I had the absolute worst experience ever. I am going through brain cancer and lost half my hair and I wanted highlights done to match my gray which being that I'm a redhead, looks like light blonde/white. Joanne was supposed to highlight my hair for my sister's wedding. We met with her a couple weeks prior and she quoted me $90 for the dye job only. She said over and over she could do a good job at the cost of $90. I already had a cut booked elsewhere. Before I left from the consultation I said to her several times that I was saving the price she quoted me on my phone and asked her to not change day of since I was flying out of DE days after the appointment. She agreed and looked at my calendar on my phone with the price shown and she promised she could do the job and would keep it at that price. Fast forward to 5/15/26. I shower up at 1:45pm for our appointment and she wasn't there. The other girl Alex said she'd be there at 2pm. While I was waiting, a nicely dressed man walked towards the door to leave and asked if I'd been helped. I let him know I was waiting for Joanne. I introduced myself and he said his name was Shane. I asked him about the coupon online for 40% your first due job with hair cuttery and asked if that includes the entire dye job and only highlights. He said yes, it just had to be your first time getting a dye job there. I specifically asked if the discount only applies to the dye not the toner and everything else needed for a complete dye job and he said the entire dye job was discounted. Something along those lines but he confirmed this. I later found out he was the district manager. He left and Joanne eventually showed up at 2:20pm. It is May and she shows up wearing a black sweater dress with a snowman on the front. She and the other lady laughed about it. I should have ran out then. I sat down and she puts on this act that she remembers me, but I could tell she had no idea who I was, what I was there for and I'm sure not the price she quoted me. There was a bit of a language barrier but she seemed to understand enough to do my syw job, and another lady there recommended her when I initially called weeks before. So I'm trying to explain what I wanted done, showed her half my hair was missing due to brain cancer radiation and she again pretends to remember me. She takes me over to wash my hair, then I sit in her chair and she asks me what I'd like done. I said we met a week ago and told her the price she quoted me and she said ok and started to look nervous. She goes to the register to calculate the cost and said it would actually be $120, not $90. I never mentioned the coupon cause I knew she'd do a bad job if I did, but she changed the price she quoted me during our consultation and I was not ok with this. I find out Alex is jer boss and this is why she had to change the initial cost she quoted me. Alex had to stop cutting another customers hair to come and discuss everything with me and Joanne. I told her the details and Joanne kept denying quoting me that price. Alex told her since she quoted me that price she had to honor it and Joanne kept lying about it. My hair is bright red and the left side looks shaved cause my hair is missing and she's still saying she doesn't remember me. She finally agreed to the price she quoted me and I turned around and she said she was sorry she couldn't do the highlights. She said she wouldn't be able to get it the right color. She said over and over she could do it during the first meeting. I was furious since I was leaving to CA in a few days to be in my sister's wedding and Joanne was the one who told me to wait until closer to the day I flew out of state. I asked them for the corporate number and Alex said no and Joanne went in the back to find it and never came back. I told Alex I wasn't leaving without the number. Joanne finally came back to give me the number. Hair cuttery is the worst place out there. Don't go unless you want a cruddy experience. read more

I never would have thought to have her do a blow out too- my fiance was speechless, but when I say from the washing my hair- to understanding the cut I wanted- this is the first time a stylist has ENHANCED my style. The Stylist Beth, She added services to my hair that I did not want or ask for , when I called to reschedule my hair appointment prior to my appointment, she changed what I originally scheduled and put I wanted a "deluxe blowout" and I did not , upon arriving she then tells me she thinks I needs a gloss up which I stated 3 times I couldn't get and she proceeded to do it anyway , I also showed her 2 pictures as well as videos for how I wanted my hair curled, she never curled it once used a blow dryer the whole time and my hair now looks a frizzy wild hot mess , it looks nothing like what I asked for and when I asked her to fix it she stated she was only doing what was already done. I stated multiple times before leaving that I hated my hair and that wasn't what I wanted nor what I asked for , she said she would only discount me for the services she added on and did that I didn't want , and still charged me for a cut that wasn't the style I asked for , so I asked her could she apply my promo code I received upon booking this appointment and she laughed and stated she couldn't do that in my face , the only reason she applied the coupon is because I reminded her from the time I walked in she treated me like a lab rat and a cash cow when I just wanted a simple service to look beautiful and enjoy my Super Bowl Sunday , she has completely ruined my whole day , I would be very mindful about booking with her. read more

They are more apt to do much better job, listening to what you want and in coloring in styling in your actual haircut in actual Styling and everything else that you would actually want. There is also one representative Dorothy, who is actually one of the best stylist that I've had in years she actually listens to what you have and what you do and what you want in colors in styles in shading in coloring in everything she does Axing she does everything she would rather do everything for listening to you to doing everything to listening to what you've said and she doesn't force you into getting another haircut but trying to get you back in there to do another haircut or another color or maybe a waxing or maybe just somethinga lot more simpler than what you were thinking so that you're not spending an arm and a leg on your hair that would you know lead you down the road that would be a massive mistake in reality OK so things could be better OK and she can do marvelous things with you and I see other people do other things that are really great in there but I just happen to have Dorothy and I just happen to think she's simply the best thank you and my name is Ellen . The store Mgr is the worst for starters . Secondly my daughter wanted pink and purple highlights like Jojo Siwa so we went last summer had 4 put in her hair and naturally they faded away so we went back this passed week to be told some bullshit ass lie they don't do color kids under the age of 13! Well that wasn't true since I called around to other locations and guess what we got it done ! They didn't offer to wash my hair after the hair cut and they don't even have a place to wash your hair! No bowls or basins in the layout. I hate to be this person but wow these people need a different line of work. I received a haircut here with a friend days ago. The stylist that took my friend left a hot styling tool on a towel and the place smelled burnt as soon as we walked in; the stylist was surprised that leaving a 450°F styling tool could set something on fire.... needless to say we should've left then. As we kept letting the red flags pass, they kept getting waved harder and harder in our faces. The stylists didn't use measuring tapes to measure the length we requested for the cuts, kept getting our hair stuck in their nails (literally so painful) and had us STAND FOR THE WHOLE HAIRCUT. Never in my life have I had to stand for a haircut. Their reasoning was that our hair was longer than the chair... what? My stylist also whispered to herself as she was cutting my hair, "oh I was hoping I didn't do that." Once my haircut was done she asked if it looked good, to which I said yes, even though I was crying on the inside and left. My hair is horrendously uneven and I can't even think about going back to this place to get it fixed. DO NOT COME HERE. So I booked an appointment yesterday for 3:15. I showed up at 3. There was one stylist with two customers, one of whom had foils so I knew my appointment would be late. I was okay waiting, I understand understaffing. It happens. So I'm waiting, and the phone was ringing non stop. From the gossip I had to over hear I gathered it was someone related to a previous employee. The stylist finally answered and yelled at whoever was there. She and the lady with foils continued to gossip relentlessly about this person. At about 3:45 the stylist let me know that the foil lady need a rinse, haircut, and dry and told me it would be at least 40 minutes. I said I would wait, figuring I'm patient and already here. So the stylist goes back to foil lady and starts complaining about how she's going to be late to get her kid and how awful traffic is after 5pm and about how her partner didn't get sleep. I finally took the hint and checked that JCPenney salon had availability so I booked an appointment and walked over there and got my haircut. I don't mind waiting, I get it, but I don't want to hear gossip and I definitely don't want to be guilted for being a customer. Oh and when I got home I got an email about how I missed my appointment and to be courteous about canceling next time! There will be no next time. read more
