Upon entry to the Hair Cuttery in Lusby I was immediately greeted and escorted to a chair (I did make an appointment). My hair stylist Sirena was friendly, she listened to what I wanted and made suggestions. I highly recommend her and the salon. read more

I normally prefer to do a good amount of research before getting my hair done, but I was desperate and needed a change so I went to the Hair Cuttery in Lusby Center. I was immediately greeted by kind staff and waited a mere 10 minutes as a walk-in. My stylist was Mandy and she was very knowledgable as far as hair coloring as it works with different hair textures. She guided me through choosing my color combination carefully and ensured that I was happy with the selection before we started. I have any of the other salons in the area and this was by far one of the cleanest and friendliest. The music wasn't too loud or obnoxious (which is a big deal when you are in there for 2 hours). The equipment is all modern and the staff is friendly. Mandy did a fantastic job and I will continue to go back to her. read more

As I put in the directions on my phone, I noticed the 2 star average of this Hair Cuttery. I had been here once before and remembered having a good experience, so I kept thinking: why does it have 2 stars? I went in and was greeted by a friendly hairstylist (unfortunately I didn't catch her name) and then sat and waited for about thirty seconds before I was taken to my seat (yes I did make an appointment, but I was early and they took me as soon as they possibly could). Heather greeted me with a smile, remembered my name, my last haircut, asked me about my girlfriend and how college was going and we chatted non stop. Keep in mind, I had met her once before. Once. She was friendly and lovely and cut my hair even better than the time before. She was willing to follow my tedious requests and was honest when I asked for input. She wanted me to leave happy, and I did. So maybe this Hair Cuttery does have some bad reviews, but remember: there are only 4 other reviews (as of now). I am sure plenty of others have been thrilled by the kindness of their hair stylists and the quality of their haircuts. This is a great place to get a hair cut and I highly recommend it (especially Heather, she's the best). The current 2 star average does not reflect the quality of this salon at all! Lastly, do yourself a favor and just make an appointment. It's an easy process online and then you don't have to wait for a long time. It makes the experience even more enjoyable when you don't have to wait. read more

Katrina is awesome - very precise and careful, and good with the details that make a cut go from decent to awesome. Also very good at waxing brows. She also listens really well and asks the right questions to help me figure out what I want. The salon in general is clean and well-run, and everyone is friendly. read more

This was the worst experience that I have ever had with a hair cut. My hair was 1.5 feet long and I asked for an inch or 2 off, my hair is now 6 inches long. After 7 months I still think about my hair everyday and how much I miss it. It makes me want to kill myself, my cutter was named Mandy I think. So beware and do not go here unless you want to go bald. read more

Was a little than more disappointed with my service there . I have been here many times and normally very reasonable for the service they give as far as prices. But I went in for my birthday just to get it colored and cut, I haven't had it done in 9 months . I walked in the lady was too busy talking to another worker to help me , so 5 minutes later she finally addressed me I asked her how much it would cost she didn't answer me instead she starts talking to the other employee again about unrelated things. Then she finally got my checked in sat me down and looked at my hair with almost disgust ( it had not been colored in awhile so looked a little weird) I found it rude I asked her for pricing and she said since my hair hadn't been closed she would have to do a color correction or top of it being dyed. So it would be 169 . Let me just say I have had my hair colored and highlighted many times in my life and have never paid that much even at high end hair places for just getting it dyed. I told her I would have to discuss it with my husband because we had agreed it no more than 110 because that was more then reasonable for dying hair. She just shrugged and walked away to talk to another employee. I walked outside called and got the no I expected. The lady was no where to be found when I got back so I grabbed my things and just left. Bad service and very bad prices for the service and also I felt like she was very rude. Also have had a perm there once that wasn't done right and fell out the next day , but got a refund so wasn't too upset. Just be careful who does your service there and what prices they give you . She just seemed to busy to even want to do it so she gave me bs pricing. It just majorly sucked because it was my birthday. read more

So if I could give this place no stars I would. I wish I could say that my unhappiness with this place had something to do with receiving a bad haircut but, unfortunately, I never even made it past their dismal front desk. Came in here at 9 am with 2 people in front of me who were confused because there was no sign in and not one of the 3 employees would look up from their work to even acknowledge them. I asked on behalf of all of us if we need to sign in and one snotty girl said we will get to you. No greeting, no semblance of customer service. So I sit down and then a few minutes the snotty girl asks who was first and the first man gave his name and then she asked the other woman and said it won't be until 10 am that we can get to you in a tone as if she just wanted us to leave she forgot to ask me when the first guy said you forgot her. In her snotty tone, she asked what are you getting done? I said color and a cut and she said oh no we can't do you until 1 pm in yet again a snotty dismissive tone. So I left as did the other woman perplexed at their attitude. The snotty girl actually seemed relieved at pushing out customers. Given that there are about 4 or 5 out of business locations in this small center, you would think customer service would be a top priority. Owner of this franchise I feel sorry for you because they will end up running you out of business. read more

Absolute worst experience I have ever had at a hair salon! My teenage daughter and I went in to have my daughter's roots colored. An hour later the stylist, Jen, says my daughter is done. As I look, it appears that her roots are actually orange rather than blonde like the rest of her hair. Jen tells me "that's the best I can do because her hair is damaged"...ok, but we asked you to color the roots, not the rest of her hair. She sent my daughter home with wet hair, mind you...I suppose so we wouldn't notice the true color. An hour later, it had dried and I was absolutely appalled! Yes, the top three inches of her head was orange! Obviously, the bleach had not been on long enough and a toner was not used. I called and asked Jen if we could return to have it fixed and she said, "No, but I can give you a shampoo to help with the brassiness." Needless to say, the next day we had to pay another $125 to have it done properly elsewhere. Unbelievable service. read more
