Horrible came home tried to fix my hair. Its cut uneven, dried out from the dryer flat on top. She said I'll clean your neck razor. There is hair everywhere that was missed. I thought I would give this one a try master stylist. Omg its horrible. Not at all what I asked for. Im so upset over this is have to go somewhere to have it fixed. Brow shaping only appointment. I walked in from the cold - literally! - to see if I could be taken for a brow wax. Bingo! Kia shaped up my mussy brows perfectly; albeit a bit slowly, but I was new to her. And they look great! I also asked about her caring for "my type" (i.e. - fine/wavy/frizzy) of hair there, and she said that she/they did :) Kia gave me tips on washing my hair (less and to NOT use shampoo every other day like I currently do [just use the water]). I have never heard of this, but am definitely going to try it! I'm always looking for new ways to care for this "mop!" This Hair Cuttery is literally in walking distance of my new job, so this could be a wonderful thing!!! read more

This place is awful. My son needed a last minute haircut before a wedding on Friday. I planned on coming in tonight and checked their hours. The actual website said 8:30. I walked up to the door at 7:48 and tried opening it only to find it was locked. A woman, Lisa, comes to the door and pretends she can't hear me through the door. Now I'm pretty sure it wasn't 6 inch thick bulletproof glass. All she does is point to a sign saying we're closed. The sign says 8:00 and even though they were "closed" by their hours, I was sure as hell there before that time. Maybe your hours should be closed at 7:48pm. I was there with a 2.5 year old little boy whose haircut couldn't possibly take more than 10 minutes. When we started walking away he started crying because he couldn't get a haircut. I took my son for a trim today. We had a picture and described want he wanted to the stylist. He wanted a haircut but not really a haircut so basically a trim. The stylist was either not listening or so inept that she butchered his hair. I was in dismay and speechless. Worst haircut ever received in his 13 years. My son had haircut today 8/2/23 around 6:30 pm and he is 15 and he is very disappointed by his haircut The hair dresser did not do what he asked and top of that she lectured him very rudely what he should do and not to do with his life. Specifically he asked for 6" on top and 3" on the sides but the stylist did 3" uniformly throughout the entire head. She also complained that he had too much hair to cut and insinuated my husband was lazy for not taking him to get haircuts more often This is the first time we experienced such poor service at Hair Cuttery and we wish not to experience it again the in future my son trusts hair cuttery for his haircuts and has had good experiences but this time he is upset and even I am very shocked by his haircut. I have been coming here since October and working with Sarah to get my hair slowly to blonde and had it where I wanted it by my last visit in early February. The last visit I had- which was for a root touch-up- she somehow turned my hair from light golden blonde to a very odd, gray/brown color, which look FRIED. She overbleached my roots (which hurt like HELL), and she took nearly FOUR hours to do something that shouldn't have taken so much as an hour and a half because she kept attending to walk-ins constantly. At one point, this woman left me sitting FREEZING cold with wet hair in a chair after washing my hair so she could go attend to a male walk-in, and my back hurt the entire weekend after because I had to sit awkwardly for nearly 35 minutes with wet hair in the wash chair until I had one of the other girls in the salon go and get her when I couldn't take it anymore. She knew she had ruined my hair but kept telling me that "hair turns out different every time" (really? from light blonde to BROWN?!) but gave me a card with her cell phone number, and when I texted her about how unhappy I was- understandably, after spending four hours for a simple touch up and leaving with FRIED, gray/brown hair- she got extremely rude and told me she didn't have time to go "back and forth" to accommodate my schedule. Mind you, I left for spring break immediately after and live nearly 3 hours away, and she KNEW this and KNEW I would not be willing to drive all the way back during my spring break (which she ruined anyhow with the awful hair I had to go around with). I ended up calling corporate and the regional director and got my money back, but I still tipped this woman and won't be getting the tip back, which I was far too kind to give in the first place. Please do yourself a favor and AVOID this awful salon and this unprofessional woman Sarah at all costs. The high school-like atmosphere here is enough to give you a repulsed feeling, with middle-aged and older woman walking on Instagram and gossiping loudly about one another, but leaving with almost irreparable hair and having to pay nearly $400 at a very good salon (Lighten Up in Mount Olive) to have it almost put back to where it was is not worth it, or the gamble. read more

I didn't have a great experience here. I got my hair bleached and it was matted and over processed. I asked for a hair cut and because of the matted hair on top, she didn't cut the top layer of my hair. The haircut was just the ends and mostly in the back so when I brushed my hair at home it was longer in front (not intentional or wanted) - I had asked for a face frame and layers but that is not what I got. In the end, my hair broke due to the bleach. I am not unrealistic when it comes to bleaching, I would have rather been told the color I wanted was unrealistic than have it over processed and break. I'm still surprised she let me walk out with matted hair on top, but knew I was going to deep condition it at home so I let it go. read more

I've been going to this Hair Cuttery location for years, even though there is one around the corner from my house. I go there for Sarah! She is the most patient master stylist EVER. I can be quite particular but Sarah always develops a "hair plan" with me and I always love the results. Most recently, we went from dark brunette to a caramely blonde. I am so upset with how my hair came out... it looks like someone took scissors and chopped up one side of my hair. The layers aren't even. She only focused on one spot which is the spot that is now shorter than everywhere else. I feel like I can't even leave my hair down now. First off she didn't even know I was getting a hair cut which was actually just meant to be a trim when that is the first thing I said when I called to make the appointment. Then she told me that my hair was uneven... my hair was not uneven when I walked in there. It became that way once she was done. My hair is now destroyed and I can't even have someone else fix it because I'll end up with a bob which is not what I want. I walked in with decent length hair. All I asked for was a trim off my length, LONG layers and curtain bangs(which weren't done). The worse part is a paid for it. Word of advice, just because someone has curly hair. I typically go to a different Hair Cuttery, but this one was open later so I came here to still fit in my wash/cut/dry today. So happy that I made the switch because Suzy was awesome! This Hair Cuttery used to be a different salon, so the look and feel is much more of a professional nature - not like the other Hair Cuttery locations that I've seen. Suzy was really friendly and didn't forget anything about how I wanted my hair cut. She did a great job of trimming it up without taking a lot of length. And $35 for wash/cut/dry on a Sunday night with my long hair can't be beat! I feel great after going here, and I will definitely be back. read more

This place does HORRIBLE haircuts! My boyfriend went in for a trim and they didn't even cut it right, these ladies are old and know nothing about cutting different textured hair. DO NOT GO to the woman with bleach blonde hair and piercings in cheeks. She was OUT there...was acting like she just did a hit of heroin. Was not friendly...ruined my kids back to school haircut. Awful experience. BIG mistake going here. Shouldnt have even tipped her. I could have cut my kids hair better. Cant believe she even has her license to cut hair. Whenever I'm in town visiting family during the summer, I come to this spot to get a cut. I've also been to other chain salons at the same price point as Hair Cuttery. When I do get my hair cut at places like this, I do not expect a lot, but I didn't even get that this time. I just got back from this place and it was one of worst service experiences I can recall. I honestly don't know the name of the stylist that cut my hair, and I am not sure if I would have even stated it here. I'm not out to ruin someone's career. But I didn't know her name. Often the stylist will introduce herself. That didn't happen. That really wouldn't be a big deal but it was this particular experience because she just came off cold and distant as if didn't want to cut my hair and be bothered by me. I told her I was growing out the top of my hair out so I just wanted a very slight trim to neaten it up. My hair was about 2 1/2 to three inches long. She ended up cutting off at least an inch! She spent maybe a total of two to three minutes cutting my hair. I'm not a stylist myself, but I can tell when the stylist is cutting my hair for a particular style or just cutting it well. There's attention to detail and effort. I saw none of that during this particular cut. I was shocked when she said she was done after just two to three minutes. She just quickly chopped an inch off all around. It just felt like she wanted to be done with me as quickly as possible. She didn't trim the edges. She didn't see if things were straight and aligned. My hair wasn't even cut evenly. I couldn't tell at the the time because my hair was wet, but now that I am home and my hair is dry, I can see that patches of my hair are longer than other spots.There was absolutely no attention to detail. She just grabbed a bunch of hair with one hand, and cut off chunks with the other. Her obvious goal wasn't to make my hair look nice; she just wanted to cut hair off. There is a difference! Like I stated above, for the price, I don't expect that much, but I expect competency and decent service, which I didn't get. She didn't show me the back of my head. She didn't put the paper guard around my neck so a lot of my hair fell on top and under my shirt. She didn't even brush off any hair from my face or neck. She did, however, offer to put product in my hair. When I walked out, I had to brush off all the excess hair off of myself. I thought about not tipping her, but I did. I believe that tipping is necessary for certain work so I gave her a four dollar tip which is well over 20%. Her response was "Oh." There was no thank you or a smile. Right now I'm thinking about going back and asking for a refund. I don't know if I trust this place enough to ask for a touch up, not that there is much hair left to touch up after the butchering I just went through. Maybe I'm being too critical. I've been here many times before. It's usually delivers a decent cut. And sometimes stylist screw up and make mistakes. That happens. But this experience was just rotten across the board. This isn't about a bad hair cut. Just about everything I experienced was bad. read more

Not a very friendly staff if there is no one at the front desk but the nearest stylists on right side can see you but won't acknowledge you at all it happened to me on more than one occasion not to mention the worse haircuts me and my kids got this women that I went to before the first time she did some what decent job but the following time she ruined mine and my daughters back to school hair cut won't recommend and certainly not going back there again. read more
