Normally We utilize another business for trims, so much so they have the guard sizes saved in the computer. Two needed a trim and stylists here were willing to fit them in on a Sunday without an appointment. Youngest Son is super skidish but she spoke kindly to him, listened to his imput and even washed his hair afterwards in a way that he felt comfortable the entire process. I went next door to grab daughter from Bath & B. W. Sons were in good hands. Sunday running of errands, need an around the ears, back of neck trim, we will be back. We had an appointment at 1145 and they were running late which happens no problem. So we get called back 30 minutes late. We were told the updo would be 45. They couldn't figure out how to charge us appropriately so they charged us twice for the updo and curling. Total came out to almost $70. read more

Had an appointment today at 5:00 PM, arrived at 4:45. Walked in and no one asked me if I had an appointment. Red flag #1. Woman that was supposed to cut my hair asks another woman if she can take her 5 o'clock men's haircut, other woman never answers. Red flag #2. My appointment time comes and goes, still being ignored. Finally at 5:10, without anyone telling me they were running late or even acknowledging my existence, I leave. All they had to do was tell me they were running late and it would have been fine. But if you're going to ignore me and concentrate on your prior appointment, then I'll take my business elsewhere. Most unprofessional experience I've had in a long time. read more

I wanted to post this sooner, but the Hair Cuttery has a well kept secret that needs to get out. Her name is Anastasia and she is amazing!!! I went in THE DAY BEFORE MY WEDDING with a severe hair dye mishap! I was blonde with purple roots! Three hours of laughing and chatting with Anastasia while she diligently worked on correcting my awful home hair dye disaster, and I walked a a shiny, gorgeous redhead with beautiful tone, color, trim and style. I can not thank her enough for what she did for me! The day of my wedding, I was telling my bridesmaids about the whole thing, come to find out, she's who my bridesmaids go to too! I hear rotten stuff about Hair Cuttery all the time, but as long as Anastasia is there, that's where myself and my friends will be going! If you want a great hair cut, ask for her. She knows what to ask to get you to where you want to go, even if you're not sure yourself. Maybe it was just the lady that I got (who's name I can't remember sadly), but I walked out with the worst hair cut EVER! I am a female and I had long hair that I wanted to be cut short (ear level). The lady took my hair out of a pony tail and cut it straight around. Not only did she get hair all over me (despite the cloak, it was even in my lap), there were still HUGE chunks of long hair that she missed. She charged me for a wash and cut, even though she only cut it, I had to ask her to spray it with her water bottle! read more

The last two times I went to this Hair Cuttery have been extreme disappointments. The first time I went for a cut and color and the person who did my hair had it a totally pure orange color while wet, this after telling me she was a professional colorist and it would turn out gorgeous. After the orange disaster, she attempted to FIX it by adding some of this in, and some of that in after not being able to neutralize the color, and then ended up recoloring it all together. I was there three hours!! The manager on duty realized the awful problems and sent me on my way without paying, but the end result was totally not acceptable. So I stopped in there today for a quick cut and was told the wait time was 1/2 hour. OK. I went out for about 20 minutes, came back and there were all new customers sitting there, so I knew it should be about my turn. I was told I was next up. Someone came in after me and she was questioned what she wanted to be done to her hair, as with the other few people sitting around that came after me. It was like an interview with the hair cutter deciding which job she wanted to take. So I was bumped once, didn't say anything, but after another lame-brained excuse as to why someone else was next instead of me, I walked out, never to return. The manager wasn't there at that moment, so it was totally not her fault. I was furious. Horribly mismanaged salon when the cat is away and the workers are left to do what they want to do and who they want to do it to. read more

If all you want is a basic cut for cheap, than you will probably be fine here. I have gone to this place a couple times and walked away with fine haircuts, but they were basic trims. That being said, basic/simple is a relative term because I just left with a really bad cut on what I would think would be a fairly common and simple style, the long bob. I should have known better, but I also braved highlights here which was a total disaster. I ended up going to another salon to have my hair dyed back to my natural color and my cut fixed so that the hair was even. read more

I went to hair cuttery 2 weeks ago to get a trim and some layers. Well.... the lady with the short black hair(2 seats from the back) destroyed my hair! I told her that I'm growing out my hair out and wanted a trim and some layers added ( I have thin hair wanted some volume) my hair was a little past my shoulder. She shoped my hair up to my bangs!!!!! And my bottom half of my hair is to my chin. So it looks like a have a bowl cut. I will never step foot into that shop again. I have gone to upper scale salons who charge a minimum of 50 dollars a cut and I am glad I came to Hair Cuttery instead. I am so pleased with my experience here! I didn't have to wait at all, and the place was bright and clean. The stylists were all cheerful and friendly, socializing with their customers etc. My stylist, Kelly, was great! I came in unsure of if the style I had in mind would work for me. I showed her a picture, she gave me an honest assessment, and she got to work. She was friendly and chatted with me while don't my hair. She was extremely thorough, checking and rechecking my layers to make sure they were even, and fixing even the tiniest issues. When she blow dried it out she describes how to style it myself and took get time to make sure it was done perfectly for me. I'm so impressed by the level of expertise here! Thanks Kelly! read more

5+ years ago I had positive experiences at Hair Cuttery. There were a couple decent stylist at the time. Last last few years it has gone from bad to worse. My last cut was so terrible, uneven, and the stylist had to ask another stylist for help multiple times. It was so bad I will never have my hair cut there again. Today I took my two young daughters, they get simple cuts, I thought they could handle that. We were told it would be a 40-45 minute wait. After an hour and 20 minutes later they took back one. Stylist had been disappearing off the floor, there were only two left and they were too busy talking with each other, answering the phone and checking in customers. Finally at two hours my first daughter was finishing up and three or four stylist come wondering out of the back. One (I later found out she was a manager!) came up and call my other daughter. I explained that we were told 45 minutes and have been waiting for two hours now ...we can't wait any longer. She didn't say ONE WORD TO ME, no apology, nothing. Just looked at the next person on the list and took them back. ....Seriously! A short "sorry" or maybe even a brief explanation isn't too much to expect in that situation. The woman cutting my first daughter's hair was obviously annoyed at being left with a room full of clients and only two women cutting hair. And said the managers decided to have a spur of the moment meeting - that's why no one was giving hair cuts and sticking people with a 2 hour waited after saying it would only be 45 minutes. AND only one of my girls even got a hair cut! Very unprofessional, rude behavior on part of the managers there. read more

5 stars because specific stylists always exceed my expectations, as they should. I've come to the place enough to get the results I'm looking for. Whether it be a teenage girl or myself (male 40s). Specific workers exceed my expectations. I guess you'll need to give the place a try and figure out who they are. Once set you'll be coming back. read more

Can you give zero stars? After being told of a 2 hour wait at the Hair Cuttery in Lusby, I called ahead to this location. Young lady who answered phone said they were walk in and to head on down. Ok... Arrived and my wife was told 20 minutes. Ok, we came this far. 49 minutes goes by. Three year old gets a little restless. I relieve my wife of toddler hair cut duty. The ladies must not have seen that the little one and I moved chairs and proceeded to talk about how my wife wasn't patient and couldn't wait. Asked for the manager, and was told there was not one. I was given a card for "Shelisa". If she is truly a "salon leader", she should clean house. Garbage staff, garbage attitide, garbage customer service. After this ordeal, went to Sport Clips and we were in and out in 10 minutes. Kudos to Sports Clips in California. Cleaning up the dookie experience of a poor salon. read more

Really disappointed. I have gone to various other Hair Cuttery locations and have been very satisfied with my cut and the customer service. However, I scheduled an appt today as a walk in. I was told there would be a forty minute wait. I agreed to wait. I briefly left the salon (~25 minutes). I returned and waited well beyond the stated 40 minute wait time. After seeing a customer (who scheduled after me) being taken back, I tried to get the attention of the man who scheduled my appt. He completely ignored me and obviously did not want to address the situation. I will never be back. read more

1 star is way too many for this place. I am beyond furious. I went in for a bob style cut that I have gotten a few times now. I went in prepared with not one picture but 1 of back, front and side of the style I wanted. She buzzed almost the entire back of my head! The back looks like one of those old bowl cuts where you just put a bowl on the boys head and buzz around it. I was too embarrassed and beside myself to leave the car so my husband went in with pictures of what I wanted and what I got. The look of shock on her face and she just apologized over and over. It is to the point where she said "I can't even do anything to fix that". She handled it very well and not only gave my husband a refund but offered to style my hair once it grows back. Though appreciated I will NEVER step foot in this place again. They even messed up my husband's hair and all he wanted WAS a simple tapered buzz cut. read more
