I booked for a $37 shampoo, cut, and classic blow dry. The stylist didn't shampoo my hair properly - she didn't lift my head out of the bowl at all to scrub or make sure the back of my head/hair at the base of my neck was washed properly. We discussed style. I told her I wanted layers - multiple. She asked where I parted my hair, I told her the side. She cut one, single layer - and didn't part my hair properly, she left it parted in the middle after I showed her how I wear it. When combing through my hair she was extremely rough. She didn't attempt to detangle the knots - she ripped through them. When checking out, she charged me $57 for a deluxe blow dry instead of the $37 service I booked for. read more

There was a heavy set girl with short dark colored hair with reddish streaks that was too busy to acknowledge customers because she was busy talking to her friend that came in about FB. To make matters worse, she also did not bother answering the phone until over five or six rings. All the other girls were busy cutting hair for customers and all this girl had to do was to answer phone calls and check customers in but apparently that was too difficult for her. Finally after waiting forever and giving up for her to acknowledge me, I started walking out. She finally asked me while I was leaving if I was waiting for an appointment. I told her apparently your too busy to acknowledge customers and left. There is no excuse for lazy workers with bad work ethics and horrible customer service. As you can see, the husband and I have very different opinions on this establishment, and I will tell you why. For walk in hair trims, yup...meh...there's a wait, the stylists are usually way rushed...look at the location though! This is by far one of the busiest market places in the area! I can tell you why I fuggin love this place: - I make an appointment - I make an appointment a good week-week and a half before the date I want to be there - I make an appointment with the same person - Because I have been going to the same person for several years, she totally gets my style and I honestly don't even have to tell her how to cut my hair - I say..."do something cool!" and off she goes to mix up lowlights/highlights and then cuts away. My hair grows like a weed so it doesn't make sense for me to attempt a short hairstyle or to get my color done every two weeks at one of those fancy pants salons...I love Tranquility in Hainesport, but godDAMN they are expensive for hair coloring/cutting!! I get my high/lowlights touched up every three - six months and try to get it cut at that time too. The best part about this place is that the price is unbeatable - the amount of awesomeness done on my hair and for how little I pay is amazing - I laugh when my friends say they spend $300 on 4 tiny highlights - there's no reason to spend that kind of money if you can identify a solid stylist at Hair Cuttery! read more

I've been coming here for 5+ years, ever since my stylist, Christy, came here from a salon in Mt. Laurel. She is fantastic, and always goes above & beyond to fit me in, be friendly and courteous, and we always have a nice chat together. When Christy was on maternity leave, I used Lauren once or twice, and she was also great. The store is clean and I've never felt a weird vibe, everyone seems to be friendly and get along well. The longest I've waited was 20 minutes, but it's usually 5-10 or less. A couple times I left and came back another day (I work super close by), but they told me right away that Christy was booked up. I know I can use the site to do the equivalent of call-ahead (a handy feature that they rolled out in the last year or two), but I've only remembered to do that once so far. I'll keep happily coming here, as long as Christy keeps cutting hair! read more

I used to go to this Hair Cuttery all the time for haircuts, and had done so for five years. Lately, they've just been too busy for me to get in, and I don't have time to wait an hour to sit in a hair for 10 minutes. I've made appointments in the past, and not only do they charge you extra, but they're never ready for you when your appointment time rolls around. Believe me...I'm an easy haircut customer. Number two on the sides, scissors on top, and you don't even need to wash my hair, most times. I just don't go back here anymore, because I'm tired of waiting. I used to always go to Great Clips in the same plaza, but decided to give Hair Cuttery a try today since they dye hair and Great Clips does not. While the place was quite crowded for a weekday afternoon, I was seated within five minutes of walking in the door. Jill did a great job coloring my hair and hiding my grays. My hair is dark blonde and she transformed it into a beautiful shade of light, honey blonde that was very natural and vibrant. It turned out even better than I had imagined. Was super pissed and won't be back. First, I checked in and there are a bunch of "employees" walking around just gossiping and sitting in the backroom (there are 2-3 customers in there). They periodically kept coming up but no one took me. When I checked in, they asked what I wanted and I said haircut and blow dry. I asked how much and they said 26.00 and asked how long my hair was. I showed them. Then, a few more people came up and left. Then a guy that works there came up and asked who I was here for to which I told him I'm checked in for next available, he took me. Wash and haircut was great. When I came up to pay, he told me 36.00 and I asked why. He told me Long hair charge. If that was the case, shouldn't he have asked me if I wanted the blowdry? DO NOT GO TO THIS HAIRCUTTERY!!!!! I will never go here again! Un-friggin-believe-able!!!! I showed up on a Tuesday night at 6:15 to have my seven year old have his haircut. They told me it would be a 40 minute wait, I agreed, put in his name and went to eat at Subway next door. I came back to check the time at 6:50, they said there was one person ahead and then we would be served. One of the girls was still working on the same haircut from when I was there at 6:15, the young girls hair was long - but they were just chatting and ignoring all the people in the waiting room. Taking their own sweet time. We waited until 7:15 and were still not waited on! Then they had at least six other people that had put their names in earlier in the night all prior to us, (when she had just told us we were next). I decided to say something and they could have cared less. I explained that he was a child (as they obviously needed glasses to see that), but again they do not work that way so they could have cared even less. I told them to leave our name off and we were leaving. They cared even more less.....we quickly ran another errand at Target and it dawned on me. They did not care at all - so I decided to call back and have them put my son back on the list but I told them to have him be next. We walked back in and I sat him down in one of the chairs, not in the waiting room - to make them personally accountable. Of course the girls said something, but I stated flatly that I was waiting an hour and a half already in the waiting room, I was up for a change of scenery. Another girl joked that was nothing, MOST people have to wait TWO hours for a haircut. Really? That is funny to you haircut lady???? My time is precious, but she is laughing. As they only had three workers that night, two tied up with coloring and one taking the men as walk ins. They still did not take us, I asked them for the card for their home office and their manager's number. I have every intention on making a complaint. They were so rude, they even threatened to call the police as they stated I was harrassing them! So we left, it is amazing that a retail establishment can have horrible service, horrible people working there, and they have zero accountability to the general public. Call the police on complaining about service? For real? #1: the haircut was great, HOWEVER, beware of extra charges that you won't be advised about. The haircut for a senior stylist is $31. OK. When my 9 year old was in the chair, we discussed the hair cut. She had long hair. The stylist never mentioned that there would be an upcharge. She got 5+ inches cut off so the blow dry was NOT on long hair. I was then charged $44 for the shampoo/cut/blowdry because it was a "long hair blowout". No, it wasn't. I didn't have time to make an appointment, so I went to hair cuttery thinking it would be fine and that there was no real difference. Well, I asked for my hair cut to a point and it is pretty much straight I also asked for a trim, and got 7 inches taken off. Hair cut was fine like any haircut you can get anywhere specially for a woman with longer hair. Unfortunately, the manager Christine is overcharging! Went in for a haircut and blow dry that usually cost me $36, $26 for cut/blow dry/shampoo which is by the way what's listed on their price list and extra $10 for longer hair but now charging me $55! What kind of crap is this! $18 for cut $27 for shampoo/blow dry and extra $10 for long hair! I mean this is Hair Cuttery not any upscale hair salon! I complained and got $10 taken off like I should be thankful for it. Also, usually they will tell you how much it'll cost prior before all this hidden charges!
