She was so professional and I appreciated her honesty on styling and cut options. I had the worst leg wax experience there. It happened about 2 years ago, but never got around to writing this. To start, the woman who did my wax had no idea what she was doing. She didn't have the wax the right temperature and every time she would try to rip it, it would pull at my hair, but wouldn't rip it out, I don't think it was hot enough. She struggled with this for a while, but finally it kind of started to work. About an hour into the wax, and she wasn't even close to done, nobody's fault but her own. She had to cancel a hair appointment to finish my wax. I felt bad, but again, wasn't my fault. This wasn't my first time getting waxed, so I let my hair grow to the perfect length before booking the appointment, before my cruise. Anyways, we finish up around 2 excruciating hours later. When I get up to wipe my legs down to get the excess wax off (something she didn't do), I noticed there was still quite a bit of hair left. At this point, I was just ready to get out of there. I figured I'd go home and use my at-home wax kit to clean up the rest. Obviously this is upsetting because I was paying a lot of money to just have to go home and do more of it myself. The part that really upset me, is when I went to check out, they charged me AN EXTRA $50 because the appointment went over the 1 hour expected time. So here I was, having to pay $150 for legs that still had hair on them. I paid it, but called later to complain. The receptionist told me she'd have her manager reach out, she never did. I went on my cruise and it kind of slipped my mind, until just now when I came across this salon on here. DO NOT GET WAXED HERE, THEY ARE SCAMMERS. An absolutely terrible environment. I'm attaching pictures with the date as proof. I should have pushed to get my money back. I honestly still deserve it. How can anybody look at my legs and charge $150??? read more

I searched for a good hair stylist for the first 4 years of living in Southern MD. The others were "ok", but I never loved the cut. Then I found Beverly and I couldn't be happier! Jessie G. is a phenomenal hair stylist, and I only trust her to do my hair. She's funny, down to earth, and listens to what you want done. I've never left her chair, not loving my hair!! I recommend her 100%!!! I've never had any other services at Bella Salon, but I have friends and family that go there for threading, massages, etc, and they all have loved their services, too! The waiting/seating area could use some help as far as getting better quality chairs/couches as the ones they have sag to the floor and is hard to get up from. I am going to preface this by saying the hair stylists here have been great. This review is for the front staff and the overall attitude in the salon. The front staff needs a lesson in manners and customer service. They really cannot be bothered. You have to ask several times for info on other services, and then you really don't get what you need regardless. I finally decided to take a chance on another salon because of this, and I am glad I did. They were welcoming and friendly, and asked what I wanted to accomplish, and got me just that. When I just now cancelled my existing appointment at Bella, I had to ask the girl answering the phone if I had the right number (I couldn't understand a word she said). When I said I was cancelling, she uttered a terse, "who with?". I told her, and her next response was, "you've been taken out of the system". No "would you like to reschedule?", no utterance of civility other than those words. If I were a stylist, this would make me angry, because this loses business. In addition, the owner needs to realize that she can have the best stylists in the world, but if you have zero customer service on the phone and at the front desk, it just doesn't matter. I have been seeing Christi for my hair and Carmen for my eyebrows and facials for YEARS and Love them! Christi is amazing, the color and cut comes out exactly as planned every time, and I change color a lot! Also, I have a short bob, which can be hard to nail. Carmen always takes good care of all my waxing needs and has amazing facials that do wonders for my skin. I shopped around a lot when I first moved to the area and was so happy to find Bella. The girls are fun and the atmosphere is comfortable. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone. read more

I'm used to going to a particular place for a FULL bikini wax but the nearest location is an hour away....anyway I get to my appointment after explaining via telephone the day prior that I wanted a full wax. Needless to say, I got waxed but there's still pieces of wax residue sticking to my skin! Really happy with my brow waxing. She listened to me and did just what I wanted. Knew what questions to ask as well. Some other places they just start ripping away hair and make the brows they think you should have. Not here. Well done. The atmosphere of the salon was nice too. I went to Bella Salon and asked for "natural highlights, just a little color for summer." It did not turn out well, see pictures. I did return and the stylist did make improvements. It is now acceptable but I still feel like it's a fix job and I still have 1"-2" roots that completely and suddenly contrast from the rest of the strand of hair. The stylist said that she left roots because it was a balayage highlight - this not balayage! Then she said that she did a combo of balayage and highlights and that the section I show in the picture is a highlight - but then the highlight needs to go much closer to the scalp. I realize that everyone has a oops job once in awhile, but when I returned I didn't get a "oops, let me fix that." I got more of a patronizing, "we can fix that if you are that picky." It was all very friendly, but a patronizing, fix up job is just not worth $100+ price tag! read more

Will never go back after I was given a Mother's Day gift certificate by a very well meaning but uninformed male friend in my life where he was promised my daughter and I would get the "princess treatment." Even though he paid an absorbent price (that I found out about later), I was charged an additional $50 for a mediocre pedicure for me and manicure and pedicure for my 10 year old daughter. The technician was "new to nails" in the shop and loose with her tongue around my daughter. My advice is either choose another of the many less pretentious salons in the area, or gift card purchasers: BEWARE! read more

Have been to them a total of three times. Morgan did highlights twice and both times they turned out well. I had a not so good haircut by someone who's name eludes me and a great short haircut by Sarah. Today, I had an appointment and problems with my car but went out of my way to get to the appointment on time. I was told by the receptionist that the stylist would be right out. I checked ten minutes later and was told once again that she'd be right with me. I checked twenty minutes later and they said she'd be out in a minute and when I finally asked her to tell me the truth was the stylist there or not, I found out she wasn't even there. I love my hair stylist, so I'm not sharing her name. I have been getting my hair colored for I don't know how many years and she's been the ONLY person who has gotten it to the color I've wanted. This place is clean and the prices aren't too bad. The only reason I gave it 4 stars, versus 5, is because it takes a really long time (I don't have long hair), the price is a little high but mainly because twice we've I've been there there have been children there. Not getting their hair cut but waiting on a parent and they have their crap every where. Not very professional or relaxing. read more

I had to write a review because of the poor job that was done here. I had an updo for a wedding as I was trying to save some time since this place was near my hotel and knew a bunch of girls were doing their hair during wedding prep. My hair was un-even, messy and the girl could not curl my hair to save her life and she just said sorry after I kept telling her what was wrong. It looked like it was done by a 12 year old and I was trying to be nice and just left otherwise I would of been very loud and shouldn't of paid at all. I would not recommend this place by the girl who did my hair. I've never experienced such poor service before. read more
