No, can we reschedule for another time nothing that's ridiculous. The lady at the front was not very helpful and was not very understanding or empathetic at all. Everyone else had been called back for their appointments, and we were still waiting. When 6:15 rolled around, I asked the woman at the desk about the wait, and she said the student performing the pedicure was still setting up her station. At 6:25pm, I started looking around for anyone that resembled an instructor or anyone with authority. I encountered a woman who appeared to be an instructor and a young woman (who turned out to be the pedicure student) and I wanted to know what a 25 minute wait past our scheduled appointment time was all about. The instructor told me there was some kind of mixup but didn't go into any details. She told me the student needed another 5 minutes to setup and a pedicure would take about 45 minutes. This whole experience was totally unacceptable! It was clear that Tricoci University did not want our business and we walked out. I understand that these are students, but part of their instruction should include addressing their clients in a timely fashion. Making someone wait 30 minutes past their appointment time would never be tolerated in any hair/beauty salon or spa. Maybe Tricoci University is a fine place to go if you have unlimited time to dawdle the day away waiting for your scheduled service, but I don't know too many people who can do that. I would never come here for anything because despite making an appointment in advance, I can't trust that my appointment will be honored.

I had taken off a half day of work so that was fine. At 1:50 I am told there is no one here to do the service. After I toll time off! I was offered a "conditioner" next time. I was booked for color. Don't need a conditioner. I said "how about half off color next time" Nope. Can't do that. So I had to leave. I know it is a school but I had an APPOINTMENT--please CALL next time before I head over and miss work and certainly don't act like it is my problem and I should accept the gift of a servie I do not want or need. It looks so much nicer inside than last time I was there! It doesn't feel as outdated anymore. My hair is very long so I couldn't sit in the chair for my cut, and Cayla did an awesome job! She was thorough and l left with shiny, healthier looking hair :) They have little QR codes posted around the stations, but I forgot to scan it before I left, so I wanted to make sure to leave a review here! Thanks for the haircut Cayla, my hair looks SO much healthier now!

She explained everything clearly and went over all the products she'll be using during the process. The facial felt relaxing but also effective, my skin looked noticeably fresher afterward. What I loved most was how hydrated and smooth my skin felt immediately after. The products used didn't leave my face feeling heavy, burning or greasy, and my complexion looked more even and radiant. By the next day, my skin still felt soft and healthy, not just "temporary glow." Overall, it was a great experience and I'd definitely come back. Highly recommend 10/10.

When I arrived I checked in, shortly after a gentleman mentioned that they were having some technical issues. I was understanding and patient, but after waiting an hour, I asked how much longer it would be until I would be seen. At that point, the person at the front desk told me that the stylist who was supposed to do my hair didn't show up and asked if I could wait another hour for someone else. Unfortunately, waiting two hours for a scheduled appointment was not reasonable for me. I ended up leaving without being seen. I understand that things happen, but better communication would have gone a long way. I was really disappointed with the experience.

I got a relaxer last time, but this time my hair was (mostly) natural and I wanted to keep it that way. I requested a natural hair process of wash, dry, and trim. I had a style picture sample to show them too. My stylist (Tranise? Denise? Raynisa?)was more of a novice in need of supervision this time than my previous stylist, who was mostly there to accrue hours. She was friendly and approachable. As with my last service, I paid FIRST, word of warning to those who go. Not sure what the return/exchange policy is there for very unsatisfied customers. The atmosphere was upbeat and supportive, with my signs encouraging smiling and positivity. There seemed to be the same supply issues, however, of equipment missing, misplaced, or unavailable. I was told a diffuser would be used to keep my curl while drying, but no one seemed to have one. After a mishap or two (too much product, had to rinse it out) I was placed under the dryer but no additional conditioner was applied to my hair. I should have requested it but really should I have to? I got some good advice on maintenance, and I got the style that I wanted too. When I am more comfortable handling my hair I will go back, maybe bring some equipment/product just in case.

I've had the pleasure of knowing and learning from Nika for the past several years Most recently, I…read moretook her bridal detailing class and bridal business class offered through Chicago Beauty Exchange. I was so excited looking forward to the class because I knew it would be a great learning experience for me. Nika is one of those rare teachers that does not hold back when she is explaining or teaching you something. She will literally tell you all that she knows. And she doesn't get annoyed by people who ask a million questions (that's me). I'm in a season of my career that I'm trying to take things to the next level, and her class was the perfect class for me to take at the right time. I am a nerdy makeup artist who happens to have an advanced college degree. Nika appeases that side of me because she brings in a lot of her background in the arts when she teaches. She knows a lot about bone structure and color theory and is very knowledgeable about that world and how it translates to makeup. She just doesn't explain the what, she explains the how which, for a person like me, is how I really learn things. Nika is also very honest. Earlier in my career she gave me a very intense critique that gave me a lot to work on and helped to push me farther along on my journey. Nika has inspired me to work on my business plan, website, logo, know my way around legal issues, make quality connections, how to brand myself and to really dream long term about where I want my career to go. She doesn't discourage you but she empowers and encourages you to fulfill your potential. After taking her class, I have enough on my to do list to keep me busy for the next year, at least. And my confidence has increased that the goals and dreams that I have in my heart are actually reachable. She also spills her guts when it comes to her makeup application techniques which is so helpful. A lot of artists may leave out one or two most important steps in their technique that really perfects it. Or they will act like something they are doing is simple and common knowledge and gloss over it, when it is something they had to work to perfect. Not Nika. She is very open and sincerely interested in helping others become better at what they do. She explains her step by step and doesn't hold back on her products that she uses. I am very glad to have crossed her path and I plan to take more classes from her in the future.
