I decided to give the Hair Cuttery in winter Springs a try since I just moved to the area. I went online, looked at the price for a root touch up. I booked an appointment with Dena and at first, everything was going fine, I told her about all my horrible hair experiences and while she assured me, she had been doing hair for over 30 years, I felt at ease and trusted her. I said let's just make it easy and kept it the same color, so the less than 2 inches of growth that I had of dark hair I just needed to match the rest of my blonde hair that's it. I didn't want a hair cut , or a gloss treatment or anything extra. When I booked online, I booked a root touchup because that's all I could afford at the time. And out of everyone in the shop Dena's price was the most expensive being $130 for the root touchup versus the other hair stylists starting price at $100... So I thought "you know what, it's her experience, it's her talent! That's what I'm paying for." as she was doing my roots before she could even finish my whole head she was saying how I was already lifting and how 10 minutes under the hairdryer, she would come check on me and I should be good. 10 minutes went by and I've been sitting here watching her help another ladies customer pretty much having to explain everything like the actual hairstylist assigned to the customer didn't even know what they were doing. Dena was more than happy to assist which I didn't have a problem with but after the original wait time doubled and 20 minutes had gone by my head was on fire at this point. Another stylist actually noticed I was uncomfortable and told me I could lift the dryer up. I sat there a total of 25 minutes before I finally heard her say " I have to get back to my guest" when we got back to the chair she was saying how oh yeah you lifted great. It looks great. She kept spraying my hair with the spritzer. She was blow drying it and combing it. I saw a lot of my hair coming out on the brush, but I didn't think much of it. By the time I left the total was $200. $60 more than what I had been anticipating. And literally all the money I had on me... in those kind of situations it's hard for me to question somebody on the amount or it's almost embarrassing. So I paid the money and went home and my hair felt fine, but she had also spritz it with so much stuff. You know it looked really silky. About an hour after being home sitting on my couch I put my hand up to my hair and it felt like straw or like hay. I was like oh my gosh, I'm gonna go look in the mirror because it felt like I don't even know how to explain it. My hair could almost break off from touching it. She knows she fried my hair. She knows she left me under the dryer too long and lastly above all else, she knows she overcharged me on top of it. The worst was when she sat there and looked at the computer screen about what I had originally booked and said. " oh, no!we did something cheaper than that! " so I'm like what a nice lady, trying to save me money..... HA. And then she told me how she was losing out on money by saying this, but I didn't need a haircut but to go ahead and schedule one for like four weeks from now .... she didn't want me to sit in that chair any longer than I had to before my hair sucked up all that moisture and literally turned into a bale of hay, sitting there in her chair. She let me leave there, knowing she had let me sit there too long, fried my hair and still overcharge me. Extremely disappointed and it's been 10 days since I got my hair done and hundreds of dollars worth of products later trying to get my hair back healthy again. She even made the comment to me of how healthy my hair was when I first sat in the chair. Yeah my beautiful thick healthy blonde hair now is frizzle fried. It's just unacceptable and to be honest if she HADN'T overcharged me after doing this to me, I wouldn't even be writing this review. Overall horrible vibe. Steer clear of this Hair Cuttery. Go somewhere else! Dena is the manager / owner of this particular location but she's too busy helping het fellow employees instead of tending to the person who actually booked an appointment with her. read more

Sebastian took time with my 9yo to get all of the right angles and give her the style SHE wanted. Did not rush to cut straight across just because she's a kid; instead she got beautiful layers. Will def be back to be book Sebastian. Highly recommended and worth every penny. read more

Stylist was decent. But I'm sorry you're not $79 for a trim on the ends aNs blow dry. I left my hair was still damp and whatever product used left oily and you have the audacity to charge me extra cause hair goes to bra strap and is average to thin thickness. Not again. If I pay those prices I will go to a real salon with better atmosphere and better drying techniques and products read more

I used to get my hair cut here all the time and never had any problems. Today's review is not about those times. I came in for a quick trim and texturizing. She did a brief consultation, said that she would cut my hair and shampoo, and then went right into cutting. She gave me a dry cut, which I appreciated, but then proceeded immediately after to shampoo my hair. She never even asked whether I was happy with her work before wetting my hair. I wish she had used cool water when rinsing out my conditioner, but it was just as warm as when she rinsed out my shampoo. After, she asked whether I wanted to blow dry my hair; I said no and then proceeded to check me out. Again, not asking me for my opinion. My hair is dripping wet as my picture shows. Granted, I should've spoken up about what I didn't want (getting my hair washed), but I put my trust in the hair stylist. If anything, I wish she had asked me for any feedback. I understand you're the walk-in stylist and there's a line, but I think dripping wet hair is unacceptable. I hope the end result is worth it. read more

Walked in today. They said the wait was 15 minutes. After 50 minutes of watching stylists fool around, plan schedules and not take anyone back, they finally called my son. My visit was on 8/2/21. It was a wonderful experience in every way. Manager/owner Dena was very attentive and quite skilled. I could not be more pleased. She asked lots of questions about what I wanted. She provided great suggestions and I went with each of them. I was not dissapointed. Atrocious customer service, ridiculous lack of clear communication between service desk amd clients. I feel abused as a customer. I was told this was an appointmentless salon AFTER another associate scheduled me for an appointment. The "appointment" was scheduled for an hour and a half after I walked in on a busy day.... and a bit after all other salons would have closed. Basically, instead of telling me they were too busy to fit me in, and giving me the option to go elsewhere, they mislead me until it was too late for me to even have the option to go elsewhere. When I arrived, I was told they were too busy to take me, and it would ne another 40 minute wait. They robbed me of my option of going elsewhere at 6.30 on Saturday and ruined my freaking night. I normally cut my own hair, after having many bad experiences at hair salons in the past. Still, I decided to try the Hair Cuttery, thinking maybe this cut would be acceptable. Annie was very friendly and upbeat, and took me right away. I wanted a full color as well, but she was very insistent that I could not choose a lighter shade without bleaching my hair. She would only let me choose from a light brown or a dark red. I made it very clear to her that I did not want a dark tone, but she kept assuring me that the red would be noticeable but not too dark. The color turned out much darker than I wanted! The cut did not turn out well at all. I had looked at pictures to get an idea for a cut but she kept saying "no that won't work for you" but I finally found a cut I liked that she was willing to do. My fault for not getting a full blow dry before I left... when I dried it at home I saw that the layers were uneven, my hair was frizzy and it looked awful. I ended up having to get the scissors and fix it myself, cutting off the uneven pieces. So, I cannot recommend this salon. You will spend a lot of money to get a crappy cut and not be able to get the color you want because the stylist won't let you! read more

Dena cut my hair and did a terrible job. The right side of my hair is about a half inch longer than the left side and my layers aren't blended at all. They're choppy and it looks like my dog after I give him a haircut. Stay away from this place!!! read more
