I gave it 2 stars because a 1 star would not be fair. Shelby cut my hair. The site states the hairdressers are stylists. They are not! She cut my hair so short I am unable to put a flat iron or curling iron to the sides and the lower back of my head. I mentioned to her before she started cutting, not extremely short. Each side of my head was different. I hardly have any hair left on the sides of my head. The left side is worse. Thankfully, I am a former hairdresser and can maybe fix this to some degree. The shop never offered me the 20% discount they offered. I did not even think about that at the time of paying my bill because I was so upset that they do not even style the hair after they cut the person's hair. Just horrible! I guess if you're not accustomed to the normal procedures of what is common - place for going to a beauty shop for a haircut and blow dry then the hairdresser takes advantage and does less work for the same price? I would never recommend this place to have your hair done besides not having upscaled hairdressers with knowledge of good styling. I might add the parking is also horrendous as well. In fact it's rather dangerous walking on uneven pavements in that area. read more

I deleted my previous review in order to leave a new one. While I did have some issues, the owner kindly reached out to me directly -- which is more effort than most businesses will ever bother to do. That alone says a lot. Outside of that, the salon itself is great. The stylists do excellent work, the vibe is welcoming, and you can tell they're proud of their craft. The owner is clearly proud of his salon as well, which came through in our conversation. I have been going through the difficult process of transitioning to grey hair. After a few months without having any color applied, my highlights became very brassy! I needed some help with the line between the grey and the brassy blond. Erica recommended ash highlights from the demarcation line down. The result was fantastic. I love it. Came here for highlights. Spent over $200 after tip for a young hair stylist to do my hair. She was under 25 years old still in school. Was charged for full highlights even though I only got partials. Didn't like that I had to pay a deposit on Venmo before coming in. I did like how the girls tried to stay busy when there were no customers. read more

I called to see if I can get someone to look at my hair that was cut at a different salon to see if it was even and to see if anything could be done with the ends and they told me that I can come in for a consult, but they can't do anything and I would have to schedule a haircut at a different time that you can't same time. read more

I've gotten my hair cut five or six times here and they've done a great job every time. Very nice folks and a very nice shop.

Five minutes from my home, ample parking, and varied hours by the stylist, made everything really easy for me to try. Ever since I started, I have been going to Carlye. She is absolutely wonderful. She remembers information about her clients, is really easy to talk to, and is able to pick up when sometimes I might need a few minutes of silence. She listens to what I am thinking of doing my hair and takes into account my long-term plan (I want to donate it Within the year). My favorite part is that every stylist has different hours so if one stylist hours do not match your needs, there are so many more stylists that you can meet with, and nobody has any bad feelings, if you do see another stylist at the salon. Please note that cash or Venmo is the accepted form of payment. They do not accept credit cards. Also, they have a coffee bar which I absolutely love because I tend to always come to my appointments early so it gives me something to do while I wait. Not to mention the inside is absolutely beautiful and all of the hair washers are phenomenal. read more

I am so glad I found this salon. I've never gotten my hair professionally cut or styled before so I was nervous when going in. But as I walked in, i was greeted right away. The staff were sooo nice and welcoming. I had Ashley cut my hair. She did an AMAZING job; she also made sure i was happy with my cut and was willing to fix anything I didn't like. Tessa is amazing and all staff at David Arnold are amazing. I have been coming to to the salon for 4 years or so. I've always left appointments with a confidence boost. The salon is very clean, especially with COVID precautions, the staff acts professional, the assistants who wash my hair always ask if the temperature is ok, and if I am comfortable. Tessa always listens to my requests and gives her thoughts on what would look good with my face shape and skin tone. She always looks at my inspiration photos and makes sure she knows exactly what I want before cutting or coloring. I was feeling a little bored and underwhelmed (especially considering the price they charged) with my previous salon, so I decided to try David Arnold after searching Yelp and finding great reviews. I called for an appointment and, having never been before, was randomly matched with a stylist that worked in the my timeframe. The receptionist, Anne, was very kind and very informative on the phone. I feel like getting your hair done Is such an awkward thing. Essentially a stranger (at least your first time with them) plays with your hair for an hour+ and then have to make small talk. It's honestly not something I enjoy anymore, even though I enjoy having great hair and getting in some *~*me time*~*. But I was so pleasantly surprised by David Arnold. Anne was also friendly in person. She washed my hair and welcomed me. My stylist was Erica and she was super kind and friendly. It wasn't awkward at all - it was like getting my hair cut by a friend. She knows what she's doing and confidently took control of my hair. I left with a cut I really like. I set up my next appointment with Erica before I left and Anne gave me a little newbie gift bag that had a $10 gift card for next time, a pen, and their service list. A sweet touch! This is the best hair salon I have ever been to. I go to the same stylist and she is amazing! Ask for Erica, she is the best stylist. They have a coat closet, and a coffee station. They also ask if you would like anything to drink, which enhances the experience. They are always willing to accommodate you if you are in a rush. As a business owner myself, I know that reviews are the bread-and-butter of all businesses. In this case, I knew that I had to leave a review. I decided last night that I wanted to color my hair. The last time I went to a salon about a couple years ago, I had a really horrible experience but this was a wonderful experience! My stylist: Margaret is so sweet and wonderful and she listened to all my worries. My hair looks amazing!!! I was so very happy with the work and effort she put into dying my hair the way I wanted but still making sure that it was not damaged in the process. This in itself matters the most to me because my hair is thin and fine, and any type of coloring typically damages my hair. The damage is noticeable right after the coloring but my hair feels SOOOO GOOOD right now! If I had the time, I would've gotten a cut and blow dry but hopefully next time! Customer service: Anne and every person who I came into contact with was so sweet. I love that I received a first time visitor gift as well. It was really thoughtful. Overall.... highly recommend!!! I hadn't gotten my hair cut in over 6 months when I decided to book at David Arnold Salon. I've been on their email list since I got a blowout there a couple years ago, so I had been kept up-to-date on the reopening plans, etc. As silly as it sounds, I really appreciated the sincerity of those emails and the value the owners place on their clients and community, and ultimately, those emails are what made me decide to book at David Arnold Salon when it came time for my cut. The salon was eat-off-the-floor clean. Not a spec of dust or clump of cut hair in sight. Also, you might think after being closed for so many weeks the salon would pack customers in to make up for lost business, but they're not. They're spacing out appointments so there are only a few clients in the salon at a time. I'm grateful for their conscientiousness. I met with Erica for my cut. She was warm and funny and-- honestly-- just plain cool. She obviously has a demonstrable understanding of hair texture and navigating client expectations because, upon showing her some pictures of the kind of cut I wanted, she asked a few questions and made some suggestions so I could get the style that works best for my hair texture. I found David Arnold's hair salon and was ecstatic to hear they had an opening! My stylist was Tessa and she was perfectly awesome. She made my first time (at a new salon) great-- she listened to what I had to say and wanted but, at the same time, I was open to her suggestions as well. She made my brassy and overgrown balayage (which looked ombré by the time I had this appointment) into a highlighted ashy blonde goodness! I also love my haircut and style! Just got a hair cut from Margaret. She did this amazing thing- she LISTENED. I was asking for a cut that was a little unusual. She scrolled through my pinterest page and picked out the versions that I liked best too- and then she went to work sculpting my overgrown curly mess into a cool shag. The staff is so friendly here and it was so easy to make an appointment (where as GC eliminated the online booking option). But the prices weren't posted anywhere for David Arnold. Came in for a quick trim, and liked the chirpy and buzzing atmosphere of the salon. Everyone was really friendly and chatty, and I felt comfortable at once. It's not as snazzy as the salons that I am used to getting my hair cut at, and pretty small, but it seems that they are willing to please and will go out of their way to make you happy. I was offered something to drink (minutes before I was lying horizontal getting my hair washed, haha) and also my hairdresser Mia offered me to come back without charge if I was unhappy with the cut at all. Very nice gesture. If you are a first time customer, visit the website and get 20% off your cut with Mia or someone else. The cut was $35 without the 20%, so that is the general pricing. I was in Jenkintown visiting family, so I called and made an appointment to come in the next day since I was overdue for a haircut. This place is bright, clean, and relaxed. They were ready for me when I came in, took my coat, and offered me tea/coffee/whatever. The woman who cut my hair was really great and friendly. She did exactly what I asked - a trim and fixing up my curly layers - and then gave me a FABULOUS blow out. Also, it was about $60 for the haircut and blow out, which isn't bad at all! I had my hair cut by Ashley! I went in to get 8 inches cut off to donate. I was worried about covid precautions and having a hairstylist who didn't listen to what I wanted. I am very happy with my whole experience. The salon was limited to a few people, everyone had masks on correctly, and the door was open for fresh air. I also loved Ashley and how she cut my hair. I talked to her about how I wear my hair, length, and layers. She took time to go over everything I wanted, and was very caring. She made some suggestions about my haircut; I took her up on most, but when I said no to face framing layers she completely respected that. When the day came I have to admit I was a little anxious but the salon had sent out many email updates about the procedures in place to protect everyone from Covid so I was confident that everything would be fine. When I got to the salon I couldn't have been more pleased. Everyone was wearing a mask and wiping everything down, there was hand sanitizer and even chairs and a table set up outside for waiting customers.
