I want to try out this place for the first time today and I will definitely not be going back again. I got paid $36 for a haircut and shampoo and definitely did not get any shampoo that I was aware of. I asked for a quarter of an inch of my hair to be taken off all around to make things easy and after the first cut, it was nearly an inch and I knew I was screwed from then. I felt like asking for a little quarter inch all around was pretty easy, but I guess that's not the case with most places somehow I've been to Supercuts in Walmart and both of them have completely understood what I was asking for but not this place. Also the lady cutting my hair, definitely needs a new set of clippers since when she was trimming up the back of my neck, she actually cut it and didn't say anything, and I noticed when I got home. And to top it all off I don't understand the point of wearing the cape on getting your haircut because when I got up, my shoes were covered in hair which I've never had happened before. read more

I went here for a haircut and was pleased with the result. Yes the prices are a bit high but even the stylists complain about it. My stylist was Maria and she is a doll. The haircut came out even and she was quick to sweep up the hair on the floor. She will talk your ear off though, so introverts beware haha. I've been going to salon for years, the stylist I've been going to left to a different salon, I didn't know till I walked in. Sometimes you have to blame yourself for not reacting to the warning signs. I should have gone elsewhere when I saw the messy work station of the hair cutter assigned to me. The accumulation of hair on her equipment was also a red flag. The results were terrible. I take a very short cut but she took it nearly to the skin in places with two bald spots as well. In trimming my mustache she hit me with clippers hard enough to hurt. I advise all to avoid this place. Unless you have a stylist you know and trust. I give the manager credit for admitting the work was substandard and waiving all charges but it was no comfort to me as I live with this disaster for the next few weeks. read more

Recently found out my Master Stylist, Justina moved to Flourtown. She is the bomb...excellent talented stylist who knows her craft..making people look amazing. She LISTENS to your own views of how you'd like YOUR hair to look ....and then she follows with your wishes..not forcing her own vision -which so many stylist can mistakenly do. I got a big chop here months ago and it wasn't until I got home that I realized how uneven and choppy it was. My sister went to get a trim and bangs recently and she didn't get what she asked for. We had to come home and cut her bangs ourselves. Furthermore, the stylist talked her ear off and didn't mention the added price of curling the ends of her hair until she got to the register...so unprofessional. Seems like the people who work here have the most basic training. 2 strikes is enough for me. Next time I need an ACTUAL hair stylist I'll go to an actual salon. read more

I haven't been to this place in over a decade. I got there, was in a chair within 5 minutes and my trim was done ten minutes later. The cost is very reasonable, and the process is super smooth. Very rude young girls run this place. Haircut was bad. The girl that cut my hair argued with me when I told her that the haircut didn't come out very well. She used dull sizzors to cut my hair. She also washed my hair, didn't dry it, and tried to use clippers that were also dull. Not a great idea to use clippers on wet hair. I can be a challenging client at times but she did not let that affect her ability to deliver exactly what I wanted with my hair. My highlights looked natural and my hair felt silky smooth. Fairly inexpensive blowout here (I think it was $20 or so?) The girl who worked on my hair did a bang up job straightening out my natural waves. I am so disappointed. Not in the haircut, but in the customer service. I just spent an extra $25 on having my 5 year old's hair blown straight. Why the hell would I need that? When she said do I want it blow dried I assumed she meant a regular blow dry - $23 including the cut and style. So not kid friendly and they weren't the slightest bit apologetic or owning the error. Signed in and asked how long it would be with 3 girls in front of me. I was told 20 mins. I told the girl at the desk I was looking to have highlights and asked a couple pricing questions. She apologized for not being able to answer my questions but assured me my stylist would be able to answer my questions. This place is pretty good. I rarely have to wait long/if at all to get a haircut. That said, I avoid busy times. Price is moderately high for a man, but I'm new in town and don't know many other options that are on the cheap side. Pricing scheme is opaque. Sometimes they offer to wash my hair and other times do not. I'm usually not wanting to spend much time getting hair cut though and they do a quick job. One gripe...and this goes for all franchies (not just Hair cuttery). I absolutely hate the privacy invasion of asking for a phone #. I find it very off putting. I don't like giving out my # and this particular location can never pull my name/profile up with my phone number anyhow. Regardless, it's friggin annoying giving out your # in public....I'd think women would be even more concerned if some guy was sitting around jotting down cute girls phone #s. This place is very hit or miss. In the last several months I've had a couple of haircuts and they have been awful. The girls are bored and or have no talent or are too preoccupied with tonight's date or latest personal crisis to worry about anything. Very disappointed. Today's haircut was a particular mess as I only wanted a trim and got a scalping. I particularly did not want cutouts over the ears and I believe she did this to me despite my ask. I think she was very vindictive, an angry heavyset blonde girl in her 30s. I doubt I will ever return. read more

I've been to this Hair Cuttery a couple times and each time the service has gotten steadily worst. The staff is rude and I've had to ask friends to fix my hair after one particular person cut it. The most recent time I went only one person was working while three others were in the back having a loud conversation essentially ignoring the 4 customers waiting. She is very knowledgeable and gives you a good education on the highlighting/bleaching process and why she uses the techniques she does to save the integrity of your hair. Jackie and Elaine were wonderful stylist but the store is run completely unethically and unprofessionally by Cass. Pricing is misrepresented and falsely advertised. A shampoo and blow dry was priced for at least 8 times as $17.00 which is what is posted in the store, then I was told that it was $27.00. When I questioned the change the manager flew off the handle publicly, swearing and yelling. The other clients waiting were shocked and at least two walked out with me. Would give it zero stars if I could. Worst hair cut of my life. I made an appointment because I heard great things about a stylish and wanted to make sure I had her cut my hair. I will say she was nice, but she didn't care. She told me she had another appointment which was made as I was in the chair and told him to come right away. I thought nothing of it until he showed up right away. All she cared about what talking to him, not giving my hair any love. She told me she couldn't dry my hair because her next appointment was there. Mind you I had an appointment and asked for my hair to be dried. She maybe spent 15 minutes on my hair 7 of which were washing it. I went home with the wet hair because by this point I was annoyed and just wanted out of there. But, the more I thought about it she could had another stylist dry my hair if she wanted to get to her next appointment. Guess it would have been too much to ask them to stop playing on their phones or to put their books down. Management should not allow that. When I got home I dried my hair and let me tell you what a bad job it was. It was so uneven. I mean so uneven to the point my husband came home and asked if my 2 year old daughter cut my hair. That's how bad my hair is. I am going to have to cut a good 2-3 inches off to make it look normal again. So upsetting. DO NOT GO TO THIS HAIR CUTTERY.
