and such a good listener. Our entire family has been getting our hair styled from her for almost 20 years. Carrie is now at this Hair Cuttery next to Trader Joe's. Jess is amazing ! She's friendly, down to earth, and always listens. She's spot on with color and is always attentive to the front desk. Hanna was great, so the lack of 5 stars is not on her part. Anna however, I have a bone to pick with you honey. I booked with Anna because my sister had went to her previously and recommended her which is why I booked through the site ( you can choose which stylist you would like to book with). She had 3 times left for today so I chose 3:30. She had called me around 2:30 saying I could come in earlier but I said I would keep my original time, she said that was perfectly fine. I get to the place 10 mins late (I called and they said I could still come) and apparently Anna had left way before I got there. No notice was given. I booked with you for a reason Anna and I was disappointed to find out that there's no integrity regarding keeping your appointment times. Although, Hanna was very sweet I don't think I'll be returning. Any woman (or man) knows how difficult it can be to find a stylist they trust to do their hair, I was coming in off of a recommendation and to be passed off to another like I didn't choose you specifically was very disappointing. Also, for future reference Miss Anna, if you would have let me know you needed to leave early, I would've just booked you for a different day. The professionalism was nonexistent. read more

After two bad experiences, I'm not returning. I was two minutes late for my appointment (exactly 2, I checked) and it was given away, but I was told I could wait for a slot and it would be 10 minutes or so. I left at the 40 minute mark. Today, I was told it would be "just a few minutes" and again waited nearly 40 minutes. My time is worth more than this, and yours is too. I suggest booking at a better run salon. Also I did not enjoy the judgmental comments about the number of kids I had at my age and the length of my marriage. I have a very average number of kids at my age but even if I didn't, why is this my stylist's business? Also the haircut is horrendous read more

My 11 year old daughter has been so excited to get her hair shampooed, cut, and styled all summer. It's the night before school pictures, and we had an appointment here at 5:45pm. We showed up to the salon at 5:40pm and were essentially ignored for the first 15 minutes. Finally one of the stylists acknowledged me and said "she'll be right with you". Another 15 minutes pass, and a second stylist comes to the front and asks if we've been helped. I tell her we had an appointment at 5:45 (it's now 6:15). The first lady who spoke to us came rushing over and began speaking in hushed tones to the second woman. We did hear "mistake" very clearly. They never said a word to us in explanation. They both walked away. At 6:25 I finally asked the first woman if we should just leave, as they had taken TWO walk-ins ahead of us. And we had an APPOINTMENT. She looked me up and down, and in a snide voice said "she's almost done". My daughter was almost in tears by this point, believing she wasn't going to have her haircut for picture day. I stayed only because I wanted her to have the haircut. Any other circumstance we would've left and not looked back. Finally 41 minutes after our appointment time had passed my daughter was taken back. No apology. No explanation about what went wrong. Just "how much do you want off and follow me". And that was what was upsetting; I totally understand that mix ups happen, especially in a semi-busy salon. What is unacceptable is being ignored and not a single employee actually taking the time to apologize and explain what went wrong. No offer of any kind to attempt to make things right. I guess you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, we will not be back. It was a good lesson in patience and going high when others go low for our daughter. read more
