She uses Kevin Murphy products and various other tools in her salon to help our environment. Her knowledge in mixing colors to achieve your goal is extremely impressive. In my appointment this morning she mixed 5 different toners to ensure that there was a balance of both warmth and coolness and was sure to include colors that would cut out other colors as they fade over time to look more natural. It's a complete science I was unaware of but, she approaches with such eloquence. Her overall business approach and professionalism are what I aspire to be in my life! Not only is she a polite and accommodating stylist but she also is extremely friendly and relatable (we're chatting the entire time I'm in her chair about anything and everything)! An absolute master of her craft, she answers all of my questions with as much detail as possible which really shows how passionate she is about her work and her clients and making their goals come to fruition. Her studio vibe is adorable, she has essential oils diffusing, beautiful plants in the windows as well as a coffee/tea table and mini fridge with snacks which, of course, is open to all guests to help themselves. She's really put everything into this and you can tell this is absolutely her passion. I live in another state and am super picky about who does my hair. I was going to be in NJ for my baby shower and wanted it done that day, so as one less thing to worry about on a day that was already busy with travel and family. I set up the appt via IG, and Alyssa was great about responding. The day of my appt, there had been a technical glitch, and my time slot had not been saved. Despite Alyssa having plans to leave around the time of my appt, I showed her the messages from IG, and she apologized and had no issue taking me then. She did a great job on my hair, only uses Kevin Murphy products, and is quite personable. Would definitely recommend and go back myself! Alyssa is a wonderfully professional colorist with a comfortable environment! As a complete novice to the world of hair coloring and the process, she made everything completely easy to understand, by talking to me about what I want for my hair, what it would take, what is or isn't possible, always making my hair's health a priority, as well as a cut/style that would compliment my features and worked with my hair goals. She also gave me really good after care instructions for how to maintain colored hair, and what to expect as time goes on. If you are like me you have had a handful of "relationships" with hair stylists over the years. Well, if there is such a thing as a "hair stylist soulmate", I have found mine. Alyssa is actually the very best! Been going to her for over a year now and I don't trust anyone else to color my hair. She's very intelligent and passionate about her craft so she has a great, thought-out answer to every question I ask. However, her huge knowledge of hair cannot mount to her kindness. I would absolutely recommend this studio. Alyssa is an artist. Visiting town from California and could not be happier with the beachy balayage I'm takin home. The ambiance was also lovely- nice windows, relaxing, and to top the experience off: sustainable. Also I was welcomed with a handmade oat milk latte!
