I recently went to another salon where I was charged $300 for hair I didn't ask for and hated. I booked a highlight with Imani at Hair Cutery to attempt to fix it. Imani and I talked in depth about my hair and what was best for it and we both were honest with each other on what the highlights would look like now that I had a much different base color than intended. Ultimately, we decided to bring my hair back to a solid soft brown. That was three days ago and I'm still raving about how much I love my hair. ABSOLUTELY LOVE GOING HERE I decided to go here for haircuts ever since moving to the area from another county. Upon my first interactions with Clarice, I knew I'd love getting my haircuts here. She was so kind and I truly loved chatting with her during my appointment. Since then, I've booked appointments with various other staff members and they're all amazing! At first I went here because it was close to my job at the time; I will continue going here, even though I no longer work in the area. It's just that great of a salon. I've also gone here for highlights and loved Clarice's wok!!! It was my first time getting highlights done, so I was a bit nervous. We have gone into this Hair Cuttery twice to have my daughter's hair curled and both times the experience has been awful to say the least. The first time last spring, I took my daughter in to have her hair curled for a dance. She asked to have her hair washed, dried and curled because she came from field day at school. During the entire process the stylist complained in front of my daughter that it would take too long to wash and dry her hair and that I made the wrong appt (booked online as a hair curling appt). Thinking that time was a fluke, we booked a NYE appt for curling since our regular hairdresser was unavailable. This appt was far worse. Since we knew they hated washing hair, my daughter went in with dry hair. The stylist immediately told us her hair was too curly and we should have come in with straight hair and that she would have to work on her between other clients. She had 45 minutes before her color appt. During that time, the stylist brushed her hair & played a little with curling with the straight iron. Then she moved to her foil client and came back to us. After 1.5 hours in the salon she told us she couldn't do my daughter's hair...that it was too greasy (she washed the day before but the stylist rolled her eyes at that), too frizzy, wouldn't hold any of the very loose curl my daughter wanted and we had to leave. It felt very clear to us that she just didn't want to be bothered. When my daughter said she was confused the stylist told her she wasn't listening. We left shocked and my daughter was in tears because she didn't understand what just happened. Luckily my neighbor is also a hairdresser and was able to give my daughter the look she wanted in 45 minutes...no wash, just a flat iron with some waves added in. Needless to say we will never go back to this salon. It is shocking how we were made to feel like a bother and that we were doing something wrong both times we stepped into this salon....truly awful unprofessional service. read more

Went to get balyage for my hair and it was barely noticeable so I ended up coming back to have them redo it, but it was done on my hair solidly not strands ! It was SUPER ORANGE , they have no business doing highlights at all if they can't get it right even the second time around! Really badly done! I threw away $100 plus tip to initially have it done. I don't recommend this place, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE GETTING HIGHLIGHTS! It was absolutely so bad I had to dye my hair back to its original shade! You have been warned!!! read more

I went to hair cuttery today expecting the same wonderful experience as I have had for many years, however, if you have any respect for the military you are no longer welcome here as they no longer acknowledge your service with any discount. The idea of any business not acknowledging the military in these troubled times disgusts me and I will not honor them again. UPDATE - Just received a call from one of the managers at hair cuttery. She explained to me that this was temporary and the company is planning to re-instate their discount policy at a later time. read more

Favorite place! So underestimated! You can always trust these stylists. Pam is my favorite- she can tackle any photo you show her and she's a perfectionist, making it exactly how you envisioned. She has cut my hair multiple times and amazed me with balayage highlights! And she knows all the classic cuts as well as any new trends! I recommend her to all my friends. I saw Danielle today for a trim on my long curly hair. Not many people know how to cut curly hair, but this lady is a PRO! She knew too cut it dry first and only took off the bare minimum as I requested. She was very nice, listened to my concerns and was very helpful in choosing a product right for my hair. I couldn't have had a better experience with her and the salon. All the staff was very friendly, salon was impeccably clean and I had an 1130 appointment and was sitting in the chair at 1132. I highly recommend Danielle, especially if you have curly hair that you're very protective of! Lol. 5 stars to Danielle and the Staff. Thanks for a great experience. read more

Don't go here if you can help it. I had to learn the hard way that with hair cuts you pay for what you get. I had Sara and the layers that she cut in my hair don't blend at all, and she cut off 6 inches when I asked her to take 2 off. Beware!!! read more

I am soooooo picky and finding someone who knows how to cut my super thick coarse hair is like finding a diamond. Kaytie evened up everything, cut my bangs PERFECTLY which is no easy task because 100 other stylists have trouble with them (LOL) and chopped off the ends on the over-processed part. I needed a little more than a trim and didn't feel like paying a lot for it so I decided to try this spot. My experience was good. Nothing amazing but definitely nothing negative. I can't remember who cut my hair, but she did a good job and listened to what I wanted. I was glad she didn't try to convince me to do something I didn't want to do which seems to happen to me at a lot of other salons. I will be going back for basic trims. read more

Worst customer service ever! Walk in for cut/color. Only waited a few minutes. When I explained what color I wanted she said she didn't feel comfortable doing it, so I said just cut it then. Next thing I know she's yelling at me because I don't want color. I tried to ask her to just cut my hair and she made this giant scene, threw the cape down and stormed off. The salon manager talked to me and offered to schedule me when she had time in her schedule. I left and won't consider going back. I could almost see it if I had fussed at her, but I didn't. I told her to just cut my hair because I didn't like the color that SHE wanted to color my hair. I thought I was entitled to choose if I liked a color since I was paying for it. I'd suggest avoiding the place at all costs! read more

If you have long hair, DO NOT see Kristen. My hair has been butchered. I went in for a trim and asked how much would need to be cut to make the ends look clean and Kristen said about an inch. We agreed to that and to keep my long layers as they were, just to trim it all up. Kristen cut three inches from my hair and my layers look ridiculous-- the top layers are a full six inches shorter than the bottom layers. I thought it was odd that Kristen didn't hand me a mirror to see the back of my head after the cut, but thought maybe it was just because the store was getting busy. Now that I get home and look at my hair, I think there may be more to it than that. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with my cut and, though I've had some good trims before with other stylists, I will not be taking my chances with Hair Cuttery again, even if just for a trim since this one turned out so poorly and there's no way to even fix it without going even shorter. read more
