Vanessa took her time to ensure that she was giving me what I wanted. The salon is spacious and has lots of stylists on staff. I also like their app for online scheduling. Every time I go to the salon there is a problem with the air conditioner or the hot water isn't working. I absolutely love my stylist Sarah Gonzalez, she is the most incredible and talented hairstylist that I've ever met and that is the only reason I continue to go to the salon. You spend a lot of money to have your hair done to look good and wanting to leave the salon looking and feeling good but when you are sopping, wet and sweat from the air conditioning, not working, it's not quite the experience you want to have. However, like I said, the only reason I continue to suffer with the poor conditions is due to the fact that my hairstylist is phenomenal! read more

Saturday 2/3/2024 was my first visit to a true salon ever in my life. Needless to say.... I was nervous and a bit overwhelmed. I booked my appointment online, which was pretty simple once I knew what I was going in for. Now upon arrival, I immediately enjoyed the vibe of the location. Plus it was very clean. This was a very good first impression. For my appointment, I was paired up with Lauren Blow, one of their senior stylists. She listened to my concerns and reservations and then from there she offered her professional opinion when I explained the style I wanted. It was so nice to feel heard and I appreciate the welcoming service. Like I mentioned, I had never been to a salon, so I wasn't even sure what to expect to pay. This is a nice little salon in downtown Winter Garden. Booked a special that Jennifer ran in September--cut, partial foil and deep conditioning for $100. Now that's a deal! She did a great job and really brightened up my existing color and gave me a nice trim. As an added bonus, the salon was pretty quiet that day, and I was one of only a handful of clients. It made for a lovely, relaxing experience. I also appreciated that Jennifer gave me her card with her number on it and let me know to contact her personally if I needed anything touched up or fixed. I didn't need to use it, but I liked having that knowledge that she's willing to do that for her clients. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because there was a scheduling mix-up that resulted in my having to drive to and from the salon twice in a day. In the future I might call to double check my appointment and verify I'm still "on the books." Their prices are great, especially in comparison with other salons in the area. read more

I recently had my hair cut elsewhere and the stylist did not listen to me and gave me an undercut bob. I NEVER wear my hair under. I had told her that before she started cutting (I'm more of a fun flippy kind of girl.) She also razored my hair which made it look frizzy if I tried to style it any way but under. The cut was cute, it just didn't feel like me and instead I felt old and un-hip. After trying to work with it for a over a week I started to panic a little because I was going to be in a wedding that upcoming weekend and would be in a lot of the photos. So I began my web search hoping to find someone that could "fix" my hair. I must have looked at 20+ websites until I found Southern Obsession Salon. They had numerous stylists with great reviews and conveniently (because it was late at night) an online booking feature. I chose Erica Oehler and picked the first opening she had available which was Thursday at 9am. Let me tell you, I was scared! I almost talked myself out of going. What if it turned out worse? What if she cut off too much hair? I'd be, well, I'd be super depressed! No one wants to be forever on display in their friend's home on mantel or wall with a haircut that doesn't represent them. So, I went and met Erica and she was awesome! She listened and looked at the pictures I showed her from Pinterest and then transformed me from frumpy back to the feisty hip mom that I am :) I didn't realize how truly fantastic the cut was until Friday night. Since I'd just had my hair cut the day before, I hadn't had much time to play with it. I took a late shower Friday and just wanted to dry my hair and go to bed so I didn't use product or even a brush. Just flipped my head upside down and blew it dry. When I raised my head up, it fell into a beautiful flippy style (sexy flippy not manic flippy) - confirmed by my hubby's "wow" ;) Since then, I've had time to appreciate how versatile it is and have had lots of compliments on the style and so Erica has been getting lots of referrals from me! While I was at Southern Obsession, I appreciated what a gorgeous place it is visually (coolest blow dryers I have ever seen) and everyone I met was very nice. The other women getting their hair done while I was there all left looking beautiful. I'm excited to have found a salon that has so many talented stylists. I've also heard that their facials are fantastic - so that will be my next review. Southern Obsession is a fine group of southern gals who have the uncanny ability to make you feel at ease and at home even on your wedding day. Even after doing a phenomenal hair and make-up job for my Bride and her ladies, they kept everyone comfortable and entertained for two hours. Considering one of these was the flower girl and one was our 6 year old daughter, this could not have been an easy task. They lent them a room in the salon to get dressed for the wedding. I was lucky enough to find Southern Obsession Salon when I moved back to Florida from North Carolina. However, I feel that God had a hand in me finding Sarah as my stylist. Let's just say I've been through the ringer with stylists in the past and have had every disaster you can imagine. It has been my experience that's it's very difficult to find someone who is great at color. Not only is Sarah AMAZING at color and anything to do with hair in general, but she is an amazing girl in every way. This girl ended up being my FRIEND in about two seconds...even though my kids are older, lol. I tell her my life and feel so close to her. Her heart is huge. I would highly recommend Sarah to ANYONE. I happened to read a negative review on here about Sarah and honestly, I ask you to not believe that. I find that incredibly hard to believe after coming here for over a year. I keep coming back for a reason. She's the best. In fact, we're moving an hour and a half away, and I'm driving back just for Sarah. I came in for a color correction with Aubrey. My ombré was so brassy and blunt from a place I had gone before; I was desperate for a lightening and Aubrey was SO sweet about helping me get what I asked for. She gave me a set price, which saved me a lot (I have a lot of hair), especially since we ended up needing to re-bleach twice. I felt so bad because it took forever (8+ hours between two visits), but Aubrey didn't stop until we got it exactly how I wanted. Thank you so much!
