She truly cares about her clients and makes sure they are properly taken care of, either by her or her staff. I get my Aveda hair and skin products here and when the Mint does not have an item in stock, they order it for you and contact you when the product(s) come in. This was the reason I visited the store today. Vanessa also informed me that Aveda is changing its skin care product line, and she should know the results in December. She said she would inform me of any changes and if any of my favorites were being discontinued, she would let me know so I could "stock up". Now that is great customer service! Also, I noticed the sign at the front counter stating "American Express was no longer accepted" was missing. (During my last visit three weeks ago, the receptionist confirmed this per the sign.) I asked Vanessa about this, and she stated she is accepting AmEx again as she discovered this was the primary credit card for so many of her customers. Now, that's listening and responding to your clientele! Vanessa was working the receptionist station today as she is looking for a someone that is mature and has some professional experience as a receptionist or a salon team member to take over this position. They have several stylists to choose from based on your needs and they have a wide range of pricing. Our stylist, for a long hair cut, blow dry, style and curling was $150 before tip. I booked an appointment at the beginning of the week for a curly cut. When I arrived to the salon (again, DAYS after booking the appt), I was asked to wait to meet my stylist. I was brought back to her chair where she asked me to describe what I'd like. She proceeded to say that she did not feel comfortable cutting my hair type. While I am grateful that she did not jump in while unsure, I did find it pretty upsetting that the stylist and the salon chose to handle this embarrassing situation in front of other clients rather than calling me beforehand or even speaking with me at the front of the salon. Likewise, I have a difficult time understanding the purpose of submitting pictures in advance (which the stylist stated she saw), but then waiting until after I have driven to the salon to discuss. J. Bauman was actually in the salon while this was happening and offered no reassurance or alternative. He sat on his phone in the front of the salon while the stylist told me how "awkward" the situation was. The best that they could provide was asking me to come in a different day (mind you this haircut was for my graduation the next day.) If you have textured, curly hair, I'd be extremely wary of booking with the curly cut stylist and this salon in general. I found that EDUCE down the road was a similar price point with a much more understanding and qualified staff.

I was referred to Ashley by a coworker and am relatively new in town and don't have a permanent stylist. She has great photos and I was immediately drawn to her ability. The first consultation I had, i didn't go through with the appointment that the consultation was for. I thought it to be very expensive ( I was trying to go platinum blonde) and decided to maybe come back another time. In the next few months, I had tried other stylists and wasn't truly happy, so I went back to Ashley and decided to give it a try. I got a quote from her for $140. She said she may have to do a mask for an additional $30 at which I explained that I had a few masks I had at home and was using, sent her the names of it, and she told me those were good and we left it at that. On the day of the appointment I was running 5-10 min late. I texted her to let her know and she offered me coffee which was super sweet and I loved the gesture. This was my girl, I had finally found her! She explained to me that her daughter was with her and that her mom couldn't watch the little girl that morning and that she's really good. I have a three year old myself and will commend mothers working and trying to make ends meet. I believe that as long as the child is well behaved then you know, it should be alright. The experience itself was a little different than what was expected. The work was quick and I could tell Ashley had a lot of experience. I was excited to see the outcome and found myself very relaxed. As time went on, her daughter became more and more restless (as to be expected, she is around three years old). What began as a small question here and a small request there became Ashley leaving my hair in the middle of coloring it to take her daughter to the bathroom, and the little girl to crawl under the chair I was sitting in (which was a swivel chair and I was scared I was going to hit her on accident when turning) and hanging off of the chair I was in. She would grab multiple objects and became more and more active as time went on. I don't think it was appropriate to have her in that environment if it affects the service provided. It was uncomfortable. After finishing my hair, Ashley charged me $200. I reminded her about the estimated price she gave me and she said that she ended up doing the mask for me. She never told me during the process that she was doing that mask. 1- Her child running around. 2- Incurred extra charges. 3- Splotch on hair (the reason I'm posting this) After 1 week, I parted my hair in a different place. I noticed a spot on my hair, as if some color just fell on there. I tried to call her and let her know. I was told that I would have to pay for a whole new treatment because a week has gone by and I didn't say anything right away. I couldn't possibly spot something like that right away, and was so disappointed with the whole process. I will never go back, and hope you found this insightful.

I paid over $400 for a balayage and haircut after a consultation where we agreed on a beige balayage and a trim with long layers. Instead, I left with hair that was orange, uneven in tone, and much shorter than expected. I specifically requested a trim and to maintain length with a U-shape. Not only did I lose significantly more length than expected, but when I returned for the correction appointment, my hair had to be recut because it was uneven. $125 for a haircut keep in mind. The color was never what we agreed on. I was left with obvious warm/orange pieces and was told we would need to lighten my hair again to get closer to the beige result that was discussed from the beginning. Even after the second lightening service, the result was still not what I asked for. I now have significant breakage in my bangs and front pieces that did not exist before this service. I had intentionally spent a long time growing my hair out and avoiding additional bleach, and now I'm dealing with damage that will take a long time to grow out. Months, even up to 12months! After I reached out with concerns and provided multiple photos, I received a voicemail indicating she was willing reimburse me. However, when I followed up, no refund was provided. Instead, I felt like my concerns were dismissed. At one point Patricia even suggested that my photos were not true. I ultimately had to seek a color correction elsewhere at additional cost and am now hundreds of dollars deeper into fixing a situation that should never have happened in the first place. The color correction alone was $275. Between the original service, corrective work, and the damage to my hair, this has been one of the most disappointing salon experiences I've ever had.
