Before I share my story, let me just say that if you're a woman dealing with hair loss, they offer a myriad of solutions at various price points. I do not work for Hair Club nor am I a client (more about that later), but am so pleased to endorse them as a first stop to fully understand your hair loss options. The consultant & other staff I met with made me feel comfortable & right at home. There were NO high pressure sales tactics or other types of obligations. My story: I've always had very thick long hair. However, I was recently diagnosed with Lichen Planopilaris.. which has caused significant patchy hair loss! My doctor was vested in getting the condition under control & Im thankful that it now is. but my doctor could provide little to no information as to the retention & maintenance of my existing mane. After speaking to many hair stylists, I knew extensions were not an option to help deal with my hair loss. I started my own research & education & thankfully stumbled upon the Hair Club. In going to Hair Club, I was seeking to understand both options for hair retention as well as cosmetic hair cover. In the Spring 2015, I met with Image Consultant 'Ashley' for a FREE comprehensive consultation & she: 1) Thoroughly explained all options & pricing 2) Took full magnified pix of my scalp to comprehensively show hair loss issues (which I previously hadn't seen). 3) Stressed the importance of daily Rogaine for maintenance. (Prior to my meeting with Ashley, my doc said Rogaine was a waste for my condition). I spoke to my doc post this Hair Club consultation regarding all Hair Clubs' recommendations. Due to my scalp condition, unfortunately I am not a candidate for HC's suggested cosmetic option. However the doc green lighted the Rogaine & after almost (6) months of use, I see a visible difference. (Due to other constraints I also did not purchase Hair Club products). PS: Ashley, (Hair Club Image Consultant I met with in the Spring), recently contacted me just to see how I was doing. She offered to do another Scalp scan to confirm if the Rogaine treatment is actually working & we met last month. Who else would do this...especially when there is no hope of making a sale? Who else would put themself out like that? These folks are the real deal! Hair Club is an amazing resource & option for most folks dealing with hair loss. Im so glad I didn't hesitate to make an appt for consultation 6 months ago. Also, the Rogaine is working, YEAH! Thank you Ashley for all you've done for me.

Its fearless leader and his team of stylists play with scissors for the shear fun of it, and are the ride-or-dyes you and your hair have been looking for. Nestled into the ground floor of Troy's beautiful Proctor's Theater building on 4th Street, with its highly decorative front facade of brick and marble covered in glazed terra-cotta, it's no surprise to discover that the salon's insides match its outsides. The interior is seriously sophisticated, with light and dark grey walls serving as the perfect contrast against the large floor-to-ceiling windows and big, beautiful green plants that call the bright window seats home. The main floor is a neat little grid of beautiful styling stations, and mirrors, plenty of mirrors - even full wall-length mirrors - except instead of feeling like you're trapped in a funhouse, you're lost at Barney's, and loving it. A fun feature I really loved: each stylist's station is equipped with a mini Husky or Stanley branded tool chest on wheels, including a massive tool chest at the makeup bar. So like, not only does it add a cool masculine feel to the chic space, but I love the message that sends to clients, like, "Yeah, we work with tools, too!" Nice flex, guys. The best seat in the house, however, is in Christopher Brian's chair. Sure, he has a slew of super talented hairstylists working with him, but Christopher Brian speaks hair; English is his second language, and I've never had a bad hair day with him. Facts. Christopher works incredibly fast yet extremely precise, and with the eye and talent of a professional who's been behind the scenes at NYFW. I've long been privy to his next-level hair skills, and I'm incredibly happy to be back in his chair once again. He works in every color of the color wheel, but he's a self proclaimed Blonde Lover/Expert/God, and those are my people, so hair I am! I would behoove anyone with a scalp, and a pulse, to visit Christopher Brian Salon, sink into a luxe chair, and let one of its awesome stylists give you the change you're seeking! So after consulting with many area large well known & smaller lessor known salons, I finally found Debbie...I thank my lucky stars that I did! (I have been a client now for six months). First let me say that Debbie offered a level of compassion that I hadn't encountered from any of the myriad of local stylists I visited. (True story: A stylist actually said to me "Gee, I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my hair..Thank God its so long!") However Debbie also provided me with creative reasonable solutions. She was upfront about cost, what would & wouldn't work, & made the time to meet with me over several visits to discuss all these options as well as answer my questions. Upon my careful consideration & her creative styling techniques, I finally pulled the trigger & purchased a "TopSecret" piece from Debbie this week. All I can say is WOW! It just makes all the difference...& the best part is, only I know its there, meaning it completely blends in with my natural hair & looks really real. Debbie is a very gifted stylist etc who "gets" us ..the whole vibe of her cozy salon is pink, sassy, & chic! I totally recommend her for any & all of your hair care needs!

I am loving this space and how bright, airy, industrial but modern but retro all in one it is. Cohoes is super easy to get to for me. I parked right out front. Now, the important part, the hair: it's SO GREAT! Jess just knows what she's doing. I gave her buzz words: BLONDE but keep it healthy and easy to maintain. I flat out told her I wasn't planning to come in for months and I pretty much refuse to style it ever so it'd need to look good with just a solid hairbrushing every now and then. I left the details up to her and let her do her thing and the results truly blew me away! I was nervous leading up to this appointment because I was a previous bleach-a-holic and am SO PROUD of the condition I was able to get my hair in by simply leaving it alone. Two and a half weeks and a handful of washes later and it still looks and feels great! Everyone has been absolutely losing their minds at my new look but, most importantly, I love it and feel like a different, more confident person. I cannot recommend Jess enough! She is such a genuine, thoughtful person who I end up telling my entire life story to while in her chair. I can't imagine ever seeing someone else, so hoping we grow old and blonde together!
