1-Star Review If I could leave zero stars, I would. Melanie completely ruined my hair and overcharged me for it. I paid $280 total for blonde ombre highlights that were supposed to fade from dark at the top to light at the bottom -- and she didn't do that at all. Instead, my entire head was unevenly colored, and there were no full highlights like I asked for. She left brown sections at the bottom, so if I put my hair in a ponytail, you wouldn't even know I got it done. I literally paid extra for the blonde effect at the bottom, and she didn't bother doing it. The whole process felt rushed, sloppy, and unprofessional. Melanie didn't offer a refund or take responsibility, so I had to dispute the charge with my bank just to protect myself. For nearly $300, this was unacceptable and a complete waste. Don't trust Melanie with your hair -- she clearly doesn't listen, doesn't care, and gives you far less than what you pay for. read more

I called the salon and a very nice lady name Shahla answered the phone, I told her I need to get something done, a highlight, a lowlight, anything! Just want to change, she was kind enough to schedule me for the same day and upon my arrival, I was greeted by Shahla, she had a nice smile on and was very welcoming. I noticed she was cleaning the chair after her previous client, something that is very important to me. Then she patiently listened to me while I was trying to explain the look I was trying to achieve. She then started the highlights, I have done my hair so many times, enough to know that she was a pro, she did a wonderful job adding full highlights followed by a base color change. We had a lovely conversation the entire time that i was there. I did not feel rushed at all, felt very respected as a client and she kept checking on me to make sure my hair is not damaged, due to my hair being overprocessed prior to visiting hair. I should have gotten up after the woman didn't under shortening the back corners of my beard, not taking any length off of the front, and blend it from shorter to longer She actually had someone come over and show her what I was talking about. That woman even cut a bit of my beard, told her where where not to cut. More than I wanted cut off, years of experience does not equate to quality. She asked me if I wanted a blow out and I said no thank you as It was pouring rain out anyway. Hair Cuttery is a chain where you can pretty much just walk in and be seen. $20 for a wash, cut and blow dry for kids under 8 years old. Nothing fancy, just a very basic place to get a hair cut. So I was in a pinch the morning of school pictures for my Kindergarten daughter who has very curly thick hair that is very hard and to brush. My daughter desperately wanted her hair blown out straight for pictures. So I decide to take her a little trim and blow out the day of pictures especially since I skipped the back to school hair cut and it had been months since she had a trim. This could go great or very very bad. The regular salon I normally take her to could not squeeze her in before school, but I walked in to the Hair Cuttery and was she seen right away. Overall, it was a good experience. Not as fun as the kids salon she goes to where she has shampoo choices. I told the lady to blow her hair straight. She left some curl at the bottom which I would have preferred to see it straight since that was what I asked for, but it was still cute. My daughter was happy with the end result. read more

So my hubby needed a haircut. There was a bit of a communication mix up at his regular hair cuttery so he opted to go to this one. We walked in and he was promptly taken back. He didn't look too happy or upset by the cut. To me they did a good job. The cut was even on both sides and they cut it short enough but not too short. He of course had some critiques of the cut. I went for my 2nd haircut this year to my usual Hair Cuttery in Sterling and got a big surprise. From Jan. to today the price went from $30 to $33. Hair Cuttery upped their prices from $19 to $30 a couple years ago because they upgraded their more experienced people. I thought that was a big increase even then and now the price has gone to $33 + tip. I'd like to know how much of that $33 goes to the person who cuts my hair since I give her 20-25% each time and my bill is nearly $40. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a cut and balayage at this place and drove 35 minutes to get there. When I sat down and told them what I wanted they tried to tell me to get highlights instead. After I explained that I didn't want highlights because I don't like the way they grow out, they asked me if I wanted to reschedule the appointment. This was extremely upsetting because I spent 35 minutes to drive all the way there and had to leave because they could not do balayage even though that's what I scheduled the appointment for. read more

So we are moving back to Las Vegas NV in a week and I needed my daughter to have shorter hair, for the 115 degree summers. Also trying to wrangle a two year olds hair into hair ties when the hair hangs directly in her face causes morning tantrums that I wanted to avoid for a month or two. I ask the stylist to cut her hair like the reference photo-short-and I even explained why. The stylist said three times that my daughter will look like a boy. And every time I insisted I wanted the hair cut the way I asked - she would say it would make her look like a boy. So that's not a great start-I didn't ask for her opinion the first time nor the third. But whatever she starts cutting it and tries to stop at a bob/lob kind of look-I again said I wanted the short hair I requested-showed the photo again. She then stops at this bowl cut pixie look that is super uneven -and NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. Like the thing I asked for multiple times. Super frustrating-wouldn't listen to my multiple requests and then gives me a haircut that is uneven and not what I wanted. read more

I get excellent value here from Koni. She is from Africa, has a hint of a British accent, sparkling eyes, and excellent attention to detail. She trims my eyebrows and the random hairs growing from my ears. Since Covid, I only go in after showering and shampooing myself to lessen the extended inside proximity. Haircut and blow dry is always spot on, and the timing is very much on schedule. On the rare occasions when I have used other providers, they have been mostly acceptable. Koni is a gem. read more

My wife and I came here initially to get an hombre look done for her. After the initial attempt didn't go as planned, Serenity, the stylist stepped in and went way beyond to correct things. Seriously, she stayed 3 hours after closing to make sure we were happy and the process took 5 hours of her time. If Melanie, the manager reads this, you need to give Serenity a raise. She even gave us hot chocolate before we left for "being so patient." In my opinion, if you need to get hair color treatment done, choose Serenity as your stylist. She went way beyond what we would have expected. If that doesn't show good service, I don't know what does. read more
